  1. Sweet. I like the MU connecting hoses. And yes, go for the decals: a little lily-gilding never hurt a U-boat.
  2. In case you're wondering the title translates to "Big Book of Lego Trains." Of course, it's great in any language.
  3. That's a very clever way to do the roof. Seriously cool. You probably know this but might have forgotten: "copula" is a linguistic term for a word that connects. As in, "That caboose is the cutest thing ever." In that sentence, "is" is a copula. The term you want for the part of the roof that acts like the pilot house for a paddlewheel steamer is called a "cupola." The conductor sits on a platform inside the caboose so that his head sticks up above the train, allowing him to see what's going on. I certainly can't criticize that sweet caboose!
  4. That thing's a fright. "Frankenstein" loco is absolutely right! I wish I'd seen it and built a version first.
  5. That's. That's *ugly*. Like, maybe the ugliest loco ever. Have I mentioned how ugly it is? Well. Of course I am *insanely* jealous.
  6. That tractor is *seriously* ugly. Love it! Bobber is cute as can be.
  7. That looks really, really nice!
  8. Oh, good job, @Hod Carrier That honey bucket is one to steal! I like both the honey bucket and the Guinness wagon. Nice to see both of these; they are quite charming.
  9. I use a (now very old--at least 25 years) HO MRC powerpack for my 9v trains. It works very well for providing sufficient power to the 9v motors; I've had 4 of them on the track at one time (2 2-motor locomotives). It also provides some basic sounds, although the choices are limited to "steam" and "diesel." No electric. And the sounds are fun, but not realistic. Since I hate running trains too fast, I never came close to either exceeding 9v or overheating the motors. I cut the wires for the power leads and soldered screw clips on them. That let me easily attach them to the track and just as easily screw the leads to the power pack. Since the layout is only a single block, without sections or polarity controls, this has worked fine. But it's not sophisticated.
  10. It's also sufficiently ugly to win some hearts. I like the body for your model, and think that it's about the best anyone could do. But I wonder about the windscreens. Couldn't you use https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=6567c01#T=C ? It's definitely made for 6-wide models.
  11. 404 not found!
  12. I vote for the green one. I'd like to see either one in real books, but that window for the "door" might not exist in dark green--and might be pretty pricey in yellow!
  13. Dual guage. Dual guage track! Sweet.
  14. @Tenderlok Yes! Thank you! @zephyr1934 is right, that's good work. I'm no fan of steam, but this build is both charming and clever. Great fun! And yes, please, get yourself a Flickr account. Even I have one! It's not used, but it's there if I need it.
  15. Be still, my beating heart. I love this scene: the engine, the wagon, and the minimal but dead-on scenery. Close enough to perfect. Metta, Ivan
  16. I have an ad blocker, but have it turned off for Eurobricks. I also don't have external content blocked (that would put a serious dent in browsing!). I see lots of others' external content with no issues at all. In other places, I will often see a blank spot but with text that says, "View this content on Twitter," which gives me a link to click on. But I've never seen that with Eurobricks. ... I do Facebook but not Twitter. I can try searching there, I suppose, as long as I don't have to sign up. ... Your username is "The Lego Railway Series"? Metta, Ivan
  17. And there are no links to twitter. How come others can see images to discuss them, but for me there's nothing: no links, no images, no text saying, "Go to X and search for Y," only blanks. Metta, Ivan
  18. Holger. Everyone loves your book. Metta, Ivan
  19. Please! Not my kneecaps! Metta, Ivan (computer geek since the 60s)
  20. Yes, please participate! These are both charming, and they meet the criteria. Very admirable critters. I like the yellow & grey one best myself, but I think the British Racing Green one may be most prototypical. If you have the bricks you should build one in real brick. Very nice. Metta, Ivan
  21. @Hod Carrier Agreed, simply amazing. You've got the "eentsy-beentsy" category all sewed up. Metta, Ivan
  22. Sweet! That's a kind of loco I thought about making for OcTRAINber--and gave up on as not able to be built satisfactorily in 6-wide. I like yours anyway, @Tenderlok. Metta, Ivan
