The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Having just finally seen the movie, I can only say . . WOW. It was so perfect. But, in terms of future sets? . . I dunno, they covered most of the things that could be covered already. The only things I can think of are a Harmony Town house set, Benny's crystal spaceship (it will be criminal if we do not get Wedding Outfit Benny!), maybe the Rex-Wing fighters, the Duplo UFOs, and MusicBeard. Oh, and Unikitty's Castle (I can dream). Of course, they extrapolated Benny's Space Squad out of that one scene during the Queen's first music number, so I guess anything's possible. please Lego give us Unikitty's castle please -

Oh, and what does Australia count for? Chopped liver? I would be so down with a Marvel minifigure pack, though. -
I sure hope so. I'm noticing that the ghost tentacles piece is exclusive to the boat's mariner minifig as far as I can see, which sucks because it's a lovely-looking piece. Meanwhile the ghost wings piece appears in both the high school (two of them, even!) and the truck. So if there is is another set, hopefully we'll see a repeat of that accessory.

Well, we do have the beginnings of that in the massive tree with eyes and arms that shows up in the Graveyard. Definitely looking forward to that, by the way. Oh! What're everyone's top priorities in regards to the eight sets? The Graveyard and Diner are at the top of my list, followed by the High School and the Train. Maybe also the 'Banana Truck'. Definitely passing on the Bus, though . . as tempting as the haunted Porta-Potty is. Might part that out on Bricklink.
-
I certainly hope so! It would be a serious waste not to have some sort of 'ranch' set at some point in the future with a ghost horse and a Headless Horseman-styled 'head swap' element. Or werewolves. You can never have too many werewolves. Hopefully not more vampires, though, I got enough of those for a while with the third year of NK.

I'd also like to add as an aside to this that it looks like the app will partially rely on the new Bright Light Coral colour, which . . given it's appeared in exactly one non-HS set so far . . . yeah, good luck.

LEGO Disney Minifigures & D2Cs - Rumors and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
It might be just me, but I'm pretty sure that Frozone's disc accessory is the same piece as Polka Dot Man's flying dish from two years atom, but unprinted and in grey. Thoughts?- 961 replies

Flama's head gear, maybe? Maybe also his head, the red version from Magmar's Siege tower anyway. Moltenman would fit in nicely with the fire monsters from Nexo Knights, actually. Hmm. -

This is awesome! Standouts and must-gets for me include the ducks, Frozone and probably Edna. I'm not too interested in the rest, except for that they finally did a new and accurate braid piece for Elsa! Controversial opinion here; Elsa and Anna actually look better as mini-dolls (maybe I'm just too used to it) so hopefully that braid part carries over into the Elsa mini-dolls of the Frozen II sets. If not, I might have to get it to update my Elsa. Frozone in particular makes me happy, he was such a notable exclusion from the Incredibles lineup and I sorely missed him. Definitely getting him. The rest aren't incredibly interesting, except maybe Hercules. Chip and Dale are cute, but I honestly don't know what I'd do with them. Also, is it just me or does Jafar's head look very squashed?- 961 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Oh man, these all look great! The Hydroman/Rialto bridge stands out the most to me; Hydroman looks excellent (I don't know what you're all complaining about, to me his extension looks fine), the build is gorgeous (even though I personally expected it to be a more detailed version of half of the Rialto bridge, so that people who cared can complete it by getting two). Molten Man looks amazing. The Stark plane appeals to me least out of these, but that's mostly because I really don't need another plane and Mysterious appearing in all three sets is kind of a waste. So happy we get Michelle AND Happy! Plus that new half-on Spider-Man hood part is epic. Almost definitely getting the Rialto bridge, even if I end up scrapping the build for parts. I know this has been said a lot, but why couldn't the Endgame sets have this kind of detail? -

Am I the only one thinking that the torso from the new Ernie fig from HP would be great for a purist Benjamin Lockwood? -
I love the new shoulder armour. Shaken it only fits one sword, though.
-
Well, what else could there be? Between the two styles of head and the shoulder armour, we have three new moulds introduced for the fire mummy snakes (we really need some official faction names.) but only two for the ice zombies - the ice helmet and chest armour. There's also the ninja's new shoulder armour, which apparently some of the zombies will use, and that massive new sword mould that mummies and zombies share, so six new moulds for the wave. I doubt we'll get many more. Maybe a different variant with normal legs?

MOC Ninjago City's Palace Cinema

You're misunderstanding me. I mean, why not put both floors on the 'upper level'? So the foyer is on the same level as the elevated walkway - where the upper floor is now - and then the upper floor is above that? So that the red tiled roof is on more-or-less the same level as Lloyd's house? It would make it taller and more impressive. -
Oh wow, yes! I like the white one WAY more than the gunmetal one we thought was the Emperor before. He looks badass! ^^ Here's hoping the distribution in sets will be convenient so I can get the white and red ones but not the gunmetal one.

I dream of a Marvel CMF series that could give us some lovely detailed Iron Man variant suits with all the dual moulding and side printing that seems like it only ever appears in CMFs anymore (I know that's not true, but it feels that way). It'll probably never happen, but . . maybe we could see Marvel stuff in the Disney series? Please? -

A HOA expansion - maybe comic-themed? - would be awesome, but unlikely. I would love to see Shotgun, Midas and Red Snapper. If we get new parts for the hands of Shotgun or Red Snapper, so much the better. Even though I feel like that might be a sticking point for Lego, considering how lazy they can be with Marvel. Custom MK2 isn't a bad idea . . Neither is an Igor that just hasn't a head and doesn't suit a minifigures. I remember expecting them to go that route, instead of the 'mini-Hulkbuster' design. I'm definitely going to modify mine, maybe make it seem more minifigure-like? I'll probably replace the ball joints on the shoulders wirh rotating Technic pins, it'll limit articulation but make it more accurate AND more compact. -
MOC Ninjago City's Palace Cinema
Fenghuang0296 replied to cjtonic's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Wow, nice! One question, why did you cut away the bottom part? The core Ninjago City is so tall, why not let the cinema match? -
Yeah, except it's white, not grey, moulded, not brick-built, and has three tails, not one. But hey, they both have four legs. Maybe that's enough of a similarity.

Yep, 76104 . . that was the plan, at least, my Hall is still a WIP. I'm also considering building a VERONICA satellite and attaching the Mark 49 and this year's War Machine 4.5 to it . . though I do want to repurpose the 4.5 for a MOC . . I'm undecided, much like the Igor suit. -
Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Undecided. My Hall of Armour is attached to my City layout; it's a Technic skeleton with bricks covering the framework that hangs under the side of my table. It's only eleven bricks below 'ground level' at present. I don't think Igor will be taller than that, in which case I can bolt on an extension to the side, but I'm not certain, so until I have him in hand I can't really say. (Incidentally, I also have the 'thrusters' from the Thanos Ultimate Battle variant of the Mark 50 hanging from the ceiling with the Power Blasr elements removed as a pseudo-chandelier.) Only a couple more weeks, though. So exciting! Soeaking of which, I have a similar concern about the Hulkbuster. The Hulkbuster/Mark 49 is obviously significantly larger than the Igor or any of the other suits, and it exceeds my height limit. The obvious option would be to bolt on a lower level, but I'm concerned that would make the hanging section weigh too much and compromise it's integrity.
