  1. I hope so, LEGO's Space themes were one of the main reasons I got into LEGO in the first place. That, along with Aqua Raiders and BIONICLE... as much as I love Star Wars, Super Heroes, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and all that other stuff, that stuff is much more expensive and I just want to have something fresh and unique! Most of LEGO's "Big Bang" themes haven't interested me that much, Ninjago's had some cool sets (mostly Dragons), but Legends of Chima? Nexo Knights? They don't do anything for me. BIONICLE came and went with no fanfare, and I have nothing left of interest aside from wickedly expensive licensed sets. I don't know, I hope LEGO surprises us with a dedicated space theme soon.
  2. Oh, ok... I thought you actually meant they were shotguns, cool! I might recommend using some 2 or 3-long black technic axles, like what they used on the Pharaoh's Quest biplane set : / Just an idea, the rifles work well, AND can function as mining accessories to boot!
  3. Really cool biplane! Gives me vibes from the plane in that Indiana Jones set... but in a good way! I like the smoothed edges of the wings, to give the illusion of an airfoil, nice! I do have to question the effectiveness of putting shotguns on a biplane... might just be me : )
  4. I'm a 2000s kid, the only Space Themes that had any relevance to me were Mars Mission, Space Police III, Alien Conquest, and Galaxy Squad, and I liked all of them! Mars Mission had those semi-realistic Human dropships and rovers and the alien ships that were wonderfully... alien, they just looked very organic and extraterrestrial. Space Police III was a theme that brought me and my brother closer together as far as LEGO interests go, it was just fun! The futuristic aesthetic of the cop ships contrasted beautifully with the ramshackle and dirty appearance of the criminal vehicles (barring the Lunar Limo, such a cool set). Alien Conquest was hokey, and cheesy, and awesome. The stereotypical 1950's Flying Saucer and Alien designs had a lot of character to them, alongside the militaristic ADU sets, I only wish I got a few more of the sets. I loved Galaxy Squad, and I can't quite figure out why. I loved the Galaxy Squad's various vehicle designs, from the sleek fighters like the Swarm Interceptor, or the harsher and more rugged look of the Mech in the Vermin Vaporizer, and I enjoyed the mechanic whereby the Squad's vehicles could split into other craft. The Buggoid vehicles I liked less for their functionality and more for their organic look and color scheme, despite most of the bug sets being worse off than the good guys (baring of course the Hive Crawler, one of my absolute favorite sets EVER.). Part of the reason I liked it may have been that I read Ender's Game around the time the line came out, so there's that. I wish some of those themes were still around, or that we at least had a decent Space theme now, oh well.
  5. I had an idea for a Mech owned by an 80's loving fanatic, with a living quarters area complete with a VHS player and various pop-culture paraphernalia from things like The Empire Strikes Back, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, that kind of thing... guess someone beat me too it! Looks neat!
  6. I like clean and- well- futuristic it looks! I myself like my Sci-Fi vehicles to "make sense" to me, so visible thrusters or engines, that kind of thing, but this little speeder is pretty perfect as-is! It would be cool to see different color schemes and utilities- Civilian models like this one, Fire variants with fire extinguishers or hoses, Police models with added thrusters, military variants with armor & weaponry, Sports models that are even snazier, etc.- stuff like that could be cool!
  7. I love it! Especially the mad scientist-looking detailing around the brain, that's neat : ) The only thing that would be more meta is if you made a LEGO Forum page...
  8. This is lovely... I love the transparent head-piece showing her computer "brain", it reminds me of vintage Science Fiction serial robots, like Robbie, or- there was this oldish cartoon on CN or Nick about a robot in Middle School, the name escapes me- but it reminds me of that also. I'm also floored at how smooth she is, hardly a gap or stud showing! The colors work wonderfully too, the perfect contrast between the azure and the flame orange-yellow. The only disconcerting thing to me is the mouth, I get what you're going for but to me it just looks like a single buck tooth. I've started to look past that, though, since the rest of the model is so very impressive otherwise : )
  9. I love your interpretation of him! I miss the big antlers, but they do get in the way of head movement. But, wow. I could see him lurking in the shadows of a massive Cypress tree, half-deep in swamp water, waiting for an unlucky villager to wade into his grasp... excellent model, sir! I love the use of the Knight's Kingdom shoulder armor, the shadowy loincloth, and how you brick-built the maw design onto his chest!
  10. I have a Vladek, but it's the latest one that came with the cannon. Cool creation, gives it a great vibe and I love the continuation from the first design : )
  11. As a kid, I personally loved the 2008 sets, including the Mistika. I had Tahu, Onua, Gorast, and Krika. I didn't realize how hated they were until a few years ago, when I watched some fan-sites video of the worst sets and saw people hating on the Mistika. Looking back... yeah, some of the designs weren't very true to the original appearances of the Toa, the silver is a bit much, and I would have liked to see more unique and fitting weapons, but... I can't say with any truth that I hate them. I have a lot of nostalgia for them, and I do like aspects of their designs. I think the insect-like Makuta were really cool, from Bitil's fly-like guise, to Krika's creepy Alien-mantis vibe, and Gorast's mosquito influences (I live in Louisiana, and the bugs are killer here). The Toa I like decidedly less so, but I still like things with them. I wish Onua was bulkier (could have swapped Gali's body build and fit better for a super-strong Toa of Earth) but I loved his mask, almost Kraahkan-esque. It's weird, but I always enjoyed them even though they're not amazing by any stretch of the imagination. Just my thoughts, you?
  12. Hiya! First post here, I'm excited to see the new sets coming out later this year. I really miss the days of BIONICLE when we would have product waves of at least 12 entire figures, as opposed the the maximum of 6 we had with the Buildable Figure's release, then 3, and now 2. That said, I am looking forward to some of the new sets. Boba's been on my wishlist since the start, and my 2015 Vader has mysteriously disappeared, so... I guess the new one will have to do. A B1 Battle Droid (or a Destroyer) would be cooler to me, but as long as that Super Battle Droid has wrist rockets, I'm set! And the 501st Clone and an AT-RT... I liked the OG Battlefront II enough already, but having seen the Umbara arc on The Clone Wars, it's my most anticipated set yet! I just hope the walker fixes the problem every LEGO Star Wars walker has had for a while, in that it has fully poseable legs. Nothing irks me more than LEGO mechs and walkers not having basic articulation despite the plethora of hinges and ball-joints that could get the job done. I would have loved to see Maul in his cool hood and cloak, as the current figure just looks boring to me. the function might be cool, perhaps an action feature that can move the arms in any direction? Like a hybrid between the Skull Basher and gearbox assemblies? I don't know. Han isn't going to win me over - ever - a classic Han might interest me a little, but not the one based off a film coming out in the summer. The Range Trooper looks neat enough, but I am sick and tired of the same old generic "Stormtrooper" build with these guys. I have almost every one of the Stormtrooper figures released so far (7 in my collection *cough cough*), and as good as they look, they're not impressing me on a building experience level at all. So, yeah, I just hope the new sets deliver!
