LEGO Ninjago 2019
JJ Tong (zfogshooterz) replied to Chilis's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
More pics out at instagram. Dope armor there! And the snake head looked more refined too. Also an "ice zombie"'s head is shown too. -

LEGO Ninjago 2019
JJ Tong (zfogshooterz) replied to Chilis's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That would be interesting, but looking at the pictures that's showing the back of them, it doesn't look like they are covering any minifig heads. The snake head just looks like a head. And I'm not sure about this by a long shot but the "skin" (of the darker colored "snake") that the mummy garb didn't manage to cover looked to be snake scales. Of course this is just my speculation. And now that I think more about it, both villians factions of S11 are actually undead. -
[CONTEST] Benny's Spaceships Building Academy

I'm definitely in! Just confused about one thing on "just don't use the same palette". You mean don't use the same palette of a MOC/set that we're modifying or don't use Benny's palette? -
LEGO Ninjago 2019

I just saw the pics, damn, they're awesome. Literally fell in love with the prints and concept of the pyro snakes! And really happy too that there's some egyptian design in 'em! I'm definitely will want to pick them up. It's pretty cool that Wu's head finally has that braid. And definitely will want to see the Ice Zombies too! -
LEGO Ninjago 2019
JJ Tong (zfogshooterz) replied to Chilis's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Whoa, you mean as in Mummies? Those dead and buried in tombs? Wow, hopefully, that means they would have a tad bit of some egyptian theme there. Speaking of villians, the concept of two distinct villains factions is very interesting there! I am glad that this wave isn't the typical fire and ice stuffs. Personally, I find that material quite stale after Chima's fire & ice theme and waves. -

Whoops! Forgot to vote on round 3, sorry about that. Anyway, did vote on round 4! - I picked 8800 Vladek's Attack. I really dig his siege tower. Close ones is 7953 Court Jester as I like Kingdoms stuffs and 6044 King's Carriage as that is a neat carriage for it's time.- 92 replies

LEGO Ninjago 2019

Looks like someone slapped the ninja hoods on the heads of Tracer from Overwatch. If you look closely, you can see all the eyebrows are identical. -

LEGO Ninjago 2019
JJ Tong (zfogshooterz) replied to Chilis's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That does sound neat indeed. I quite like the spirit animal idea. There was a point where I was wishing that the all the TLNM vehicles are all animal based or themed. Or at least have an animal-like head. For example, like Cole's Mech having a gorilla head since its body as gorilla shaped. I don't know. Since the Ninjas called their vehicle mechs, might as well looks more the part? -
Yeah it does seem so indeed. Maybe if they tried the Bionicle Inika style vibe it might work? Because that is sure as grim. Also! Thanks for adding Power Miners! If I could vote again I would add that too! Been loving that theme since I first saw it in 2010! It's a great concept, a worthy successor from Rock Raiders and aesthetically cool!

For how long will the LEGO company exist?
JJ Tong (zfogshooterz) replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Indeed! I don't see that much people who felt that way quite strongly either. While it is possible, however, there is always the case of the company not being satisfied if the themes that you like didn't generate profits. Which still leads to not everyone is satisfied. Like I said in other threads there's always a reason the themes got gutted. Like others said, losing customers is always inevitable. Always. I mean only in a perfect world if all the customers actually stayed. Which again......all comes back to a full circle of the other threads to this. And to be honest, I'm just glad Lego is doing something with the Original themes by doing Hidden Side which is start and that's something I'll be thankful of. -

By some keyboard mishap I accidentally posted it prematurely, it's all now written. Sorry about that. -

But that's the reality isn't it? There's no way everyone going to be satisfied. Take you and me for example. We both love Original themes. However, I consider The Lego Movie 2 an Original theme (as that's something WB and LEGO cooked up not taken from any licensed) while you didn't find TLM2 interesting at all. Also you loved the Throwbacks sets that TLM gives while I hardly cared about those and also find them to be the least interesting. I know it would be amazing to be at a point where everyone could be satisfied, but we have so many different opinions that there's no way that'll happen. -
Indeed. Now that you bring Bionicle up, I'll have to add that theme (Dino Attack) is also somewhat dark.

For how long will the LEGO company exist?
JJ Tong (zfogshooterz) replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
All right that makes sort of sense. While I will agree that while that theme didn't help the company recover as there are totally many factors that really have hurt that company at the time. I still won't jump into some conclusion regarding that theme now as I still don't know the full story yet as I'm still confused with the events of 1999 and 2003. However, I still wouldn't wholesomely applaud Bionicle as something that literally saved the company either. Based on what I read here ( https://www.businessinsider.com/how-lego-made-a-huge-turnaround-2014-2/?IR=T ) and said by many at this thread too, it seems that there are way many factors that the company needed to solve to stay alive and move on. And like I said, those factors involving major terrible management and decisions that results in many things that aren't needed like Galidor (you even said yourself that nearly killed the company). I'll be seeing it as Bionicle (and possibly Star Wars) more of buying Lego time from doom to get some answers to sort their mess as I'm sure by just relying on Bionicle to survive while not changing any internal practices is never going to work. Well, your past threads with you saying 2018-19 sets are trash-past sets are better, you personally being heavily against licensed themes while finding more reasons to disapprove them, it's hard to perceive you being objective. -

Gotcha indeed. Others has already mentioned that there are way other factors that have or could hurt the company. And licensed themes is still wholesomely blamed. And I'm still didn't get my answer on why he said that Star Wars (one of the factors that) saved Lego back in the days was a lie...
