I think it’s because the sides of the buildings are so plain. The facades are fine, but both sides of each building are perfectly flat and textureless, as though the idea is to put lots of buildings side by side and make the walls flush with each other. But then the bases stick out by one stud because of those curved plates they’re built on, so (unless you modify it with plates from your own collection) even if you put them right next to each other there’ll be a two stud wide gap. Which is just too little space to not treat it as an alleyway between buildings, but just enough of a gap to highlight the ugly plastic flatness of the building. Myself, I’m going to arrange it so that they’re both right next to each other (and change the plates so that’ll work with no gaps), with one side touching a wall at the edge of my display and then cover up the other side with either a building or some kind of graffiti wall. Assuming I can get a good price. (I’m happy that it turned out to be just $100 USD, but how does that translate to $170 AUD?!) EDIT: Strike that, I wasn’t looking closely enough. It’s two studs on either side of the buildings, which is even worse. Could make a nice alleyway at least, but they’re just so smooth and unfinished . . I’m probably going to have to put aside a couple of 8x16s so that I can just completely rip off and replace the floor of these buildings. -

What happened to it being $80?! Shit, at $130 I’m suddenly a lot more ambivalent about this set. Damnit LEGO . . -

I like it! It would be nice if it were a bit more detailed but honestly they look fine, and the flat sides make it easy to put multiple buildings next to each other. I’m going to get this and I’m looking forward to integrating the two buildings into my layout. (Definitely going to change it from a toy shop to something else, though.) -

Is there anyone in America who can help me? I live in Australia and it’s become really difficult to get the HFW Tallneck over here, but a family member’s going to New York for a trip soon and I’m hoping they can get one for me. Are there any American sites with good LEGO prices? What’s the cheapest way to buy the Tallneck over there at present? -

I should point out that the suit in the Sanctum Basement set technically is an Iron Spider suit, just after enough of the nanites were destroyed that it couldn’t make the extra legs anymore. If you mean Infinity War/Endgame’s Iron Spider suit, there’s no news on a new version of that (or a rerelease of the figure that was exclusive to the original Sanctum in 2018) and I’d be very surprised if they did make one. So don’t get your hopes up. -

So do we know what the ‘Starter Pipe: Peach’s Castle’ actually does? I ran through the description but all it says is that it’s the starter pipe for Peach’s Castle. -

Open question for anyone who’s more of a comics fan than me. I’m working on a display rack for Spider-Man suits in the customised Avengers base I’m building in my city. I’ve managed to collect every Spider-Man suit variant released since the Ultimate Spider-Man sets started in 2013, except for the comic-con PS4 suit minifigure, but only have room for twelve suits on the rack. I’m certain I want to keep both Iron Spiders, the home-made suit, the black/green one (forget the name), the Homecoming suit, FFH Stealth Suit, and all three of the variants released across the NWH wave. All of those look unique compared to each other and great. But then there’s the Ultimate Spider-Man suit (2013-2016), the silver-eyed 2019-20 suit that I’m told is the ‘Spider-Armour Mk.4’, the one with arm printing they’ve used last year and this year, the 4+ version, the CMF version . . five suits that are identical save for minor details and differences, and I only have room for three of them at most. Not to mention, I’m sure there will be more in future. (Garfield or Maguire suits would be wonderful.) Does anyone have any suggestions, which of those variants is most significant, etc? Out of all of them, I like the Spider-Armour Mk.4 most. The silver eyes really do it for me. -

So I just got the 4+ Elsa and Nokk set (didn’t get the jewellery box but have been sorely missing the Nokk since) and it randomly included a duplicate dress legs piece for Elsa? I’ve never seen a duplicate minifigure part before, has anyone else who got the set had this? -
Really? Looking at the poster, that’s Aspheera, Pythor, Mechanic, Mr. E (Mr. F?) and Skull Sorceror. Then how does Harumi fit into things? (Also why is Harumi here anyway? Pythor, Aspheera, Skull Sorceror and Mechanic were all still alive last we knew, and Mr. E could have been rebuilt, but Harumi’s dead . . right?)

Considering I ripped apart the Hall sets to make my own version that bears aesthetic similarities to the first two but none of the structure (don’t like those clip angles) and this new one’s gone in the opposite direction, I have the same problem but exacerbated. And after I got the Iron Monger set specifically for the Mark 3 figure last year, the only appeal this set has for me is the new War Machine and the Mark 25. And I guess the new helmets but ehhh. There’s so much inconsistency at this point with the helmet designs that just thinking about it frustrates me. Unless I can get a very good discount I might just skip this one - and considering what I heard about the price, that seems unlikely. -

So what’s up with these new Mission sets? Have we heard about these before? I’m curious about it just for the novelty. Also love that train station, but the passenger train’s actually kind of ugly? Eh. -
I love these new sets! Especially the floating island crystal castle thing. Can’t wait to get a better oook at the centaur Kaiju too!

