  1. I wonder what the mods would do if some lowly vassal staged a coup and declared himself emperor...
  2. Looks really good on your Flickr page! Here's a tutorial on deeplinking pictures so they show up in your post. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/97921-flickr-tutorial/&tab=comments#comment-1941766 Welcome to Eurobricks!
  3. Thanks for running this raffle and merry Christmas! So am I, as it's probably too hard to ship an actual manatee...we'd better start building saltwater tanks just in case!
  4. Great story, and the two MOCs work really well together...the old-fashioned mail van and traction engine look like they could be from the same English village. Merry Christmas!
  5. Ah, so you did - thanks for pointing that out. I'd completely missed the description before!
  6. Beautiful locomotive with nice greebling all around.
  7. Who cares about profits? TLG exists solely to cater to my personal taste!
  8. I think part of the problem for the Emerald Night, like most of the more recent train sets, is its size. A $100+ train is a pretty big investment for a lot of people. When the entire train line consists of just two or three big sets, many fans will opt to buy neither. I think TLG had the right idea in the early 2000s, with a diverse line of rolling stock at various price points.
  9. Gorgeous! The royal starship is by far my favorite ship from TPM and you've captured its essence brilliantly. Does the chrome process affect how tightly the pieces fit together?
  10. Especially convenient when a critter runs in front of your car, eh?
  11. I'm amazed that you got the flex tool to cooperate on that front tubing! Also, I may have to steal your technique for hanging the bell.
  12. My all-time favorite piece...Wagner is often playing in the background when I build in LDD.
  13. I like how you've shaped the hull as well as the streaks of rust!
  14. Here is an LDD MOC of my favorite ship from my favorite franchise: the Daedalus-class battlecruiser from Stargate: SG-1. I've always loved how the Daedalus-class somewhat resembles an aircraft carrier with a bunch of rockets attached! Thanks for looking! Soli Deo Gloria
  15. I love your design for the Borg cube! That's a wonderful micro Enterprise too - is it the Sovereign-class?
  16. That's a very nice locomotive! The tubing and pipework under the running boards really add to the detail.
  17. St. Nicholas...punching heretics since 325 AD! St-Nick-Punching-Arius by the chestertonian, on Flickr
  18. Welcome to Eurobricks! Is there a picture of your model? I've linked a guide to embedding images here. I look forward to seeing your creations!
  19. I don't know which is more beautiful, the engine or the passenger cars! Keep up the good work!
  20. Might I suggest that we AFOLs add a new term to our vocabulary: SEOC (someone else's own creation) to avoid confusion? /s
  21. I just started Studio and opened this model in 55 seconds overall. In my experience, that compares favorably to the time it takes to start LDD and open a file.
  22. Thanks! I only took one photo of that particular engine when I was there, but another view angle and more information are on the museum's website here.
  23. No. 111 is a small 0-4-0 saddle tank locomotive on display at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC. It was built by Alco in the 1920s and ended up moving coal around power plants before it was retired. IMG_0226 by the chestertonian, on Flickr I recently downloaded Studio 2.0 and thought this engine would make for a good experiment as my first project in the new program. I really like how it allows you to use custom parts like BBB wheels and shows the prices for each part. This 8-wide model would cost a little over $100 to build - not counting the BBB drivers! I was also surprised to see that the built-in POV-Ray rendering options are much faster than the settings I have used before. The Studio file is available here. Thanks for looking! 0-4-0ST-1 by the chestertonian, on Flickr 0-4-0ST-2 by the chestertonian, on Flickr Soli Deo Gloria
  24. Looking good - I like how you did the cab roof. Is that an opening hatch on top?
  25. Fantastic locomotive! It's amazing how you've managed to build this masterpiece in such a short time for the contest!
