  1. Wow, this is amazing! Bounty hunters are always cool, and I LOVE the idea of one that's not a low-life criminal, but a respected celebrity! Gosh, I don't get how you guys have such insanely intricate builds for these models, everything from the waist to her wings to her tiny feet are really detailed. She's got a cool profile, and your color choices are absolutely impeccable, and I think give each of the elements an actual purpose. The yellow really pops, it looks like some vibrancy she'd add to be recognized, rather than as practical camo or anything. The Bright Violet looks a little more subdued, like it's actual armor she has as shoulder-pads and thigh/waist armor. The black feels more like a body glove and lighter armor (or her inner workings) that isn't really important. The azure jetpack looks great, it helps the wings really stand out against the yellow and dark purple, and could be seen as a separate accessory she bought and now wears. Or it's just to show how awesome her jetpack is, 'cause it's working. Oh, and that sword almost looks like it's glowing, the red works so well! Great piece, I'd love to see her fighting some of those droids you made ; )
  2. I love how bendy and flexible his limbs look, they seem so unlike most LEGO models. I don't know how you made that gorgeous spherical head, I love that! The red & black combo is always an awesome combo, I love the symmetry, and the shapes you use throughout; mainly the rounder, more mechanical red parts and the more uneven, organic black parts. I really like the triangular shape in the torso, and those black tubes in the waist look excellent ; ). Great model, I'd hate to fight one of these fellas!
  3. If they make BIONICLE Brickheadz as a thing, I am broke. This is so cute and clever and awesome, and that last shot of the lava lighting is just GORGEOUS! Replace the Brickhead with Tahu's normal face, and this is a normal but awesome display for him! The touch of having the mask be separate from the head is brilliant, that's awesome. The one thing I'd recommend is to replace his red eyes with pink ones, for accuracy... but otherwise, great work!
  4. I imagine there'd be different "classes" of ships, from "Hobby", "Intermediate", "Explorer", "Freighter", and a number of specialty models (Battleships, Racers, etc.) that would make it good for subthemes and variants. And, of course, we could always MOC our own sub-assemblies or ship bodies. Well... I did say "almost soley" didn't I ; ) Cool name! I suppose it would be that, maybe a little less civilian and with more bad guys... but I think it would be cool for some of the subthemes to all be derivatives of other space themes. Say, a cops-&-robbers line with the Space Police (each SP year being a separate department to get all the different color schemes, like Forest Police vs. Mountain Police vs. Swamp Po-Po etc.), an exploration themed one with all manner of Classic Space aesthetics, a Space Pirate one with the Blacktron faction, Arctic theme with Ice Planet, a space "military" with stuff for the Galaxy Squad, an urban civilian setting with Futron an in-the-neighborhood theme with the Life on Mars Martians, every theme you can think of could make a comeback. Not that I want it to just be retreads, I'd love a line with ecologists going out to a world like Pandora, or Felucia, or Darwin IV going to safely capture and study the lifeforms. But... bringing some nostalgia to older fans can't hurt : ) Sounds cool! Creator keeps passing me by, that would probably do the trick!
  5. Cute, I love the use of the BIONICLE head ; )
  6. I really want LEGO to make a fully fledged theme almost solely with starships. Maybe some sets for a hangar or port, but just spaceships with a myriad of different sizes, uses, and alien races and factions to pilot them. My idea is that- as a gimmick- all the starships have parts like engines, cockpits, cargo holds, weapons, scanners, accessories etc... that can be easily swapped around between the different sets. Something like you start out with a small hobby starship, a civilian use ship that's the equivalent of an SUV or something, and then you can build off of it to make anything you can think of. From simple stuff like a merchant's cargo ship, a government battleship, local police cruiser, or a space pirate's raider; to more unusual stuff like a tourist "bus" with sci-fi ads plastered EVERYWHERE on it, an ecologist's laboratory and capture ship with alien life aboard, a poacher's trophy ship (complete with mounted heads on the walls ), a space monk's sanctum and meditation bay, a mobile alien restaurant (or a food "truck"), the only limit is your own imagination! So, I hope we see something truly special from LEGO in the future, what do you think?
  7. "Smashing through the boundaries, lunacy has found me, cannot stop the BATTERY!!! Pounding out aggression, turns into obsession, cannot kill the BATTERY!!!" I keep finding your MOCs here, and they're all awesome! Great Matrix vibes here, the metallic silver you use looks so beat up for some reason, I love it! The tubes look really nice too, but is that baby an actual LEGO piece? To me it just looks like a plastic baby from a King Cake, but either way it's unsettling in a good way. Nice piece!
