  1. The set is 50 Euros which is $53USD. That includes a 20% VAT tax. So really the set is 40 Euro without taxes. The roadplate cost $2.50USD on Bricks and Pieces. You can 4.5 of them for $20USD, meaning they are $4USD. The set is $70USD and doesn't include tax. The roadplate has very little to o with the price of the set. LEGO is price gauging the set because they know people want a grocery store. It's that simple and we need to stop making excuses for it.
  2. I just don't get the point of combining the services. What did that do? Just leave Pick a Brick how it was and increase the prices of Bricks and Pieces to a level that cut sales down to a manageable, profitable system.
  3. Then discontinue it. I don't get the point of 'combining' Bricks and Pieces and Pick a Brick into a mess of a service. Either improve one, both or get rid of them.
  4. Oh yeah, because that's what I was staring at earlier today, like 'how is this possible' and the skates piece is so simple. Brilliant. I will never buy the set, but wow LEGO designers, you deserve a raise.
  5. I got another police station on ebay, this time the 2022 one. I have now gotten four or five police stations for half off and yet in my whole like I think I have only gotten one fire station for a similar discount.
  6. That might just be for Europe. In the USA the new set prices are already much much MUCH higher than the Europe prices.
  7. The messenger bags is one of the most creative things I have seen LEGO do in recent years. Very well done.
  8. Shhhh.... you don't come around here with that logic. LEGO only made two billion dollars in profit last year, they can't spend a tiny tiny tiny amount of that on hiring people.
  9. I just realized that the Freight Train has 400 more pieces than the Passenger Train and only $10 more.
  10. That's okay because we also get the sets at much higher prices! I did get a brand new 60351, the Launch Center set for $90 on eBay.
  11. On this we will have to agree to disagree.
  12. On what? I agree with you the other banks are nicer, just expensive.
  13. 60140 from 2017, used, is more expensive now than it was when it was released. I do like that set because the bulldozer is awesome. But if I can get the new bank for $60 it be worth it as I like the bad guy truck. (All the other vehicles I'd sell.)
  14. 90% of LEGO fans don't live near a LEGO store. But go on defending LEGO's screw ups because... again.... cultist.
  15. Neither does LEGO anymore.
  16. $13 discount is nothing. Double points will give you $10 back. Then there is Honey that gives you money back and GWPs.
  17. Anything less than 30% off isn't a deal.
  18. The retire sets aren't 100%. LEGO changes their minds. Ideas Treehouse and Assembly Square were supposed to retire years ago, never did. If sets sell well why would LEGO retire them?
  19. That's because you are in the LEGO cult. I'm in LEGO groups and there is a lot of annoyance over the useless chances LEGO has introduced. LEGO are like puzzles, they are fun to build. No one cares about the name 'LEGO' on a brick outside the cultists, they like the building experience and quality control. However there is no longer quality control, the prices are insane and I know several die hard LEGO fans asking about what knock off brands on Amazon are decent quality.
  20. I'm still trying to find a deal on the Bank and overpriced school. I got all the overpriced space based sets besides the rover. So later releases are fine by me.
  21. My last two B&P orders from before the change over.
  22. I only buy the full set. I just bought the $150 Spaceport set for $90 on eBay. The Moon Space Station for $40, The Friends School for $35. Mostly just because of sales in other regions and / or beat up boxes. If I want animals I buy the knock offs. Two cows for $3.50? Several big cats for $5? Yes please. I'm not a cult loyalist. Sadly the Safari sets have not been cheap on eBay but I'll keep looking.
  23. You be better off Bricklink or eBay it because the insanity of the price differences between countries. I agree, i looks great for a 4+ set. I just don't like the tractor. Not like the last one was the best thing ever.
  24. If anything the Stuntz sets should be $15 in the USA. The 20%+ VAT tax should be taken out of the USA price. But that's why there is eBay. I just bought 60351 for $90USD instead of $150.
