I just found this video detailing a very, um, unorthodox use for minifig heads. It was published a couple of years ago, so some of you may have already seen it. The whole time I was yelling "It's called a minifigure!" at the screen!

Piecing togeather a space suit for my personal minifig character.

You could take the arms out and reverse them so that the air tank would cover up the zipper. But don't let the ultra-purists find out... -
This is a little MOC spaceship I put together after finding some sand blue elements while organizing my old parts. Not too much to it, but it was a fun little build! The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Pdaitabird replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
One thing I like about the colored canopies of older space themes is that it looks like the glass is coated with some sort of barrier to protect against cosmic radiation (the lack of such futuristic coatings being why real spacecraft don't have big windows). I always considered the yellow canopies of CS ships to represent a protective measure.- 991 replies

This looks fantastic! My first impression on seeing the render was "space yacht," so you've certainly captured the look of a luxury vessel. It sounds like it has some nice play features, and the angled wondows allow for good visibility inside. One thing I might recommend is some sort of ventral protrusion to balance out the dorsal cockpit. It might help to make it look like the engines' thrust vector passes through the ship's center of mass. She's a fine looking ship and I can't wait to see more pictures!

Welcome to Eurobricks! That is a lovely MOC. The best way to add pictures is to deeplink from Flickr. This tutorial will show you how. The 0.1 MB is just for your profile picture.

This looks like a good idea! Might I suggest using spoiler tags for all posts in this topic for a while, so that people who browse the "All Activity" page won't see anything? (That's how I found this topic.)

LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Pdaitabird replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's probably true, and it's a pity. Slave 1 certainly gets more screen time and shows off its firepower in AOTC. I think the dogfight between Jango and Obi-Wan is the best part of the worst film. I wonder if it will be possible to mod Jango's from the new version if parts exist in the right colors. -
Maybe they should just forget about these newfangled "automatic binding bricks" altogether and go back to making wooden ducks.

You might say that monorail fans have a "one-track" mind! Sorry - I just had to.

Nice parts use with those wheels!
-
Nice SNOT technique on the nose of that f-unit!

Some of you may recall a few months back that I posted an LDD MOC of a locomotive using only parts from the 9V-era (linked here). Since then I have built the locomotive in real bricks, along with a layout using the same premise: to examine what I could build using only bricks that I already have, all of which are from before around 2005. If you compare it with the render in the original post, you'll notice that the engine has been modified to look more American than European, and the coaches have been elongated. The base is a 4' x 4' piece of plywood; if anyone is interested, Krylon Gloss Emerald Green is a very close match to Lego green. IMG_0662 by the chestertonian, on Flickr IMG_0663 by the chestertonian, on Flickr IMG_0664 by the chestertonian, on Flickr IMG_0670 by the chestertonian, on Flickr The layout is set in the early 20th century as the west is beginning to settle down. The town of Brick Butte fell on hard times after the local Army post was disbanded in 1896. Fifteen years later, there is little left but a few buildings (some built from materials salvaged from the abandoned fort) and a few dozen residents. IMG_0665 by the chestertonian, on Flickr I'll introduce you to some of the prominent citizens: Count DuCoup moved to America after his nation's defeat in the Franco-Prussian War, and eventually settled in Brick Butte. IMG_0666 by the chestertonian, on Flickr Hank Solo, as usual, is engaging in some shady transactions... IMG_0667 by the chestertonian, on Flickr Sheriff Quentin G. Jensen and his deputy, Juan Quenobi, patrol the dusty streets. IMG_0668 by the chestertonian, on Flickr Retired Major General Ben Caine O'Bee trains his young neighbor in the use of the cavalry saber. IMG_0669 by the chestertonian, on Flickr Meanwhile, state senator Paul P. Dean visits the town in his newfangled motorcar... IMG_0672 by the chestertonian, on Flickr Finally, here's a video of the train running around the layout. Thanks for looking! Soli Deo Gloria

You can download Studio here. I didn't find it too hard to adapt from LDD.
-
Lovely engine! The locomotive, tender, and coach all put the EN to shame by comparison. Have you tried Studio? It's fairly easy to import LDD files, and even third-party parts like BBB wheels. Plus the parts list is kept up-to-date.

I bet it includes the garbage that they dump out of the star destroyer in ESB. -

Neat concept of a large vessel with multiple cultures aboard - almost like a CIS Babylon-5! The mini fighter is also nice. -
[How to:] Fix frayed wire on Lego 9v track connector
Pdaitabird replied to Unfinished_Projects's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thanks for posting this! I just unpacked my old 9v gear, and it's starting to get frayed, so I'll have to do this eventually. -
Wow! I'm not really a fan of mechs in general, but this is impressive!

Ideas for freight locomotive to complement 4559
Pdaitabird replied to Elana-chan's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Among all the historical and present-day locomotives, there are a few futuristic looking engines in the Eurobricks Train MOC index here. May not be what you're looking for, but it might help. -
Which system do you use? The answer may be different depending on whether you run 12v, 9v, PF, PU, etc.
-
Thanks! Although I haven't tried it, you could probably mount the whole assembly on wheels to roll on a narrow-gauge track beside the mainline.
