[MOC] The Daily Press - Alternate build for 10278 Police Station
Maple replied to Versteinert's topic in LEGO Town
Much better use of sand green than the useless weird side of the actual set. I also didn't know there was that much blue. Looks really nice. I'm really kicking myself for not buying a Corner Garage on ebay last week for $135 missing some of the roof and the baseplate. I find it a really odd set but if you can do this with the Police Station anything is possible. -
The Pond and the Christmas Carol set were both last year and both amazing. Both for $150. But nope, this year we get the biggest piece of garbage Christmas set LEGO has ever made and $170.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Maple replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I know. I regret not getting it during the last double points in October, that's when it sold out. Amazon had it on Friday for normal price and it sold out there today. The Kohl's set was Assembly Square and the Black Smith because they had good deals on those. -

It's not even light grey, it's light light grey. It's a CGI thing so I don't even think it's a real color. -

Kohl's no longer has any of the big exclusive sets. Sold out, no longer listed. Sadly I kept meaning to grab the Corner Garage. It's my least favorite set in the modern series and the reason for the $200 price point we now get every year. But it looks like it's sold out. I was only going to grab it now so if I didn't want it in a year I could sell it for twice as much. haha -
Which Lego YouTube channels are best these days?
Maple replied to Lego Mike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I find all the videos to be super annoying with Jang being best because his reviews make sense. He isn't as chill because he lost a bunch of income because YouTube sucks. It's why he does Twitch and such now. I could tell you which channels I hate the most more than which ones I like the most. -
That's nice. It's 'simple' (two main colors) and elegant but very detailed. I love the use of windshields for the windows and that curve around them is just a few pieces and stunning.

Another station heading for 10,000 on ideas
Maple replied to Tube Map Central's topic in LEGO Train Tech
What we really need is to just make stuff locally. All problems solved. I really like 7997. If it had a little more depth I think the style is perfect for LEGO. 4554 and the red version are classics. What I wanted to do is something similar to this Ideas but the modern glass part connects to the back of the Disney Train Station. -

I'd buy that if/when it makes it to Bricklink. It's really well designed, smaller and not as huge (expensive) as the one in the next BL round. -
I think the theme needs to go back to the days of several smaller side builds. Which is funny because I don't own any of them. I was looking at the bakery and it has the nice little rink, the Fire Station had a fountain, and the Train Station is the last set with a vehicle. Amazon USA briefly had Belle’s Castle Winter Celebration (43180) on sale for 45% off. I'm curious if anyone has that in their display to add a little color.

Well it's LEGO so any set can be modified into a modular.

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
Maple replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
It will be in the next month because LEGO will have to add it to the website. Why don't we just all wait and see. -
I actually think the Monkie Kid set would look a lot better if it didn't needlessly add neon yellow. The color is nice, but just having it in a set that didn't need it is annoying. I think I'd like the set more if it was a different color.

2022 Friends Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
Maple replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Town
I have the Friends rescue treehouse thing, the one with the Friends elephants, it's actually really awesome besides the fact I wish the slide was purple and not pink. So the more treehouses the better in my book. However I like food and buildings most and the apartments seem really interesting and I'm curious to what it's like. Look at the $150 Monkie Kid set, so this apartment could be really nice.- 136 replies

Very good eye. Something new is going on those joints, I'm not sure what. Makes a lot of sense to improve mech joint pieces with LEGO making so many mechs. And as a 90s child, I would have died for a LEGO mech (and roller coaster).

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Maple replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Nice scam you are trying there. haha -
It's hard to compare sets from one year to the next. I feel MK sets are better values with each year. The first wave was really bad with the prices. I figured the City would be $180 as that would seem to be the normal MK pricepoint. Plus there is that horrible City Hall set that's $200 and this looks a lot more filling for $50 less.

I'll bet you $100 that the set will be revealed sometime within the next 35-36 days. -

The Monkey Kid rocket is $130. -
These keep getting better and I love the black and red monkey baddies. They are my favorite of the theme. I'm glad they are reusing those pieces and fit and feels different, unlike the over overused NinjaGo modern day snakes which I loved and just over now. I do love the fact the big set is modular, but the coaster around the set really makes it pop to me even though it does look good in street form. The prices bother me. The City of Lanterns is an amazing value I'm afraid is a mistake. But then there is the Moon Cake set that has hundreds of less pieces as the mech and only slightly cheaper. I haven't bought any Monkey Kid sets yet, mainly because of no sales and bad prices, but I love the pieces and the theme is a lot of fun. I still miss Hidden Side but MK is a blast too.

You are awesome. Everyone here is so useful. I completely forgot about that. Some life stuff has come up so everything is on the back burner. -
I just bought Candy stage for $13 on ebay. I really like the cheerleader guy.

In other news when I ordered the Bricklink aquarium I ordered two sheep. They came in today. I think that's less than two weeks. I record for B&P.
