That worked, back in business. Thanks ;) It listed a bunch of script in a large error box. Redownloaded software and now works.

Is this the first photo of the upcoming LEGO Creator 31109 Pirate Ship?
LegoDW replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Ya, my only experience with the Pirate theme is the Barracuda, so maybe I'm spoiled. If you have not already gotten strongly suggest you do. It's huge! Will check out Jang's review. Used to really like his videos, he changed his format a bit and don't care for them as much. Really liked what he has done with his city. -
Been a few months since purchasing this set. Still love it! Recommend to any ship builders out there.

Know this set has been out for a bit, looking for some input from those who own it. I am new to the pirate them, just have the Barracuda bay. Love the Barracuda, Not sure how I feel about the brick built sails. Concerned will not look right next to the Barracuda. How does this ship look compared to the rest of your fleet? -
For a purest, yes you are not using official Lego parts so your creating. For most, maybe.... I look at it this way, its your interpretation of this hobby, do what makes you happy. If you have at table supporting your Lego or a shelf, unless that is made of Lego (that would be expensive!!!) then its already not 100% Lego so have some fun with it. 3D printing looks like a lot of fun. If I had a printer, I would do it too!

Planning some changes on my layout. Went to fire up Bluebrick on my PC, won't load. Got an error with the software. Running windows version 10. Anyone else have a similar issue? Is there any other software packages available more windows 10 friendly?

Believe this is the first thread I have seen that commented the passenger cars were to short. You might want to check out the last Holiday Train 10254, it had some very short carriages and engine. One of the biggest advantages of 60197, is the bogies (trucks) are on a pin and allow for taking tighter curves. With your tight curves, recommend retaining this functionality.

It is available now on Amazon also. S@H is still saying temporary out of stock. With Covid and all the new stuff TLG is coming out with they much have put a priority on shipping these sets out in bulk to their venders vs selling directly. Guess this makes sense as this set was going to retires soon. At $200 US and 3000+ pieces not sure this was the most profitable set for TLG.
-
I hope the reseller prices drop. Not sure how many folks out there still want to pick this set up, but hate for anyone to pay more then MSRP on a set that isn't even retired yet. Darn COVID! Maybe TLG will pushback its retirement.
-
Just thought I would share. The Tree house is in stock at Walmart.com in the US. Been watching S@H forever and this set's been out of stock or back ordered. As Oct already and this set is to retire pulled the trigger at Walmart. Thought I would share should anyone else be in the same situation as me. Tempting to purchase a few of them as resellers are already marking this sets up in price. Really don't want to bother with reselling myself, Lego is a fun hobby for me....reselling sounds too much like work.

I didn't know the Pirate theme was the best performing theme for TLG. Would have thought Star Wars held that title as been going on so so long and with the Star Wars TM tax.

I agree, the Barracuda is a great set....one of the best I own.

Set looks ok, was hoping for a non fantasy offering this year. IMO this is not very original and does not look like a lot of design time was spent on this. That said, just build the Barracuda Bay 21322 and it was fantastic. Looking at pricing, two club houses vs the bay....no where close. 21322 is so much a better deal. The build, display, just having it in your collection just so out performs 10275. One exception is if you don't like pirates....but even if you don't this really is a amazing set! Unless this interior of this build is amassing sticking with my statement of disappointed in 10275. Their are so many other great sets out my holiday Lego spending will be on other themes. I hope TLG regroups and decides to put more effort into the WV theme. IMO putting 18+ on the box does not offset a subpar design. Additional: If you like this set great. Happy they made it for you. As stated above, TLG has really come out with some winning sets this year and IMO this is not on par with them. Have come to expect more from the WV theme. Maybe I need to lower my expectations.

Finished the build this morning. Have to say this is one of the best Lego sets I have every built and glad its in my collection. That's just as the island....planning on make the boat and moc a fort on island. Very glad I purchased and IMO worth the $200 US price tag. Strongly recommend.

I don't know if you all have seen this, but feel this was very well done and a great use of the Island parts. Need an Imperial base for the Pirates to attack.

Regarding this set......with the piece count, Star Wars Trademark tax and all the new mini figs feel we are lucky its only $350 in the US. As for those looking for the figures only (like on Bricklink), 21 figures will be easily $150 to $200 by the time you add tax and shipping. Better off skipping going out to lunch for awhile and getting the complete set. As for am I going to purchase, while I feel in the long run I will get bored of this set being displayed...I will purchase anyways as feel when it retires, the after market will go crazy and that is when I will feel incomplete without it. That is what seams to happen lately. Regarding a deep discount before purchasing as in the questionnaire....I doubt will see this at a discount in the US. I was surprised to see the Disney train go on sale last black Friday so maybe it will? Don't get me started on 8 stud wide trains.....come on TLG hows that supposed to fit in everyone's cites???? Stick to 6 wide. I agree it looks good....perfect? I hope so, will wait to judge till I see the YouTube reviews with actual set. I don't care for the helmets. Price dose not effect my opinion. Glad TLG has offered them to those who enjoy them. For those AFOL sake hope they offer more in the future.

