The Sun is a GBC module created by @PG52 The video of it in action is here: With his help, regarding additional images, I have created some PDF Instructions for it. The PDF file and Parts lists can be found here: http://kanatta.com/GBC/TheSun/ If you want to link to the instructions etc., please just link to that page, as it contains mods, additional images, credits etc. The parts list isn't included in the PDF as Stud.IO isn't very flexible with that sort of thing. The digital file is not currently available. Known issues: I can jam and doesn't have a clutch system to deal with that. It is also a self feeding module. @dunes is currently working on a GBC circuit friendly version. In the instructions, there is a mod to replace the curve at the bottom of the top ramp. This is to remove the twist the flexible hoses cause which pushes the top ramp into the wheel. Notes: For the most part I have used commonly available pieces in regards to certain axle/pin colours. Where this isn't the case, it was done for specific aesthetic reasons and you can of course use the more commonly available colours. I think I mainly just did this for "The Sun" sign. Thanks to: @PG52 for creating the module in the first place and for the additional images. @Doug72 for helping to test the instructions. Additional: I have also added a mod for the Cardan Lift and will be doing instructions for Akiyuki's Cup-to-Cup v1.1, which is the version he is currently running, rather than the one which got reverse engineered close to the time he created the module. These are and will be available here: http://kanatta.com/GBC/ Enjoy.

Not GBC, but it has some interesting mechanisms which could provide inspiration:- 1,124 replies

MPD is a file format LDraw supports. I think you need to use something like this: To convert the MPD into a BSX/XML file.

BSX as a file extension on Linux is: Bash Self-Extracting Script. As you can imagine, hosting companies don't want people to access/execute such files via the internet. So they disable that extension by default. You get returned a 404.3 status code. Which is basically: It may be there, it may not be there, either way, you aren't getting it. Since most servers are run on Linux, for both cost and security reasons, the likelihood of hitting that is quite high. Even a lot of .Net sights are now hosted on Linux. So yeah, the files could be there, but not accessible. Lesson: Always zip up your BSX files before hosting them anywhere.

Today I found the hosting server I use doesn't allow BSX extensions. So I had to put them in a zip file. Akiyuki does the same for the BSX parts lists. Similar issue?

Hopefully, he never considers stand-alone when designing these things. It just ends up being an added bonus. I don't mind him charging, considering how much attention he has brought to the world of GBC and how next level some of his designs are. I certainly would never have come up with the mechanisms involved in doing the Catch & Spin module. I am kinda glad he did this module, as I like the idea of a module using the roller coaster tracks, but the Heart one was prohibitively expensive for what it did and it seems it destroyed itself pretty quickly. Anyway, this is the promo vid for it:

@Scottishcammy I can't help but think of Street Fighter right now. Hopefully this will help: https://www.bricksmcgee.com/blog/uk-afol-lego-events-2019/ The last Brick Live I went to (near the bottom) had a good GBC circuit. https://bricklive.co.uk/ A rather incomplete list: http://www.greatballcontraption.com/wiki/Upcoming_GBC_Events When it comes to Europe, just ask where @Maico is displaying. You should be in for a treat there.- 1,124 replies

[GBC] Egg Process Machine
Ankoku replied to RohanBeckett's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I looked into this not that long ago and what I found put me off. Yet that doesn't seem to be the case now. So yeah, just ignore my comment. In the UK and I am guessing else where, this seems very viable. Which makes me want to build it now! :P -
My model has a number of duplicated items, which I have done as sub-models. In the instructions, I want to be able to to remove the pages where these sub-models are added and just state: Do this 8 times. Just like you get in normal LEGO instructions. How is this done, since it won't allow me to remove pages in the instructions which are steps? I have tried putting the duplicates into a single step, but the instructions add a page per sub-model regardless. I can't remove the parts from these duplicate pages. I can't remove the page numbering. Which means that I can't even remove the pages after the fact, as it will throw off the page numbering. Sub-models and instructions don't seem well suited.

Trying to create some instructions and I want to align the pieces of a step so they are roughly central to the page. This is easy enough. Then I go to Step 2 and I need to reposition the camera to now centre around the new set of pieces added. The problem is, when I change the camera position in Step 2, it also changes the camera position in Step 1. How do I unlink this? e.g. lock the camera position of each step before moving it in the next?

When are we getting the good quality video of the Kraken in action? I have been gagging for that video for so long! :) Amazing work as always!

From what I know, the hats which hold the balls are not easy to get a hold of. ( The above doesn't seem to be the case. I am adding this addition after the original post was made. Leaving the original post to keep the thread understandable. ) -

I don't have a Twitter account, but I keep your Twitter feed open as a tab on my browser, as you post stuff on there which doesn't make it on to YouTube. I don't know Japanese, but I have friends there. I helped create one of the first university based anime societies outside of Japan in the early 90s. 80s/90s were a good era for anime. Google Translate is my friend. I have posted a number of your modules on this thread if you look back through the pages.- 1,124 replies

To upload images, you need to upload them to somewhere like BrickSafe.com or Flickr.com, you can't upload them directly here. I am just finishing off this module by @PG52: And would love to do your Orbit Overlap next. From the various videos it has appeared in, I can only ever see the front of it and the back has some important features.- 1,124 replies
