  1. Well, the last set for the theme leaked. A playground with Buzz, Bo Peep and the yellow doll whose name I don't know. It's actually pretty cute, and that doll minifig is tempting . . I might get it. I do have some empty park space in my layout . . if it's priced reasonably, then hmm. :)
  2. There was a leaked set list that said we'd see three Minecraft sets in the summer. I think it was a Sheep Farm, a 'Burning Bridge' (probably a Nether set) and a Creeper Mine. In order of size ascending. Can't wait for pictures!
  3. Naah. This is still a discussion thread, we can keep discussing the 2019 sets ad infinitum. No reason to close it. At least, no until there's adequate reason to create a Marvel Superheroes 2020 thread.
  4. Did we get her name confirmed? When?
  5. When the sets were first revealed, I guesstimated the Quinjet at $100 AUD and decided I wouldn't buy it for that price. Suck it Lego, you're just giving me more reasons to buy less of your product. According to Shop@Home, War Machine's priced fairly reasonably (Kmart will likely mark it down from $50 to $40, which I can stomach) but they expect me to pay $40 for Cap's bike after making last year's Outrider Attack half that price. Not gonna happen. Serioeuly, does anyone know why Lego's been marking their prices up recently?
  6. $90 for the Hall of Armour? megablocks! That is worth $60, tops. Probably less. -.-
  7. I love the prominence of Vibrant Coral in these sets. The only ones that really stands out as potential purchases are the sub/shipwreck and the lighthouse, but these all look great. Yeah I could definitely see that lighthouse on the edge of my Docks area. I've been looking for something to brighten that section up . .
  8. As for the other sets, the donut shop looks exciting. Can anyone tell what the other thinfs in that set are? I can see the donut shop, a crane (for putting the donut in place no doubt), another shop whose function I can't identify and I think that's a mailvan? Any input? Also, I know this isn't City technically but hot damn that Creator mini-modular building looks brilliant! Hopefully it'll be priced reasonably . . it looks exactly like the sort of disused back-alley hodgepodge building I so often see from the train windows in Melbourne. I have an entire suburb where nothing's taller than two floors, so having this to poke out above the skyline is gonna be perfect.
  9. The space sets look pretty spectacular. My favourite is definitely the orbital space station. Not sure if I'll get any - I'd personally prefer some proper Classic Space themed stuff, and I'm not sure if I should accomodate two separate themes of space mission in my city layout - but that space base would be a great thing to have suspended high above my layout . .
  10. Oh wow . . this is underwhelming. The Land-Bounty is obviously the worst, at least as far as I can see; it just looks like a massive mess. Granted, they're putting a boat on wheels so I guess that was to be expected . . Katana 4x4 doesn't look great either, but from the looks of things it'll at least be a good mini figure pack. The big Fire Snake . . the images we have of it are pretty bad, I cannot even see what minifigs are included, but it doesn't look so great either. Conversely, I actually like Cole's bike a lot. It looks sleek and badass. And Lloyd's mech . . holy moly that thing is gorgeous. I think we might have a contender for "best Ninjago mech ever", maybe even "best official Lego mech ever". I'm usually not interested in ninja vehicles unless they're easily repurposed, but oh my god if that thing is priced reasonably . . One thing surprises me; is the tiny outpost and the fortress all we're getting for the Ice Samurai? Because they both look like fine sets - the wyvern looks very nice, and the fortress is . .well, tiny, but it has room for improvement and I'll definitely be interested to take a closer look at it. Another interesting thing; they've added new golden pieces to the wheels that act as reinforcements or tracks. I'm seeing two distinct styles between Kai and Cole's vehicles, it'll be interesting to see how those turn out in the final products. Overall, though, with the exception of Lloyd's spectacular mech this is a disappointing wave. I probably won't skip it entirely, because the ice samurai figures are too cool (hah ice pun), but this is honestly the least interested I've ever been in a season of Ninjago. Most likely scenario, I'll skip the fire snake side entirely and just get the Lloyd mech, outpost and ice fortress. I guess it's more money to put towards Hidden Side. Also, the new Spinjitzu tornadoes are now in the actual sets. Means I don't have to waste money getting a couple of the actual Spinjitzu Master sets currently available. Cool. EDIT: A leaked set description refers to the variants of the ninja with the spinjitzu tornadoes and energy hoodpieces as 'FS'. FS Nya in the 4x4, etc. Sounds to me like a return of when we had specific names for suits, like DX and ZX. Anyone want to speculate what FS stands for?
  11. Don't you know? All spacemen have to shave their heads because of . . pressure! And . . science reasons! And . . the hair-eating aliens that live on Mars and are secretly fighting @Digger of Bricks's spacemen for control of the Moon!
  12. Wow, some really fun new parts that I can see, including what I suspect is a brand new accessory pack a la Power Blast and Spidey webs. Not sure about some of these sets. The Tumbler/bikes could be fun, undecided. They look like they have potential to integrate into my Ultimate Batmobile, but I'll see them reviewed before I decide. Batwing looks unbelievably goofy - and that applies to everything in that set, not just the actual Batwing. Hard pass. Standard Juniors fare, meh, though the Arkham set is actually oddly appealing. Must be the sand green. The Batcave . . hmm. It's interesting for sure, but I was somehow hoping for more. Plain recycling of the 'transformation' feature bugs me, so does that pathetic imitation of TLBM Clayface. But the Batmobile makes me happy for one simple reason; they finally did one that's >10 studs wide! It's street-legal! It can run on my city streets and not force everything off the road! Thank you so much Lego! That's my only must-buy of the wave, though I'll consider picking up the Batcave on discount just because I don't have one yet, and bikes to reach a decision pending review.