I have mine next to the Fire Brigade. Buildings match in height and the DO being a little smaller scaled looks correct. Thought the Fire Fighters might like to shoot some pool after hours. Regarding the leaked pictures of the new Elf Club house, like this one better then last years Ginger Bread house. Due to COVID and general issues around the world planning on picking them both up this year!

500% increase? Do you really thing it will increase that much? Kinda hope it does so TLG will make more sets for this theme. Got thru bag one last night. Looks like 1/2 the island, a small boat and 1 min fig. Like the coconuts on the trees. Looking at what was build and weight of bricks, feel if this part was a stand alone set would be around $30 to $35 dollars US. Maybe even $40 with their new pricing. Regarding value, as about 1/6 the set (based on estimated costs), I am good. Its a nice island, little low on detail but assuming future bags will remedy this. Looking at pictures, second half of Island similar. That puts the total island build at around $60 to $70. Must admit wish ship was sold separately as for $130 from pictures looks well worth it for fleet building. Would think it wouldn't be too difficult for TLG to recolor the ship, change the sails and offer an Imperial version. One can hope!

I just cannot keep Lego in a box....the bricks were made to build ether the set intended or a moc. Just don't understand how AFOL can keep their stuff sealed? Will be building my set over the the next week, will let you all know what my impression is.

Detective office is what got me too. Once we built that it the gates were opened. Yes, I am hoping TLG returns to more traditional sets too for the theme. What we did last year (passed on the gingerbread house) was build our own set. It was not as pretty as official set, but kids loved making it and that is what really matters.

Have not been following this set's availability. Good to hear its been out of stock, implying demand has been good. Perhaps TLG felt Barracuda Bay has the potential to sell better now so focused production on this set. That would make sense as set is for sale at multiple locations in the US for the same price as S@H. Will be curious if demand will outweigh supply again and set goes on backorder. Wouldn't be shocked if happens this year for the Holidays. So the next question is how good do sales have to be to bring out other Pirate Themed sets. Know there is a 3-1 et out now, I'm not sold on those brick sails thou.

First visit to Lego Store, USA since COVID-19
LegoDW replied to LegoDW's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yes, S@H is always an option. For me, I like to look at the sets/boxes in person to get a better feel on what I might light. Sometimes hard to tell by looking at a picture on the computer. Also like to purchase at my local store to help with their revenue. Buying from S@H goes into the general sales. I like my local store. Try to support it keep it around. -
Hello all. Went to my local Lego store today. Wanted to get the Ideas Tree house set, out of stock. Bought the Barracuda Bay instead (they had 3 in stock in the display area, unknown how many in the back). Just checked and Barracuda day is available at S@H and on Amazon. This got me thinking, with supplies limited on a lot of Lego products is this a case of TLG making enough stock for the demand for this set or is the pirate set not that popular....thus having good supply available. I was holding off purchasing this set as a lot of bricks go toward the island build which at this time not very interested in. Planning to display as the pirate ship. I hope it is not a demand thing, would like to see TLG come out with additional pirate sets. Know they have the 3-1 one set out, but not sure about those brick built sails.

Went to the local Lego Store today, first time since COVID-19 hit (about 9 months). Store has entrance that is outdoors...not part of a mall or other indoor stores. It is in a strip mall, bunch of stores all next to each other. They would only allow 2 customers in the store at a time, they had two cash registers set up. Store was about 1/2 stocked. I went to get the Ideas tree house...left with the Ideas pirate ship. Store was busy, had to wait outside maybe 10 mins. Employees look somewhat stressed, could tell changes were difficult for everyone. Pick a brick wall was very limited....this was odd as usually my store has some good items to pick from. Thought I would share my experience. For those wondering, the tree house was out of stock. Always wanted a Lego pirate ship (only been in the hobby a few years). Was holding off on getting this set as bit expensive and a lot of the parts are for the island build that I'm not very interested in. Expecting as usually to fall in love with this set once build and keep it in the wrecked form. Seams like this happens to me a lot. As an example, have the old haunted house (monster fighters). When purchased planned on rebuilding into a non run down building.....once build kinda liked the run down look and has stayed this way ever since.

Hopefully TLG can work on their problem described above. They are fortunate to have such a passionate fan base of AFOL.
