A fast and cheap way to store your trains. Here's how.

I've seen so many good ideas on this thread! So far I'm planning to: 1. Remove stairs to roof 2. Build in a separate projection room 3. Add curtains to upper floor or brick over windows on inside... something, as long as it preserves the look of the building. 4. Remove the ninja weapons from the points (maybe them to give Raphael ) 5. The car... eh I don't know, I could easily part it out and not miss it, we'll see 6. PF lights connected to a 9V train regulator! Maybes: 1. Build it into a regular full width building 2. Buy a second set to facilitate above 3. Upgrade to color movies with my old iPhone worked in tastefully somehow 4. Stadium seating 5. Bathrooms!

Ok here's the door closed. The large picture is fairly level, looking up a little... think street view. The smaller picture in the corner is looking down more at a normal angle I guess. Note: I've added a transparent blue door section between the clear sections. I'm intending on replacing it, but it's growing on me.

Triple Review Special: 60002 - Fire Truck
wondermonkey replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Town
Interesting to see them that way, I don't often think of a laddered fire truck as being smaller than a garbage truck. I guess in a way though I am glad it isn't too much bigger or it would be hanging off the baseplate in my Fire Brigade. With a little modification it seems to be a pretty decent fit for that. -
Absolutely! Some great thoughts.

I extended the building all the way back to the back edge of the baseplate. In the picture below the truck is actually touching the front rolling door so this gives me a little extra room to work with. The back doors hang in the air pretty high and I am thinking about replacing them with brick built doors. Originally, I was only going to lift the building up 1 or 2 plates but I couldn't find a plate compatible with the groove for the rolling door so I decided to lift the building up 1 whole brick. I had to add another section to the rolling door as well. From a low angle there is a small slightly noticeable gap between the rolling door and the red pieces above it. If I lower it 1 plate it interferes (totally stops) with the movement of the door. *Edit: Woohoo I'm Citizen finally!!!*

I'm not sure if you've noticed but the 2013 set 6007 (High Speed Chase) has a nice dark blue windshield like the one the Santa Fe Super Chief used.

I do that, or at least something similar to that with the extra cars, MOW vehicles, etc... For the engines I like the floating shelves that Brickster uses. They are very clean looking and can blend into home office decor very easily. -
I got my hands on it at the Lego store. I started to walk up to the checkout line to buy it. Then I put it back because it seemed too expensive at the time... oops.

Triple Review Special: 60002 - Fire Truck
wondermonkey replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Town
Great review, I can tell you you spent a lot of time with these. I got this set last night to replace the original old FB fire truck. It's been said elsewhere, but it just barely fits height wise in the FB bay and sticks out of the back quite a bit so some modding is required. I really feel though that it is a good enough truck to warrant a renovation of the FB bay. I've been waiting for a good replacement for a long time! -
Ok I take it back 60002 fits (height wise)! I still might make my FB one or two plates higher, we'll see. It is too long for the FB bay without modification, so I will start on that. Nice work with the custom fire trucks! I expect much of the same with the Palace Cinema limo. ;)

Highly doubt it. That being said, I'm buying one for my FB. Some remodeling may be in order.
-
Looks good! My Maersk needs a little variety.
-
Yes! I'd imagine a lot of those on the fence may change their minds when they see some of the variations from those who buy it and change it. Hmm. That's interesting... I love it, as is, but will be making significant modifications to it! I can't let anything just sit on a shelf without looking at it every once in a while and seeing something I'd like to change. My FB is longer from front to back to accommodate an updated fire truck, it had a helipad on the roof for a little while. I found a second Queen Anne's Revenge on clearance and knew I had to make my original twice as big... same with the Creator Lighthouse... Even my Emerald Night, which I dearly love, looks very different! It's the primary reason I enjoy this hobby of ours.

Awesome. It reminds me of the taco truck on Big Beach (Maui, Hawaii). Yours is more colorful though, I like that. Your table (I assume) even looks like beach sand. Maybe if the front of the truck was more angular and less curved like the picture below, it might work out better. You could then move the windshield forward 1 stud and move the door up to line up with the white stripe. Great idea for a MOC!

WOW! How long does it run? It must look like a sideways Christmas tree! (In a good way) :)

I can't wait to see everyone's interpretation of how this modular should look! So many great ideas. I am wondering about the chandelier though, I can't recall ever seeing one in a theater. Is that common in Europe? Maybe I just go to crummy theaters, I dunno...

Poke in the eye with a stick... Ugh. Who woke up andythenorth??? I'm not strictly a purist, I love watching what people like Locomotive Annie come up with but come on its a kids toy/hobby. No need to run around poking at people with sticks.

Yep, first thing I thought of was BNSF too. Thanks for the inspiration, I think I've got an idea... :)

Quite happy. I've been to a small theater like this to watch "Aaah! Zombies!!" on Halloween...and loved the experience. The posters are beautiful, the colors are great and the stars in the sidewalk are a really neat touch. Seriously worse than your low expectations? Not me brother, I'm getting it on day 1. (Oh and if you haven't seen Aaah! Zombies!!, do it. Wondermonkey gives it 2 opposable thumbs up.)

Love it! Much more enjoyable to look at this way. I never noticed the Turtle Blimp or Turtle Van blueprints before.