  8. Old thread... I personally loved Galaxy Squad. To be fair, I'm an early 2000's kid, the only Space themes I knew about (and really cared) about were Mars Mission, Space Police (3), Alien Conquest, and the obvious. I'm not sure why I enjoyed it so much. Maybe I'm just a sucker for Sci-Fi conflicts, or maybe it was because I had just read Ender's Game and the though of alien insects invading Earth was still on my mind. The vehicles were really cool to me, I don't see why people disliked the clear windscreens.Together with the colored accents, the vehicles felt clean and futuristic, gritty enough that I could see them being used in an alien conflict but colorful enough that the ships aren't boring. The Swarm Interceptor is one of my favorites, with the swiveling cockpit making the ship feel much more dynamic and alive alongside the folding wings. The gimmick of the Squadie's vehicles splitting into two or more extra vehicles was really nifty, I especially have a soft spot for the Mech in the Vermin Vaporizer, it was almost the sole reason I got the set! The bugs also had a cool color palette, the lime green and dark red looking bright, sickly, and poisonous; but I don't think their sets were nearly as good, if only because they could barely be posed and didn't have a killer function like the heroes. The one exception to the bugs mediocrity was the Hive Crawler, which is still one my favorite sets to date, it actually crawls and can fling eggs at people! I'd love to see one with Power Functions, now that I think about it.... I think part of the problem with the theme not doing well was the marketing and supplementary material. Sure, not every theme has to be as in-depth as BIONICLE or Ninjago, but something more would have been cool. Online comics, more info behind the Galaxy Squad and the bugs, even character bios! "William 'Billy' Starbeam: The hot-headed leader of the speedy Red Team, Billy will take on Bugs and make a show out of it. In addition to being a sharp shot with his dual-wielded blasters, Billy is the best pilot in the fleet, and will gladly remind you of it. Speeders, fighters, shuttles, you name it, Billy can weave them through the air as smoothly as an artist's brush. Billy's rarely faltered in battle, but when he has it's been when but his android sidekick Scarlet has noted these only occur in the presence of Ashlee..." things like that, ya know? There was such little additional material for people to get invested in, not like with Nexo Knights or Chima. I do think there was room for improvement though... there were a lot of cool ideas they could have gone with that I'd have loved to see. A lot of subtlety is lost with the premise of HUMANS VS BUGS, but it doesn't have to be. Heck, with some of my spare GS Troops, I replaced the heads with various alien figures, including some from Space Police and Alien Conquest. One troop I even made a red Buggoid! Seeing other races and even a few Buggoids themselves taking place in this conflict would have really helped diversify the figure lineup, rather than having Jack Fireblade and Solomon Blaze repeated in 3 sets. The idea of other races fighting with the teams would also be a tiny bit of world building, like all these people were affected by the bugs and are coming in to help. Having a few Buggoids on the team could be cool too, maybe an evil overlord put other members of their race under the spell of a hive-mind and they were lucky enough to escape the clutches of the Queen. The bugs were also lacking with their sets, and all the villain's vehicles were outmatched by the Squad. I always hate when themes do this, the villains should be powerful and oppressing, a force for the underdogs to overcome, not some cannon fodder for the "good guys". I also feel like there was so much potential for future sets. The Red Team was pretty infamous for getting the short hand of the stick, as they were only in two sets and the vehicles they had were nothing more than speederbikes. The Green Team had it better, but the Blue and Orange teams easily took the spotlight. I'd have loved to see more sets with them, perhaps a battlepack featuring 4 squadies from each of the teams (perhaps some or all being alien themselves) with a Green Team barricade and turret setup to better show they were made for "Defense and Heavy Artillery". Why, I even MOCed up a prototype for it, and the barricades could be linked up in different ways or with each other if you had multiples. There'd be a bug equivalent, of course... 4 random bugs (probably 2 normal ones, a Mosquito, and either a Red one, Mantis, or an entirely new one!), but nice little $10-15 battle-pack sets. A big 50-70 dollar Red Team shuttle or starship would have been lovely, possibly alongside a $20-30 green team tank or ship, and another large bug ship like an 80 dollar Hornet gunship would have helped fill out the bug's fleet. I also desperately wanted bases for each of the sides, with the bug's preferably being larger. The bugs were always outmatched in the price and size of their sets, with the two largest sets both belonging to the Galaxy Squad, so a massive $125-150 base set would have been lovely. Something cool like "The Nest", it could have had a large, partially brick-build Queen as the main antagonist, and bio-mechanical bugs and vehicles everywhere, maybe being able to house or dock with other sets like the Hive Crawler. And a Galaxy Squad center with areas for each of the Teams would have been great, showing off the special things about each of the teams. Giant engines and a small fighter could be in the Red Team section, or sci-fi technology in the Blue section, little things like that. I'm bummed that most of the themes I really enjoy don't get too much attention. Oh well, those are just my nostalgic thoughts, you?
