  1. Looking good. I would suggest giving at lease 4 studs between tracks so your trains don't hit each other.
  2. Hello all. Been working on my train station moc. Purchased two 75955 sets and originally came up with this design. Kept this moc for a few months, really just didn't like it. Basically to me looks like a subway set and not applicable in my application. So rebuilt the set to this I like this moc much better. Extended the platforms, build an actual building (less the roof) and added steps. The building portion of the moc came out larger then expected. Looks kinda empty with only two vending machines an a ATM in there. Ran out of light gray plates, will swap out the white ones when replacements are available. Looking for some ideas on how to improve. Open to suggestions. Few thoughts I have 1) Swap out the dark gray plates in the overpass steps to light gray. Thinking this may tie the set together better. Also considering changing out the brown tiles to an alternate color. May just move these steps somewhere else for pedestrian use only. The black frame just does not go with the tan/gray of the building. Not sure why TLG went with these colors. Then rebuilt the steps completely. Under this case would probable go wooden steps (brown) 2) Could enclose 1/2 of the building to make a shop/restaurant. Maybe a ticket office? 3) Could add a second floor, not sure what would go up there? Have the room thou. Hope these pictures are coming thru, had issues with my last post.
  3. Have seen on Youtube one motor powering both sets. In my setup, have both motors powered off one battery box (one motor has an extension cable so it can reach, power functions). With the one motor setup, you can gear down the speed of the motor, thus slowing down the sets which is something I would like to do. Future plans were to just drive both these motors from a dc power source (one of the old 9 VDC train power supplies, adjusting speed of sets from this power supply). With Power Up Hub (Power Functions 2.0) can have variable VDC output on two channel, one for each set. Using the coding in the Power Up App can adjust speeds thus getting the same effect only better as you could make the rides stop and start on timers. Wish the Power Up Hubs were a little more price friendly.
  4. Yes, the motors are loud, I just consider it part of the ride. We have the carousel also, both motorized (they share a battery pack as right next to each to other). Both are great sets, Ferris Wheel my favorite of the two. Some of the led light kits are amazing for these. Like your at a real fair/amusement park!
  5. The late Ferris Wheel is one of my favorite sets. Motorized it is a thing of beauty.
  6. The creator expert roller coaster is retiring this year? That seams too short of a run.
  7. Your first moc, the gondola is my favorite.
  8. Hello all. Was looking at Lego Ideas and came across this moc. I think it looks great. Unfortunately, don't believe TLG will ever offer this set (at 5000 votes currently). Would be competing against the official Roller Coaster set TLG has out currently. That got me thinking maybe this would be something to inspire a moc of my own. I got the Creator 3 in 1 Pirate Roller Coaster with aspirations to motorize it. Something like this moc would be many times better in my opinion. Not looking at the buildings and such, think all the track sections are available (not in gold, but in gray). Not sure that first hill is high enough to keep the car moving thru the entire run. The last hill to the on/off area to me seams like a long way to go. There might be some decline in this part part of the run, difficult to see. Wish the builder had a video with their submission. Anyways, before I start dreaming on my moc, do you think this track arrangement would function if motorize? https://ideas.lego.com/projects/b85f394e-f73f-4bac-a37d-894792d39c7c
  9. Nice build, with the shorter wheelbase will get less drag on the corners. Would like to see a fleet of these cars behind a steam engine.
  10. I did a similar roof with my Hogwarts express moc. Didn't have the color bricks alternating thou. Loke yours better. Does not appear this is a powered moc. Do you have any plans to power/run on a track? If yes would be interested in how your single front pilot acts on the standard Lego curves.
  11. Amazon USA has these being sold today at $50 US each. That is the most expensive I have seen yet. Anyone seen priced higher? Kinda wish I had bought a few doz of these. Would have cost me a few thousand dollars thou...lol.
  12. Not sure anything is written in stone. For most a modular seams to be a building, usually multistory, on a 16 by 32 or 32 by 32 baseplate with removable floors. Assembly square was on a 48 by 32 baseplate so there is some flexibility there. Feel if you have a building or series of building that connect together well with removable floors you will fall under the modulate category. If they can fit with TLG official modular sets then even better.
  13. I'm glad you are enjoying your new 8 stud Speed Champions. I am still in the camp of not liking the change. The 6 wide vehicles were already a stretch in my city, 8 wide is just too large. Believe if you have in a separate display or displayed by themselves would be a great addition to anyone's collection. My collection already has too many themes so having to reel things in a bit. Unfortunately the 8 wide Speed Champions is one theme that I have decided not to collect. I hope TLG offers many future sets to your liking. Its a great theme and if they had started out with 8 wide sets I would probable still be collecting the theme.
  14. Any dates yet for this future gift with purchase?
  15. I just use rechargeable batteries in the standard TLG battery boxes. Do you have remove the battery's from box to charge but not to horribly difficult.
  16. Not sure how many hours you are planning to run your train, but if not too many coating your plastic track with copper foil tape does work for a bit. Lot of Youtube videos on the subject. Cheap option for limited use.
  17. Well that disappointing if AS and CG are both going to be discontinued? Hopefully demand will be strong enough for TLG to restock at least thru the end of 2020.
  18. I have missed a few gift with purchases over the years and those are the sets that got away for me. Almost missed the 40th anniversary train....this is by far my favorite gift with purchase set.
  19. Well hope we can at least agree they should hold off on the really good gift with purchase sets (with a high dollar minimum purchase to qualify).till folks get back to work.
  20. Yes feel TLG like everyone else will have to adjust supplies to match demand. With people dying and out of work, going to be hard to justify buying Lego for sometime. TLG makes a superior product and IMO they will reduce supply rather then cut their prices. We might see a price reduction on bricks and pieces if they have a lot of bricks they need to clear from their inventory. I hope they hold off any really good gift with purchases till most folks can afford Lego again.
  21. Hey did anyone figure out a good way to mount a Power UP battery in the engine and access the on/off button? I like others have the 2x4 slopped brick on top of the battery. Have to remove this brick to turn the battery on/off.
  22. I like how you didn't connect your modulars to the road plates as many do (sidewalk tiles). This makes it so much easier to move them around which I do constantly.
  23. I like the more recent carousel with the animals so much better then the original. So much movement and fun!