Good afternoon all. Just a quick question; has anyone bought LEGO or similar from a site called StockX before? Are they reliable? I’m asking because they claim to be listing the Ninjago City Gardens at only $390 AUD (for non-Australians RRP is $499 here) with $27 extra for delivery - a good price, and not so good as to be suspicious. I’m not familiar with the site, though, and if it turns out to be a scam or similar this could turn into a very expensive mistake. It claims 165 people have bought Ninjago City Gardens on that site, but there’s no option for ratings or reviews there, which is also a red flag. Can anyone confirm whether it’s a legitimate site or a scam? Link is below. https://stockx.com/lego-ninjago-city-gardens-set-71741?country=AU¤cyCode=AUD

So I just got the Ninja Ultra Combo Mech, because as a twelve-year-old I desperately wanted a combining robot for the Ninja and now that it’s actually happened I just couldn’t not get it. I have to ask; do we know who’s been running the Ninjago Mech design and why they’re such a massive fan of Gurren Lagann? Because Zane’s Mech and its skull face was one thing, the Hydro Bounty’s escape pod Mech and its figurehead face was another . . but I’m looking at the tiny black gap between the chest and pelvis plates on Kai’s Mech and seeing a mouth, and the massive golden ornaments as giant Gurren Lagann sunglasses (with the red bits around them as eyebrows/cheeks), and now I can’t unsee it.

I like the way the Goblin Mech has that little tendril at the back to mimic his hat. . . . That’s it. That’s the only good thing I can say about this miserable little set. I do not see myself getting this one. Though it just occurred to me that the tendril kinda makes me imagine a Green Goblin Gunman (Gurren Lagann style) and now I sorta wanna do that . . not worth supporting this set though. Boo LEGO. You could have at least used the red/black/gold colour scheme and the figure from the Sanctum Workshop set . . -

HOLY CRAP IT’S REAL. I didn’t want to believe it, it seemed too good to be true! But now we’ve got pictures! And . . okay, so it’s just Aloy, a Watcher and the Tallneck, and it looks like it might be a one-off. But this is still great and I’m buying it and I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for a set before! -

Three new sets and is this the whole wave? Did they seriously make an entire wave without putting Owen in a single set? I don’t buy it. Anyway, Triceratops set has a good triceratops. Build is mediocre and the figures - do my eyes deceive me or are those reused Harry Potter Death Eater torsos for Claire and Malcolm? Got the last triceratops set so no interest in this one even if the red triceratops is cool. Much more excoted about the Pyroraptor Transport; brand new dinosaur, affordable Ian Malcolm, and a Dilo? Definitely picking this one up! As great as it looks I can’t really justify paying for the JP vignette unless it gets a heavy discount and I end up with a lot of spare spending money. Still, congrats to the old guard of fans who’ve been waiting for this exact set! I honestly thought it was a MOC at first because it looked way too good to be true. -

Ah jeez, this again - in light of the recent Daredevil and Fisk appearances in Spider-Man and Hawkeye, but absence of direct confirmation of the series’ canonicity, the only correct answer is that it is open to interpretation. Daredevil and Fisk exist in the MCU, this is a fact. They are played by the same actor just like JJJ is still played by JK Simmons, but no one thinks that means the Maguire Spider-Man movies happened in the MCU, so that in itself doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Is it the same Wilson and Fisk who were in the Netflix show? Nothing so far says yes, but nothing says no either, so the only correct answer is “Do you want it to be?” If you hate Netflix-continuity with a passion, you can declare your interpretation to be that it’s all non-canon and no one can contradict you. If you want it to all be canon, then there’s nothing saying you’re wrong except other people on the internet. They’ve left it open to interpretation so far and even if Iron Fist and Jessica Jones and Luke Cafe all come back, I suspect they’ll continue to do so. You all don’t need to argue about this because you’re not going to convince each other, and this is a LEGO forum so if you really want to tell people about how you’re right and they’re wrong there are other places more appropriate for the discussion. -

Okay that genuinely does sound awesome. Like that one Fantastic Beasts set with the occamy that was giant to minifigures but shrunken to us people. Fingers crossed we get something like that for Quantumania? I’d be entirely on board!
