  1. Just a thought: what if the lack of Benny (so far) is to avoid spoilers? If he plays a pivotal role in a major plot twist or something, I could see why they'd hold off on sets based on his scenes until the summer wave.
  2. Yeah, who says we're not getting a variant costume?
  3. Is that security guard a superhero whose power is the ability to travel between the Marvel and DC universes?
  4. I don't know if anyone else has uncovered English names and US prices yet, but here's what I managed to dig up: 79115 Turtle Van Takedown $40 79116 Big Rig Snow Getaway $70 79117 Turtle Lair Invasion $100 79118 Karai Bike Escape $13 79119 Mutation Chamber Unleashed $25 79120 T-Rawket Sky Strike $35 79121 Turtle Sub Undersea Chase $60
  5. Now I know how the Super Heroes collectors feel when they see the Comic Con exclusives.
  6. As Off The Wall shows, you not only have to deal with non-AFOLS who don't understand your hobby, but also the constant negativity of other AFOLs who judge you for liking themes or sets they don't. At the end of the day, though, there's not really that much to explain: it's a hobby, most people have hobbies, most hobbies cost money.
  7. Scrounged up 21019 on B&N's database today; the US price will be $35.
  8. I'm hoping the "Limited Edition" just has something to do with it being the first Architecture set voted on by fans. That was an international vote, after all, so hopefully it will get a wide release eventually.
  9. Nice! I've really been looking forward to this one. Can I ask where you got it?
  10. Stickers are part of Lord Business' evil plan to sneak a little glue into the sets. Not that it matters to me, since the two sets I'm definitely going to get are Cloud Cuckoo Palace and MetalBeard's Duel, both of which don't appear to have any. On another note, there's a gap in the numbering: no 70810. Could that set number be reserved for an exclusive? Possibly one featuring Benny?
  11. They've just been a lot more popular this year for whatever reason. LEGO didn't pull them off shelves - customers did.
  12. So I'm guessing this picture of Benny on the characters page is the version we'll eventually see in a set:
  13. As long as we're overthinking things, where do you think Fabuland fits in, considering a character from the movie wears a Fabuland shirt? Is it a theme park?
  14. Surprised no one has mentioned this bit yet [emphasis mine]: Now, could that just be referring to the soundstage portion of the lair, or is there a whole other aspect of these sets yet to be revealed?
  15. Found the sets in B&N's database. The English names are: 70800 Getaway Glider 70801 Melting Room 70802 Bad Cop's Pursuit 70803 Cloud Cuckoo Palace 70804 Ice Cream Machine 70805 Trash Chomper 70806 Castle Cavalry 70807 MetalBeard's Duel 70808 Super Cycle Chase 70809 Lord Business' Evil Lair
  16. "The projects that succeed in reaching 10,000 connect to passionate interest communities outside of the "traditional" LEGO fan community. We see that as a good thing; it identifies new markets and audiences for our products and creates a better business case, which makes it easier for us to say yes to producing your project." -Tim Courtney, Lego Cuusoo Community Manager
  17. Which is exactly why CUUSOO exists - to market LEGO to people who aren't already LEGO fans. As just2good pointed out, there's a little Easter Egg for AFOLs in the 1958, but the target market here is people outside the AFOL echo chamber.
  18. I'd say it's marketed to AFOBTTFs, not AFOLs.
  19. At this point I kind of think the different lampposts every year might be some sort of running gag among the designers. I don't mind it too much, personally.
  20. Dark blue 1x8x2 arches! You know they did that on purpose.
  21. I still have to buy all of them! Seriously though, even with just a name, this sounds promising. One of these days I'll actually buy a modular instead of living vicariously through GRogall's reveals.
  22. This is really well done! I love the attention to details like the rubber bands allowing the buttons to spring back into place. Any plans to make a controller as well?
  23. I just picked this up today as well. Normally I have no interest in anything from the Business & Management section, but since it's about LEGO, of course I had to get it. We all know the basics of the company by now (OKC, 1932, Leg godt, the three-coats-of-lacquer-on-the-ducks story), but this promises a more in-depth look at the company's culture and innovation strategies. Could be very good information to have, especially considering I'm applying to a position that just opened up at my local LBR store.
  24. Of course, B&N has jumped the gun before (oh, the cruel months I spent in anticipation of an Eames House that never was), so take it with a grain of salt until another verifiable source can confirm it. To be honest I'm a bit skeptical about the release date I found, since we normally have a lot more info two months out.
