It really flings them out there! It is mechanisms we have seen before, but coupled together in an ingenious way.- 1,124 replies

I too was interested. Would have been nice if there had been a video, but I am guessing, due to the pneumatics, it would be a bit clunky. Do them in your own time.

You have done well at getting images out of Akiyuki! Was great to see all those images of the mega ball factory. Do you have 200px images for Heart Chain and Peanut?

This has literally been keeping me up at night of late. Although it is not identical to the Akiyuki version, it is probably as close as I am going to get. (The 2x3, 2x8 and 1x8 plates are just for illustrative purposes.) The black gap is because Stud.IO can't do items stacked like this very well. Neither does it, as far as I can tell, support tiny adjustments in position. Thus there isn't much of a way for me to correct it. Previous attempts to replicate this have been 3 studs thick instead of 4 and didn't reflect the bracing visible in some of his images. One attempt used this: To address the half plate sized gap the arrows create. Which is a very clever approach. The problem is, this left some ugly holds at the back and you couldn't fit it into a solution which looked akin to what Akiyuki was doing. So in the end, I have gone with this: Which doesn't fit exactly to what Akiyuki has done, but fixes the gap issue and reflects the bracing. So, for now, that is good enough for me. The important bit is where the pins are at the back, using 4 x this: It uses 1x 2L and 2x 3L to brace it all together. Sadly, as before, if you tip the module, all the arrows fall out :P Thankfully, they only take seconds to put back in. One bit which I still wonder about, is what is going on here: Are those patches of grey and black evidence of plates or just reflections on the lift arm? I have no idea, either way. @9v system Can you message me or post here a link to your BrickSafe gallery (I am guessing you are using BS). I have replaced the Catch & Spin and Hockey images. I am using chonky PNG files to make the quality of the render reasonable.

@9v system If you can do renders for Peanut and Heart Chain as I don't have a file for those, that would be great! You can do the render of the stuck ball lifter, it is your project. You will need to create a thread for it though, which I can link to.

Not bothered about the Ferris wheel, but the spiral ramps are very pleasing to watch. Apparently it is up to v0.4. Very soothing kinetic sculpture:- 1,124 replies

Thinking about it, I may just make a mods thread and link to that from the original post. Seems far more orderly.

@9v system I have linked your EV3 thread on the front page if you want to make sure that it is up to date and sorted on the first post of that thread. Might be worth adding this thread to it, if it isn't there already: Obviously, this is only phase one, but it is a start. Will be adding the Catch & Spin mod done by @Thierry-GearsManiac at some point, along with Ball Factory v3 and the Cup-to-Cup v1.2

I am not sure there is a mpd files for Invisible Lift out there. All you need to know about the tyres, is that they weren't on the Akiyuki original and they weren't on the ReBricker version. They only appeared in the instructions by Blakbird, which I believe was a mistake. It does make the machine grab the ball more tightly on one of the 2 sides, but I don't think that is advantageous. It just makes the motor work harder. I had originally wanted to quieten down the Step Module v2, but to do so would require a fair bit of a rework, rather than the minor tweak I had originally envisioned. I have my own idea on how to sort out the input channels, which I will experiment with. That said, I am liking the look of your solution. Nice use of a less commonly used piece.

v3? Yes. It qualifies. Will also be adding the Cup-to-Cup v1.1 that I did.

Okay, what about, train in yellow, normal in white? How does that sound for you? That will help distinguish between the two!

Well, for the front page, they need to be 200px. Taking a big, high quality one and then resizing it down isn't going to look as good as just rendering them at 200px. That is my thinking.

That would be awesome, in relation to the cleaner. I have no interest in building it, but it is a beautiful machine and it would be nice to have it for people. Thinking about it, I might put up a generic BrickSafe account to put all the renders, files etc. on. Then share the details with a few users on here. That way, people always have access. @9v system Are they 200px width renders?

Only issue with your render is that the cogs don't exist in the colours you have used. What is the link to his site?
