  1. Thats quite some ship ... What about making the arch supports appear to extend into the cabin above ... Maybe extending that could raise the height 2 bricks and bring the whole cabin forward 3 or four studs ... Or keep the balcony where it is and slide the cabin forward then extent the balcony around the sides... Just brainstorming
  2. Why thank you Bodi ... Hightown ... I feel so privlaged ... Your more than welcome to the technique ... Im sure im not the first to shove them in an old door frame ... But then again I've not really seen it before ... I think technically its an "illegal connection" as it flexes the doorway a little until you get them in there ... But I'm not really too worried bout that unless I start snapping bricks ... Which I did the other day ... Was a sad moment detached an new brick from a 20 yr old plate and it tore the end off the plate lol
  3. Thanks ... I've always loved that type of construction ... Thanks ... The dark green was a last minute thing actually robbed it off my villa savoye set ... As well as the trans clear for the windows I cant take credit for the idea just the execution of it lol Thanks ... Taking the roof from a couple of builds ive seen on here and adding a twist to it The windows were actually old doors lol just popped the pane out and the fences in ... I was planning on stained glass first floor but couldnt get it to look right Ill have to look into that set ... This was a morph of a castle window i seen used once As far as the light ... I had planned for there to be a soft yellow light but my son dropped the thing breaking the bulb right before i took the pictures so thats why you see the background in the windows And to speak of the dust ... Thats over ten years of dust collection from 5 different states lol its off the villa savoye one of my few models thats displayed year round lol ... But i agree looking back it stands out lol I have plans for an interior but not sure of the time frame ... I need a different approach to the windows and the door if building an interior lol not a very good inside \ outside model im afraid But thanks again all for the comments
  4. Gustaf was growing tired of sleeping in a spare store room at the Salty Shipworks so he decided to erect a home. After all if he was to keep up with the idea that he was just a landlubber businessman then he needed to fit in. So plans were drawn and in his spare time he completed the structure. He even did some landscaping to make it look less like an old tavern. Ooc: Finally got around to building a residence ... No interior for now ... This will be licenced as a small residence in Charlatan Bay Thanks for looking c&c welcomed
  5. Very creative cropping it made the scene seem like much larger great story telling and impressive flower. How did you accomplish the lean in the arch ... Or is it just a photo trick?
  6. It would be interesting to see a break down of actual ship levels used during the mrca compared to profit avereaged per level used per faction ... If that made sence
  7. The ship turned out quite good there's alot of little details to appreciate ... Wouldn't mind seeing a picture of just your cannons. The offices are really quite similar ... The changing colors of the leaves made me chuckle. Good job all round for both of you
  8. If you enjoy this kinda thing i say go for it every month ... I actually like seeing this breakdown as far as helpful for me ... Not so much but its definately interesting to see the way it works out.
  9. Im in the same boat as you so to speak ... But im threading wheel hubs lol ive got one mast done just need to finish the other its quite time consuming Now y'all are just being a pair of boobs lmao I have to agree with this about the curves lol but i think if you put a raised quarter and raise the forecastle you could keep the flat center and slope both ends together to give an apprarence of curve Well as far as the ship goes ... The current hull was scrapped ... Took a nasty tumble ... Salvaged what I could and its been rebuilt on a friends white hull ... Admittedly the wider hull is much easier to acheive smoother curves ... Im not given up on the small hulls but for now this has been migrated ... Working on a snot rear hull is my challenge ... Will try to get pictures ... Currently I have three ships in wip status ... The brothers in blood, this one which is unnamed and ive been revamping my black pearl.... Maybe if i could focus on just one ? Lol so many new things to try.
  10. I actually really like the technique you used ... I would never had known it wasn't a full structure if you never showed the spoilers. Clever camera work indeed good job
  11. Im always jealous of these builds in this scale ... Mine never seem to work out so well Fantastic ship ... Looks very well built ... And a great scene to boot
  12. Unfortunately there is not much "natural light" when I take my photos since i work an off shift i build in the twilight hours lol i actually have heavy curtains over the windows so lighting is my downfall ... I need to get a couple of positionable lights... My other challenge is i have to photograph when my boys are sleeping otherwise i have trucks and little fingers in the shots lol. The build was really fun ... I actually struggled for a min on how ... Rather what bricks to use for the still. My city concrete mixer saved the day though ... I actually struggled with the Lyne Arm and Neck ... I just couldn't come up with a combination of elements that looked right the old palm tree trunk really worked out well IMHO. The arch was a last min addition as well as a few other small details im sure you can spot from the pre-changes picture in the pms ... I was wanting to keep it a clean look as all the pictures I've seen of "colonial factories" have a lack of ornate details. As far as the story I really Tried to tie it together with the style Pombe started out with ... And gracefully loaned Professor Glycol to do so
  13. This has an almost georgian feel ... Quite a lovely state home ... And the archway is fantastic
  14. Great addition to the settlement ... Should save the cannon factory some transport costs lol
  15. Really like the way you photographed this ... Made it seem much larger than it is ... Like the woven stories as well
  16. Add a third mast and call it a painted frigate lol Im not familiar with Ldd but could you simply recolor the brey brown? Its not a bad looking ship.
  17. A Distillery has been added to the settlement (medium factory)
  18. Haha I love it I love the err um capitan yea thats him lol.
  19. Im really impressed by the macro ... The zoomed in version of the flower it truely is great ... The ruins turned out well ... I like how you tied in the sun tower ... And the map ... I only wish I had handwriting like that lol ... To much time in mechanical drawings im afraid
  20. I like the treehouse nice work
  21. I really like this effect i need to order some trans studs ... How many would you guess you used here?
  22. Wow ... Just wow ... First thats a lot of DBs secondly but most importantly the build i love the engineering that went into this ... And such a common hiding place for valuables I will be borrowing elements in future endevors hats off to you
  23. Dramatis Personae: Previously, At Fuerte Unido, Isla de Victoria, Eslandola... Capitan Larvey I was told your the go to man for large scale fermentation the new plant we discovered. Ferm ... T.. What are you going on about is this more of your science lady Glycol? Why yes it seems Im really on to something here the product seems to contain certain hallucinagantic properties that when yo... Let me stop you there I've got no use for your science just give me the sea. My Science has produced the next greatest liquor Capitan Larvey! Booze? Well why didn't you just say so ... I'll get started right away lil lady Glycol So after searching the Capitain Discovered a perfect location he bribed payed the local powers that be the licencing fees for his distillery production was soon underway. Here you see Hammond and Monty returning from the Jungle with more raw ingredients Larvey and his crew loiter around keeping away the riff raff ... Or are they the riff raff ... You can see even the local monkeys love this stuff. An overview of the distillery. The local powers that be are inspecting ... Well one is the other seems to be thirsty. Capitain Larvey added a contraption called a thumper. And two worms in cold water to speed up production. Here Cookie mixes up a new batch of mash Here you see matchstick tending to the boiler fire A toast gentlemen ... And err lady. Man I sure am thirsty.... OOC: this will be licenced as a medium factory this was a fun build ... Sadly i had to pul the stickers off my cement mixer but the effect was well worth it I think. To be continued ... Comments and criticisms are all welcome!
  24. Welcome to waywardmart get your shiP and get out haha
