Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Actually, I'd think that background noise would be a massive detrac from the functionality of a record studio. -
Hey, does anyone else think that Woody's new hat/hair combo mole would be good for McCree? Not perfect but better than what's in the official set?

I'm a little bit disappointed that the train is a freight train, not of the passenger variety. But I can live with that; it seems I was wrong and it doesn't include a full loop of track, but it DOES include a completely new track-to-road adaption piece. Which is cool. For anyone who hasn't seen the pictures I have, the Train does have a major transformation feature; in addition to the front bonnet opening up like jaws, the sides have panels that open to reveal a pair of wings. It also has two carriages attached to it, the easier-to-see 'glass capsule' car, and a fairly-mundane-looking freight car that should be easy enough to slot into a city layout. It even has graffiti on the side! . . And a pop-up turret to be operated by Jack. Not what I was expecting, and I'm not entirely sure that this makes it worth the price hike . . but it's still the most interesting train we've gotten since Toy Story 3 (which I missed) so if I can get it on discount it'll do! (After all, it should be easy enough to add a passenger carriage and take out the capsule car.) Aside from that, the Banana Truck and Diner are definitely real standouts. The Graveyard still looks fairly good, if not quite a standout. And is anyone else seeing the guy with a printed helmet and a cape hanging out of the truck? I wonder what his deal is. All in all, exciting wave that makes me antsy with anticipation. Can't wait to see these sets in action!

To be honest, I'd like a reboot. Preferably soft. I'm getting a bit sick of the 'formula' - granted, the SOG/Hunted/Oni saga was spectacular, but hopefully the Summer wave won't just be a return to the 'structure' that we saw from Rebooted to Hands of Time.
-
Aww, really? I preferred the pink.
-
Well, I know they're Amazon exclusives in Australia. Which is very very annoying. I mean, I'll still get them, but not being on shelves makes it harder. I'm not sure if they really at the official Lego shop yet, but I'm headed out there tomorrow so I'll find out.

Jurassic World 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
You might be on to something. I thought that the Jurassic line was continuing because of cross-promotion with the Lego Movie 2 dinosaurs, but there's isn't a single raptor in this line. Maybe they are preparing to retire the oversized raptor mold? -
Jurassic World 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Wow. These are not what I was expecting but they're pretty awesome. The Dilophosaurus and Triceratops sets are love letters to anyone thinking about building a proper Jurassic World Amusement Park (which I wasn't before but I am now!). And I'm pretty sure that yes, that is an amusement park ride based on an egg incubator. I can't imagine why anyone would ask for that. But now that we have it, let's make the most of it, eh? I'll admit that, being practical, I probably have to pass on the Godzilla vs. Mecha-Godzilla Rexy vs. Robo Rexy set, but it looks amazing all the same and if I happen to have enough spare cash and spot I think on sale, then . . The Baryonyx set is the only one that's a little disappointing to me; mostly because of that tiny rendition of Owen's trailer. Is it seriously only four studs wide? Boo. The proportions are a bit weird on the Baryonyx herself, too . . EDIT: oh, wait, no it is six-wide. Still horribly boxy, though. Also; 'Danny Nedermeyer'. LOL. -
Actually, I hope for the opposite. The point of Hidden Side (as far as I can tell) is that every set has two 'forms', right? Normal and possessed? I hope that the Train follows suit; a 'default', ordinary appearance, and one for when it's been taken over by ghosts. If it's anything like the old Monster Hunters train, it would completely defeat the purpose - and since I'm really hoping it can at least be MODded into a relatively normal-looking train for my layout, I'll be very disappointed if it's a full-on ghost train. Please, Lego, find some compromise that can keep everyone happy!
-
So, looking at the part counts and prices again, I'm seeing that the Train is $30 more expensive than the Bus, but only has 9 more pieces. I think that means that this Train is going to be an actual train, and includes a loop of track to run around. Big parts like tracks are the only explanation for a discrepancy like that. It might even include a motor!

