  1. https://www.raspberrypi.com/news/raspberry-pi-build-hat-lego-education/ $25 and controls 4 motors.
  2. You can open it with Stud.io: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/download.page
  3. @9v system Can you add a little text by the v2 link on the front page, to indicate what the difference is between the two versions.
  4. They are new pieces basically, so are in current sets and orderable from LEGO as parts.
  5. You kinda wish this was all leading to some sort of amazing GBC, even though it isn't:
  6. This is worth noting: This is, as far as I can tell, the latest variation of the dropper. The instructions have a bunch of extra stuff on the sliding part, which isn't needed. Also allows for keeping all the back axles the same colour. Generally, the lighter, the better.
  7. Just had a look. I have 14 of those not used in sets. I am rich! That is what happens when you buy a bunch of sets 2nd hand, just for the wheels :P
  8. Is there a 5L link. I am only seeing a 1x6 L link.
  9. The biggest issue is that it is 1 stud out from the position of the original. Which means it gets in the way of all sorts of things.
  10. Just doing images to visualise the discussion The suspension moving above horizontal was the no. 1 issue I came across.
  11. The fact that we now have planetary hubs at all is an amazing thing! So I am very glad that LEGO brought them out. Here is an image of the 42099 approach you mentioned, so others can see what you mean:
  12. Yeah, it was just that the balls on all 4 points of connection were more versatile. All I can guess is that their were strength issues with them.
  13. It is a shame that LEGO decided to redesign the hubs. It makes their use far more restrictive.
  14. Okay, so the custom piece explains a lot of things. I tend to upload images to https://bricksafe.com and just past the link to the image in here. Thanks for the photos!
  15. So, I am looking to build @Madoca 1977's Avtoros Shaman. You can find it here: And here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-5360/Madoca1977/avtoros-shaman-8x8/#details Some time has passed since it was designed, new parts are now available and I want to build it with the new planetary hubs. Does anyone have any ideas on how this could be done? The new hubs have some unfortunately placed elements to them and the design of the Avtoros steering/suspension system is very tight. I have done some renders of the issue here: The IO file is here (For those asking, I haven't done the entire thing in Studio. I wanted to model this bit, to try and find a solution to the hubs): https://bricksafe.com/files/Ankoku/avtoros-8x8/Shaman_8x8.io Any inspiration/help would be much appreciated. Have been staring at it for days. Was hoping that the new liftarms with perpendicular holes might help, but they don't resolve the main issue. I have looked at the two LEGO sets that use them, but they take a far simpler approach. One of the main issues is that the linking arm needs to be at the height it is, otherwise the steering stops the suspension from having a full range of motion.
  16. It is getting bigger. It is getting rather impressive at this point.
  17. Fixed. Although I had to change the filenames as BrickSafe seems to have an overly aggressive caching system.
  18. The bottom section. As you can see, there are a lot of height changes. I am literally doing this as we post here, which is why it is a bit drip feed.
  19. This should be correct in respect to the top part of the dropper. Back: The main thing with the ball factory is to try and keep all the components disconnected and hand crank everything. To make sure the resistance is minimal.
  20. Some of his photos for one part of the dropper: https://bricksafe.com/pages/Ankoku/akiyuki-ball-dropper They key issue was that this piece: Was the wrong way around. I will take a photo of how it should be in a bit.
  21. Nah, the dropper is super smooth. Basically the mechanism for moving it left to right was wrong. Which produced a lot of unnecessary torque. I fixed that and it made it run without any issues. e.g. you run it by rotating the axle earlier in the drive chain and it doesn't really offer any resistance. That was before replacing the runner axles having tested them with the axle straightness tester. When I say "Fix", I just mean make it the same as the Akiyuki one.
  22. @HectorMB Do you have any photos of your suspension mod to allow for the use of the new planetary hubs?