  13. Nope. The Movie Bounty is a lot closer to Scale to the in-universe Bounty than the 2012 or 2015 incarnations (which will probably hold true for the rumoured Land Bounty, which I'll almost definitely pass on). But it's only about half the size of the one from the movie. The weird thing is, the set version of the Movie Bounty is bigger than both the original Bounty and the Bounty 2.0. But in-universe, the Movie version of the Bounty (which also appeared in SOG, Hunted (as wreckage) and March of the Oni) is actually the smallest of the three, as far as I can tell.
  14. So, when can we expect to see pictures of the sets? I want to know what the builds will be like. (I would love to see a half-decent pyramid.)
  15. Duke Caboom's Show leaked . . . to be honest? I am looking at this set and thinking "why does this exist?" As for getting it . . eh. If it's cheap enough and Duke Caboom turns out to be a good character, then maybe. But definitely only if I have leftover cash sometime.
  16. That looks brilliant! I missed most of the first two years of Elves, the mini-dolls were a turn-off for a while, but I got some of the third-year stuff on a heavy discount with the intent to integrate it into a large role fantasy layout . . that's been shelved for now due to space limitations, but I still have a half-finished Goblin Village setup in a cupboard. If you do a goblin village of your own to add to that, might I suggest putting an incarnation of Rosalyn's hideout nearby it?
  17. Yeah. I'm hoping to find Iron Skull Sub Attack (with Iron Scuba) for something around $40 AUD, best so far is $48 . . I'll keep looking. Bricklinking just the figure would be cheaper, but I'd rather pay more and get the entire set than pay half the price of the set and only get one fig.
  18. I got into the 'collecting Iron Man suits' game super late. Outside of the four that actually come with the Hall (I mean I already have the Mark 50 from Infinity War, but still), the only Iron Man suit I have is the Mark 45, and that's only because I happened to find the Iron Man vs. Ultron Set from a few years back cheap on eBay a couple of weeks ago. Not counting Igor, I've built eight slots into my Hall (with room to expand) but only have five suits, six counting Iron Spider. So yes, I do intend to get the Quantum Iron Man polybag and put it in the Hall. Even if it's just as a placeholder to fill space until I get more actual suits. (And if anyone can recommend ways to get the other older ones at fair prices, particularly Heartbreaker, Scuba and Starboost, I'd appreciate it a lot!)
  19. Yep. I'll change the torso design do that only the head part opens and the chest part is fixed in place, condense the width of the torso to four studs rather than six at the shoulders, which will let me use some SNOT to wrap around the fig structurally. Maybe some of the arms will be a bit exposed, but given Igor will mostly be viewed from the front while on display I can live with it. I'm also going to replace the ball joints on the shoulders with rotating Technic pins. If I do that and replace the 1x2x2/3 curved bricks on the shoulders with tiles, that'll limit the width of each shoulder to 1.6 studs - if I do all that, then at it's widest point Igor should have space equal to the thickness of one plate on either side of my eight-stud-wide display case. I'd prefer to have a minifigure pilot, but if need be I'll settle for just having a head on a jumper plate. I've been laying the groundwork on my Hall for weeks, just need the parts from the official set to finish it. It's my first MOC (MOD?) that I'm really proud of and feel like is up to the standards of 'real AFOLs', so I'm going to post pictures on here when it's done and hope people like the design. I hope they go back to older MCU sets too. Particularly Iron Man 3, I want the Mark 17 but it costs so much on the aftermarket . .
  20. I actually really like this set. The main build, anyway. It's well designed, looks sleek and chunky at the same time and even though the part choices and interior design work betray that it's a hodgepodge with parts incorporated specifically for the sake of the (admittedly piss-poor) 'alternate builds', the end result looks well-designed and satisfying. After seeing the movie, though,
  21. Really? I plan to decrease the bulk - though that might be so that it can fit into an eight-stud-wide 'case', such that it's twice as wide as a standard suit. As it is it's eleven studs wide, because of the shoulders, so that's what I'm going to modify most.
  22. As has been mentioned before, Mark 50, not 85. Bones is most decidedly Mark 41. And if you think the Mark 1 isn't bulky enough, then might I suggest Bricklinking part 85961 in silver (as seen in the Lava subtheme of Power Miners) and using that to make it bulkier? Personally, I think it looks fine with the Boba Fett jetpack piece - IE, how it comes - but hey. Either way, HoA is a day 1 purchase for me.
  23. I've been setting up construction of a large Hall of Armour MOC that I plan to integrate the official set into. I obviously want to get thst done ASAP, so I'm making that my priority. We haven't seen the Australian prices yet, but I'll probably wait to get Cap and War Machine on sale. Although, unless you're more invested in the minifigures - specifically Iron Man, I do feel like War Machine would be the better priority.
  24. It treated the source material like trash, reduced most of the characters to two-dimensional caricatures . . . okay those are my main two sticking points but they're big ones.
  25. So, finally saw the sequel today . . OH MY GOD I LOVED EVERY SECOND! Well, okay, not every second - the Bruce Willis scenes in particular seemed out-of-place - but it was awesome, hadn't a great message, and I am honestly wondering why it's not being more successful than it is. Still, glorious movie, well worth the price of admission. I really hope this won't be the last Lego Movie. The Ninjago Movie was bad, but the other three have all been excellent and I want to see more, damnit!
