  1. In both images, they aren't my mods. They are what Akiyuki has on the latest iteration of his Ball Factory v2. I am basically, apart from adding of a few tiles, just replicating his exactly. A lot of changes have occurred since 2015. I have never had the slider bind to be honest. There is extra bracing to stop bending. You can see what he has done here: https://bricksafe.com/pages/Ankoku/akiyuki-shifter
  2. This highlights the height difference: This shows the gear position difference: I think it was the wall on the right of the render which made me realise the height of everything was out, as there was either a reasonable photo of video screenshot of it, where you could distinguish the individual bricks.
  3. Well, the entire factory needs to be 1 plate higher. The wheel height is just changed accordingly. Basically, it is one of those things where I never would have been able to fix it, if it wasn't for the original work done. Would have been too daunting for me. That said, the mistake with the height had ripple effects across the whole thing. The slider was wrong because there was no way to see it. I managed to work out most of it via slow motion screen grabs etc. but in the end got photos and confirmation from Akiyuki. So that one was mission impossible.
  4. Slider = Completely wrong. Bob = Little bit wrong. Wheel = Wrong height. Drop tower = Wrong height and the slide left to right is wrong. Also, how the counter weight and pull down mechanism is done is completely wrong. Buck lifter = Wrong, which makes it have an odd motion. This requires changing to both how the gears are position and the lifting mechanism. Pistons = Wrong. Unload Tower = Different in design. Bucket grabbing pieces = wrong. That is a quick summary.
  5. The original v2 is fundamentally wrong. So basically, I changed everything. If you look at the v3 thread, you can see many of the changes which were done because they were either wrong, or done because the entire thing was set at the wrong height.
  6. If you mouse over his name, he last visited 8 hours ago :P If you click on his name you can see what he has been posting.
  7. @9v system, @Berthil, @dunes: Just as a heads-up, LEGO Brick & Pieces has black bushes in stock.
  8. They are selling the files created by Akiyuki himself as well.
  9. Just noticed that the back of Catch & Release here is completely different and over engineered in comparison to the Akiyuki original. Image is from 2015, but remains the same in 2018. Makes me wonder if all that extra LEGO/Bracing in the instructions available here is actually needed. Okay. Bit more investigating. The instructions here seems to sit somewhere between his original version and his updated one. e.g. in his original version, he has the extensive bracing: But later on, he remove it. The instructions here reflect the changes to the position of the motor, the drop area, the inlet ramp etc. but doesn't reflect his redesigned back area.
  10. @9v system Congrats! That is a mammoth task! I am glad I don't have to do the Ball Factory v2 from scratch, but every single bit of it needs changing. So it is quite the ordeal.
  11. Bit dark, but this is my implementation of the know transmission. It is supported by a couple of 1x2 Bricks with Axle Hole. One of the things you notice, is that pretty much every photo from the 2012 period has differences, as he keeps improving things.
  12. There is so much to change, but getting there.
  13. @9v system Do we have a good side view of this section? I am busy correcting the IO file for the ball factory. Interestingly, he seems to have light bluish grey tiles under the conveyor belt? I have a photo where you can see it. I thought it might be 1 either side, but it seems to be 3 wide, under the whole belt.
  14. I wasn't that bothered until the bit at the end. That is trippy and impressive!
  15. @9v system That is way chunkier than I was expecting! More gears too! Managed to figure out the initial drive assembly. I am sure this is what you were trying to explain to me, but my brain just wasn't figuring it out. Just noticed the dropped ball in his photos :P Guessing the grabber dropped one.
  16. @9v system To be honest, for that sort of thing, I would be happier if we started to make the General GBC thread like this one on the front page. e.g. an image, links to instructions, part lists etc. Then we have one place for random GBC and another for Akiyuki stuff. Would make for 2 really good resources on here. Are you sure? All I can see is the mega plant.
  17. @9v system Is it on your BrickSafe? Also, is it any different to the instructions which are out there?
  18. @9v system It is okay. I will add the cup-to-cup. Not sure about the knob wheel drive. Probably, doesn't look difficult. I am guessing there is no syncing issues there really and a level of torque he is worried about. It is low on my priority list at the moment. I am currently trying to redesign the spiral lift a bit. e.g. there are lots of elements about it which I don't like and it doesn't run very smoothly. I have changed it from 4x 11L ribbed tubes, to 3x 12L tubes. The more recent 12L tubes are a lot softer. Also resigning the gearing underneath, as having gears sitting on Technic plates never feels like a good idea for smoothness. Currently, it looks like this: Clunky, but for now, it will do. Haven't got the bits yet, so I don't know if the design is a goer, but the 2x2 with the yellow connector works well. Where the 1x2 plates are, is where the hopper for the spiral lift connects. Which keeps the 1x7L thin liftarm in place. Also supports the hopper better. My only concern right now, is that if the spiral lift rotates too fast, the balls fly off :P At some point down the line, I will redesign the hopper, so balls don't get stuck.
