Alternatively if you routed the power wire back to the coach you could keep the power truck under the tender a jumper from the coach to the tender with a little slack wouldn't be too horrible... I use this method with the wires from my tenders to my engines
-
So a box car or combination/baggage car with powered trucks and the Battery inside should due the trick since your already pushing a couple of the engines anyways I think the rods look swell major improvement over technic any day

That would be neat a fig looking out the window at the town! -
Field Hospital near Charlatan Bay

This turned out quite well! I like how you came up with the back stories of why each is being treated. -
That is good info to know!

I would love if you snapped a pic of it! My original plan was to put it on a flat car (I have an old picture somewhere of just this.) They would remove the trucks and crib up the loco on a flat car. The trucks were on a separate flat car. This was done when transported on standard gauge to be offloaded onto narrow gauge. So no motor or fuel on board. With the PUP I found it easy to "hide" the battery. You can definitely use the original "redwood" log car. My original plan was to hide it in some smaller logs stack . . . But I couldn't resist the loader. I also have pictures of Ritter lumbers Shay pulling a boxcar so that could be a solution. Or possibly putting the battery in the caboose and jumper wires between all the cars. Does this make it identify as the batman m motor? Interesting how you moved the cab entry forward and extended the roof rear. As far as the hijack I'm not upset... It's good to see how this model has been interpreted by several people.

Quite a grand state room there captain... And a well designed fig!

Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion, ERA II
Roadmonkeytj replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
You can make a new post and link it here if you have a lot of pictures or a long intro story. You could also post a picture of your sig fig with a short back story as a reply to this thread. Can't wait to see your intro mate! @Professor Thaum is our liaison to the court if you should have any game issues. -
Can the Sea Rat AMCRA be granted a 2 week extension if we submit our paperwork by the deadline? Or do we just wait a turn? @Legostone @Bregir

I'm glad you like it! It seems when everyone thinks of logging in the states it's focused on Pacific and northwest with steam donkeys and log lines and great big hardwoods (similar to the one you originally hid the battery in). Most of the logging in VW, VA, NC, TN, KY areas were done with Mule teams. The problem is most of these mills were a temporary operation and would only be set up for as long as the wood held out. Most Appalachian Logging railroads were 8 -20 miles long and then they moved. Then as tech opened up loaders and skidders became the replacement for mules.

I can say a major thank you too you... You saved me tons of engineering on working pistons and driven trucks ... And they really needed no redesign! I think that's what is brilliant about your train... It doesn't need improvement just stylize it to your rr!
-
It comes off as Russian to me... But well designed I like the way the details pop and at different layers

Really great work here! And putting it on a lovely scene. The photographers are my favorite part
-
When I first looked at the prototype This part: Originally came to mind snotted upside down. However looking at your windows... I think they are "in scale" to your model although not a proper scaled sized. The train looks good standing on its own... If it really bothers you then lengthen the train. Great work

Very lovely indeed! -
Did they run two truck or three truck shays? There was a "light shay" as well Honestly I'm confident this design could be reworked to a narrower gauge... Might have to get creative on the connection point though.

[COR aMRCA] A Diplomatic mission
Roadmonkeytj replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Flavius Gratian @Bregir The voyage from King's Harbour to King's Port should have been quick and uneventful. Unfortunately for the expedition, however; a strong squall struck only days after leaving port. The particularly nasty weather knocked the ships of the fleet around quite a bit and after the storm had passed Cooke surveyed the damage. His experienced eye quickly determined that the damage was largely superficial and looked much worse than it really was. The fleet would still be able to make Terraversia directly. Options Only one of the following options may be taken this turn. Onward to King's Port. The mission is too important to delay. Press on to King's Port despite the damage. Surely the Terraversians will not take us any less seriously because of a small storm! You will reach King's Port this turn Show the tattered expedition arriving in King's Port. One build required. Planning a Grand Entrance. With the other powers already on Terraversia we must make a good first impression. The damage to our ships makes us appear shabby and weak. We should repair the damage before making a grand entrance to King's Port. You will not reach King's Port this turn. Show the fleet making temporary repairs either at sea or in a nearby non-Terraversian port. A small sum will be deducted from the treasury to cover the costs of the repairs. -
Thanks for sharing! It's amazing how we all inspire each other... I love your emerald consist any pics of it?

The motor is easy the battery is the challenge. @koalayummies This is a well designed little speeder and the track is marvelous

@bogieman So your splicing 2 pf motors onto a pup plug or your splicing a single pf motor into a pup motors wiring?
-
I like it... It's got a 9v era feel but still looks prototypical compared to the photos! Are they stickers from other sets or did you replicate official decals?
-
I like the way you've detailed the hub... Does pressing the 2x2 jumper stud plate activate the hub or do you need to remove it? I love the ladder grill it's great parts useage

I love the bit of history you capture in these! Well done. I questioned the Red at first but in reading I see some had been painted this way. The tank motor is great too. I think that's a "u" clip from brick arms... Or brick warriors ... I can never remember lol