  9. Aww... that is adorable, I want him. I wish LEGO would make things like this...
  10. "Allllright, Pin-Heeead, yer time is up!" "Who you callin' Pinhead?" Cool dudes, sweet vibrant color schemes, I love how different they look, and especially the head & torso build for Armstrong. Is that one of those Creator Pods?
  11. That scarf. 10/10
  12. I feel ya. I miss stuff like Atlantis, Galaxy Squad, Pharaoh's Quest, fun little themes that touched on sci-fi/fantasy concepts, it's a bummer.
  13. Well... Blizzard announced that LEGO will be making sets based off the game! https://brickset.com/article/36213/lego-overwatch-sets-are-on-the-way I've never played it, but all the character designs are really unique and interesting... could Constraction/CCBS work for Overwatch characters?
  14. "The Devil went down to Georiga, he was lookin' fer a soul ta steal, he was in a bind he was way behind: he was willin' to make a deal. When he saw this young man sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hot... And the Devil jumped up on a hickory stump and said 'Boy, let me tell you what!'" DUN-DUN-DUUUN Sorry, that was the first thing I thought of, this is really cool! The fiddle build is adorable, I love the little details to accentuate his sophisticated-yet-pompous gentleman demeanor (The glass of wine, the ring, cane, golden keys), and the way you give him a sort of waistcoat with the feathers and bits in the middle. I'm also loving how you properly gave him eyes! Cool piece, he has a character that most other creations I've seen are lacking...
  15. Just watched the show... really great work here! Would love to see the brothers and more along with this, I can just imagine this guy singing opera in the distance!
  16. YES! I hate how most of the new Star Wars figures have those hinged elbow joints when the open joints like on 2015 Pohatu are sooo much better! I don't know why they'd try fixing something that isn't broken : /
  17. Thanks! I'd love to make more models of lightsabers, but I don't know if I have the parts required.
  18. Neat! The gold mixed with the bulbous thighs looked really bad to me, good change! Which reminds me... I've wanted to get longer limb pieces for all the Uniters I have (just Kopaka and Lewa at the moment), and you have no idea how much their stumpy arms bug me : / Lewa in particular looks amazing once you give him Umarak's trans-green arm bones in place of the ones he already has, I just don't have the money to properly Bricklink what I want.
  19. "I'M ELECTROOOOO..." Neat figure, I really need more Spiderman figures and villains, I'm so disappointed I didn't get the sets with Venom and Carnage when I had the chance.
  20. Yeah, it also helps that Obi's got that stylin' beard. I think we all would. Why would they make a Han Solo figure that doesn't look like Han Solo?!?!?
  21. Could Constraction figures based off of Cartoon-y characters work in your opinion? Things styled after something like STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, which really makes me want Ahsoka Tano and Asajj Ventress figures. Bright colors, distinct designs, I wonder if it they would look great, or end up like Luke, Finn, and Han...
  22. Oh, thanks! Again, I really want a gold holed stud to perfect Luke's saber, but still, I think it's better than nothing.
  23. Hi there, how are you doin'? So, I've wanted to make a post here for a while, I thought I'd start with something small that's been intriguing me for a while... set mods! Nothing major, no serious revamps or anything here, just lil' biddy changes that you've made to your sets to make them more accurate or to your liking. I'll start with a super-simple mod I made to my Darth Vader and Luke figures. (Sorry for the picture quality) I was always bugged by LEGO's use of the one Lightsaber hilt for every single saber, no matter how distinct they actually are. So, here's Vader and Luke with some more accurate hilts I made. Vader's was super simple, as you can tell, but I don't have any gold studs with a pinhole for Luke's saber, so it's not perfect yet. But, that was my little tweak, I'd love to see and hear your tweaks!
  24. Wow, this is so cool! I adore the strange, long, thin arms and lower legs of the fellow, and the colors contrast wonderfully. Those dark red shells make perfect eyes, I even like the mini build for his syringe gun! Oh, before anyone else says it... "Wow... this sauce is ******* amazing, you said this was promoting a movie?"
  25. Thanks Aanchir! I don't have to worry about sturdiness or colors too much since I'm working in LDD at the moment, but I appreciate your tips!
