  1. Yep, those are correct. $34.99 each, September 1st.
  2. Ah, I'm with you there. I do wish they would do a few more nice simple skyscraper models in the $20 range. I checked into the UN HQ and it's listed at $50, which I'd consider a plus since I figured it'd go for $60.
  3. The book could end up being really interesting; one of the articles said it's 250 pages, and most of that's probably given over to stuff like designer interviews and architectural history and theory since there wouldn't be much in the way of instructions. I'd imagine there will be other supplemental materials as well to account for some of the cost - this seems to be marketed much more toward architects and design enthusiasts than AFOLs (sort of along the line of the "Education" sets), so if you're just after parts, then yeah, you're better off with Bricklink or Pick-a-Brick.
  4. Stimulants and growth hormone inhibitors for the Gagne Child
  5. No, they're white - you can see the contrast with both shades of grey elsewhere in the set.
  6. I'm going to be running the Architecture Studio event at my store, but other than the price, I haven't gotten a whole lot of specifics yet. We should be getting more information within the next few weeks.
  7. Well, that, and a sizable design inspiration book, and as an architecture student you probably know how pricey those can be. The set's going to be $150, which is about par for the course as Architecture sets go.
  8. Well, just about every skateboard has a black top since that's the standard color of griptape. But I hate stickers more than I like movie-accurate detail. Speaking of which, after staring long and hard at what few pictures we have, I am pretty sure the flux capacitor and date readout are printed, not stickered.
  9. The launch events are being held at Barnes & Noble stores, but the set itself should be more widely available shortly thereafter.
  10. That's the UK release date. US store calendars have no mention of the set.
  11. Hayabusa included a minifig of J. Kawaguchi - granted, made entirely of already-existing parts. He wasn't featured on the main box art (just the 1:1 scale image on top), so I wouldn't completely rule out figs in this one.
  12. I just found out about a new product coming out soon called LEGO Architecture Studio. I don't have much info about what the set itself contains, but it sounds like it could be an updated version of the "Scale Model" sets of the early '60's (presumably with a wider range of parts). Select Barnes & Noble stores will be holding a launch event for it the weekend of July 26-29. EDIT: Full disclosure, I work for B&N. So I'll have more info soon, but can't guarantee I'll be allowed to share it.
  13. Kits 7-9 came out in May last year, but were abruptly taken off the S@H site a few months ago. Level 4 (Kits 10-12) will be released in July, and I believe someone said that 7-9 will be rereleased along with it. So if your daughter's willing to wait a little while longer, the kits should be available at a reasonable price again.
  14. I'd be willing to bet a Marvel exclusive will turn up early next year - around the same time Arkham came out this year.
  15. I agree! Batgirl seems like the most likely one to appear next. I think the most likely Marvel heroine would actually be Storm, if we get a new X-Men set.
  16. I don't think anyone has brought up the possibility of Super Heroes Brickmaster books yet, but I can see them making one each for Marvel and DC. On the DC side, Green Lantern would be a perfect fit for the format since the models could be literally anything as long as they mostly use Bright Green bricks. I'm not sure who I'd pick for Marvel though, what do you all think?
  17. I doubt it - although it doesn't look inherently "adult" in nature, the show won't exactly be kid-oriented like Ultimate Spider-Man. I'm sure they'll find some way to introduce a Coulson minifig though, since he's such a fan-favorite character. Maybe he'll figure prominently in the new Captain America movie.
  18. I'd imagine they want to keep roughly equal numbers of Marvel and DC Universe sets. That probably means, for now at least, that we'll see a lot of "comic book" sets on the DC side to keep pace with a Marvel line more rooted in the MCU and Spider-Man cartoon.
  19. Not sure if you'd count this one, as it's a standard part just printed to look like an instrument, but the Harry Potter set The Forbidden Corridor had a wooden flute piece.
  20. Nice find! Getting all those flagpoles to line up will certainly be a chore...
  21. Wow, finally! Thanks for the pictures. We had gone so long without hearing anything about level 4 I figured it had been cancelled. Hopefully I'll be able to get this one! I did levels 1 & 2, and accidentally part of level 3 (they shipped me the wrong set at one point ). I didn't learn a whole lot I didn't already know in terms of building techniques, but the instructions are super detailed and give a lot of insight into the design process. If nothing else, they were also good for loads of useful parts. It was certainly worth it for me, but then I bought them before the price went up. And no, you don't have to buy the previous levels to get them.
  22. I think it might be a couple of this piece?
  23. Oh wow. This might be the best Creator house I've ever seen. Thanks for the pictures! Looking forward to seeing the alternate builds up close.
  24. These all look great! And I'm with you on the Iron Patriot being my favorite. I'd love to see your take on the Iron Destroyer armor. (I don't know if it turns up in the movie; I haven't seen it yet either.)
  25. This is an excellent scene- and great photography too! I especially like the addition of the Friends animals - having such brand-new parts really accentuates the contrast between old and new.
