Nope, I love ronenson's brick built zig-zag. I was talking about the back of the engine with the snot cheese-wedges. It would just be a nice finishing touch I guess.

Great! I'm looking forward to it when you get some time. They really look like quality stickers. Is there any way to include a thin red stripe that continues around the back side of the locomotive (about 1 plate thick)? Just a thought but I don't really know what's all involved in making stickers like this.
-
Yeah JopieK, I'm sure your stickers are a lot more future proof! Also, I think the wings on mine are a little too small... I checked out your store and wow... that GP38 sticker sheet is great! I would definitely buy an SD70M sheet, I might buy the GP sheet just for the minifig overalls!!! so cool.

Thanks, I'm worried about them flaking off. I've never really built models but the directions on the decal sheet describe using some sort of clear coat to cover and protect them. I am ok with making them permanently stuck on the pieces but I am worried I'll turn what looks nice now into a disaster if I start to mess with it. There's also the decision of using glossy v. matte clearcoat...

OK, so I finally put HO model decals (from eBay) on it and LOVE the way it looks. I bought O scale first but they seemed to be a little too big for some reason. While I'm happy with the way they look, I'm nervous about rubbing off the decals, they seem a little flimsy. However, I would honestly say that I like it more than the Maersk engine... Thank you ronenson for a fantastic design!

I would copy the official Maersk bogie. It is made to be replaced by a PF motor (sold seperately, of course). :) Page 60: http://cache.lego.co...ons/4654998.pdf

Modded mine. Looks great, thanks for the lxf file!!! I don't think I could bring myself to change anything else... Maybe add landing gear

Could I get a message too? I will buy a set for the UP. Thanks!

Oops, I missed the part 2 topic somehow. I love this locomotive! It was my first multi-order Bricklink wanted list project and it was well worth it. I have it on a shelf with my Maersk engine and it dwarfs it but the scale seems about right. I ordered and built it exactly as is from LDD, however, I am planning on running it on 9V rails. Therefore, I don't have the infrared sensor in the nose. It feels a little heavier to push by hand than the Maersk but less than the Emerald Night with its tender car if that helps give an idea of the size of it.

I've never built an engine with with 3 axles on power functions but as someone who has bricklinked this engine, I can tell you it looks fantastic. That being said, I've made a few modifications of my own including the nose. I'm having a hard time finding decent stickers and thinking about using Microscale O guage decals if I can find them somewhere other than their website because they don't ship to me. I'll put pictures up after "ronenson" has a chance to post his as it's his creation.

I, for one, am still waiting on my order to show up so maybe soon you'll get an answer when more of these things have been built. Hope it fits its shelf, I kinda leaped without looking...

Cool locomotive! I keep trying to build something in UP colors, but mine never look quite right. I'd also be interested in your LDD file. I'd like to build it using "muddy dark gray". <- never thought of that but your right Duq, it is muddy. :)

Windows on the side of the town hall might add a little character, if your OK with changing it. Maybe a park in there somewhere.

MOC/WIP Yet another Small PF Shunter

Green looks great! Can't wait until my kids are old enough to blame my Lego addiction on them, I mean to play with them. -
So ready for this!!! Beautiful. Anyone have any info on the bottom? I'm curious about the landing gear situation or lack of. Oh big thanks to cavegod for suggesting using soapy water to get the stickers on right, it still scares me but sounds like a good idea. I've never heard of this before.

Yeah I agree, I've seen people speak many different languages on here from time to time. I was just trying to make a new person feel at home that's all. Won't happen again. Good luck with your EN, there are lots of great articles out here to get it to run smoothly. Any updates?

Beautiful caboose Cale, the blue really stands out! Out of curiosity, how difficult would it be to put another "real" window in the center of the bay? Does it look out of place next to the cheese wedges? Love the bogies and no buffers, I keep meaning to update mine.

Fleetwood MOC - proposal for a different car for 10232 Palace Cinema
wondermonkey replied to ER0L's topic in LEGO Town
I dunno, it reminded me of the original Batmobile's colors and shape I guess (especially without the roof). I like it though! -
I'm enjoying your blog, lots of good stuff on there. I have to admit that I am impressed whenever I see someone commit to such an enormous bricklink purchase. I've played around with the wanted lists but never utilized it in such a massive way.
-
Definately an upgrade! Nice rims.
-
I see a few on bricklink for under your max price in the US... Although I'm sure shipping could be an issue. Good luck, it sounds like you're checking the right places. I hope you find one!