Hey, crazy theory, but remember that white/red three-tailed wolf we all thought was a leak for Ninjago? What if it's actually for this theme? If it's supposed to be a kitsune-esque thing, some interpretations of kitsunes have them as mischievous spirits.
-
This theme looks fascinating. I love the massive transformation feature the school has. Unfortunately, I just don't have a lot of use for a school when I already have Hogwarts in my village layout . . pity . . so I hope that the other sets have similar transformation features. I'm particularly interested in the Diner and the Train - I have been waiting for an interesting, non-City, non-Harry Potter train since coming out of my Dark Age in 2015, and it sounds like I might finally be satisfied! Woohoo! The lab looks interesting, and seems to confirm that there will be other minifigures in the theme beyond . . wait, do we have names for the two main characters yet? The no ghosts thing sucks, but I still have some leftover from Ninjago, Ghostbusters and CMFs. I should be able to make do. I can't wait to see the other sets! So hyped! And if this does last two or three waves at least, I hope to see some residential houses. And more transformation features. Please. I WILL MOC THEM IF I HAVE TO.

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

It does look like it rotates at the elbow. Which is strange, but should make it easier to modify with elbows. -
Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Huh. The bike actually doesn't look bad . . but it's seriously just Cap and three Outriders? I guess if that's the only set Cap come she in, I can just get it and combine the head with an older suit for a full time suited up Captain America. Although, honestly this does not make me optimistic for the prospects of getting a Cap in his full suit in the Compound set, because then there'd be no reason to buy the bike set. As for the Jet, can anyone actually see all the characters included? I can see Thor and Rocket, but I can't tell who the others are. Help? -

I'm hopeful that there's will be some way to combine them, because unless there's something severely disappointing about one or both I'll probably get both. -

Where's the picture? Not on #Legoleaks that I can see. -
Actually, kinda do need it to be attached to a base . . This is the best idea I've heard so far, and some tests I've done using parts from my Pirate Roller Coaster seem to confirm. Thanks! I think I'll go with this.

LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

So there's a leak going around showing what is supposedly the Kylo vs. Rey Duel. It looks weird, though, and not like an actual set. Thoughts? -
The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The new sets all look amazing! I was looking forward to the Sparkle Spa, and boy does it not disappoint. I'll probably need to modify it for my layout, but I will make it work because that is just too awesome not to. But the big set is definitely the best. "Queen Whatevra's So Not Evil Space Palace'. That makes more sense . . though I suppose this means no 'This is not an Evil Lair! It is a Space! It is a So-Not-Evil Space!' joke. XD (No spoilers haven't seen the movie yet.) I'll admit that it's confusing as to whether this set is trying to be microscale or not, it looks like the first two levels, including the interior rooms, and the balconies, are all fitted to minifigures, but the bubble 'Escape pods' are all tiny and only the main one for the Queen herself is big enough for a minifigure - and considering the Queen is supposed to be so large . . come to think of it, though, this might just be a 'shrunken-down' version of Queen Whatevra. Again, no spoilers. But either way, this wave has not disappointed, and I will probably get all three of these. -
I haven't looked in-store yet, but it's showing up on Kmart's website in AUS. So I don't think it's exclusive.

I was unsure where to put this, so since it's for part of a layout I figured Town. So, I want to build a more-or-less circular 'turntable' divided into sections of more-or-less equal size, each containing a vignette. It's going to end up on a shelf, so the idea would be that I can turn it around to see each part of it without having to take it off the shelf. But for the size I have in mind - don't know the exact dimensions yet, but I estimate a 32-stud diameter - I'm worried that a standard 4x4 turntable subassembly won't be enough to support the weight. So I'm asking Eurobricks; what can I build, legally, that will support this much weight and still be able to turn smoothly?

The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I feel the same. Don't forget that Grey Classic Spacemen are a thing too since the Rocket Boy CMF. Plus we might get new colours, like the Pink one before. Perhaps an Orange or Purple Classic Spaceman? -
The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I know the vehicle is unlikely. But the simple fact that that helmet exists in green indicates the possibility that we will get it in a set. And that's more than we've seen for any potential rereleases of the Red and Black Classic Spacemen, so . . it's something, damnit! -

I could see that. Some kind of elevated slider mechanism that flips the 'stand' upside-down to make Tony vanish and the suit take his place. Could be fun!
