Thanks! Yes, from now on I'll stick to tan base plates for anything I build in Mesabi Landing. Thank you! -

Oh yeah, you're right. I vaguely remember something about a debate between Mesabi and someone else about the benefits of horse meat vs. pork though... can't remember which thread... -

Thanks! Thank you! If you click on them it will take you to my flickr page and make them larger. Thanks! 1. Nope. That was supposed to be a short railing under the window. Admittedly, it probably wasn't the best design choice that I ever did. 2. I'll be honest, I didn't really think to tile the floors... No restriction to LDD or anything like that. It probably would have brought it up another notch. Thanks for the fed back! -

Thanks! Yeah, with the new glue factory in town they'll probably only last about a week! Ok, I'll definitely make sure to keep the vegetation and green grass to a minimum on future builds in Mesabi Landing. Thanks for the feedback! -
That is so cool! Great detail work and overall design!

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
LM71Blackbird replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks! I read in the rules that the timeframe of Bobs goes from the age of sail until about 1830. The first historical use of iron plating on ships was in 1837, so I figured it was close enough. I get what your saying about the thicker wooden hull. I've still got some improvements to do it, so I'll consider that. I thought about it! I can make it pink and purple if I wanted too! Thanks! -

I don't know why I didn't even think about that... LOL! Thanks! In the rules thread it says the time period is from the Age of Sail to about 1830. So I did some research and found out that the first historical use of iron on ships as armor was in 1839, which is pretty close to the end of the time frame... I'll do some more building and research and then post it in the Shipwright Guild Hall. Thanks again @Bregir! -
Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II

Can I get some feedback on my latest ship MOC idea? I made an Armored Brig with 40 guns (It's not completely finished yet), but I just want to make sure it is acceptable for the time period of BOBS. Also, would it work for the MRCA? Thanks! Ironclad Brig by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr -
Troop Transport RSND "Eagle" Troop Transport by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr (IC) After taking on supplies at Arlinsport, Lieutenant Nathaniel Brickford boarded the troop transport HMS "Eagle" that was bound for King's Harbor. Troop Transport by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr His company of Marines, who were led by the decorated veteran Captain Horatio Plates, were headed to King's Harbor to protect the interests of the Crown in the New World. troop transport 2 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr After they had sailed half the distance from the Sea of Storms to the Terraversa Sea, the "Eagle" encountered a dreadful storm that shook the timbers of the mighty vessel to their core. In all the confusion, the aging Captain Plates, was injured by a rouge barrel that broke loose in the hold. By the time the Storm finally cleared after two days, Captain Horatio Plates had passed. The crew buried him at sea the following day. With the Company's leader now deceased, Nathaniel Brickford was promoted from second in charge to Captain of the troops aboard the "Eagle". (OOC) I hope you enjoyed the next part of my character storyline and the ship MOC! C&C are welcome and appreciated! I know the sails don't look the greatest and there should probably be 4 or 5 masts, but trying to be precise and add things on a 3000 piece model on the LDD is no easy task! I read the ship size thread and I decided to make this ship a Class 8 because if built with real bricks it would be about 50 inches long. Any comments on that or about character progression in general would be helpful (just to make sure I'm doing it right!). Thanks for viewing! For those of you not familiar with my backstory, please refer to these posts:

It's in the BoBs master index. It doesn't look like it's been added to the accounts thread yet.

Yeah, I see it in the summary. But when I check my active ships licenses, it' blank... Just wasn't sure if I was missing something... Thank You!
-
Another quick question! I licensed my free class 2 ship, but I think it was before I was added to the accounts spreadsheet... I don't see it in the ship license request form either... Do I need to re-license it for it to take effect? Thanks!

Sleek looking ride! I would definitely like to have one of these! You nailed the retro vibe perfectly!

[COR] [Free Build] Mesabi Landing Plantation
LM71Blackbird replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you! Thanks! I'm glad it gets the WTC's approval! Yes, I choose to grow corn because I figured it would be a safe choice because of it's how versatile it is. I keep the climate in mind as I work on other builds in Mesabi Landing Thank you! I was very proud of how it turned out! Nope. Their growing corn all the way. Pineapples might be a good idea in the future though... -
[COR] [Free Build] Mesabi Landing residence
LM71Blackbird replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you! Don't worry, I plan to expand my operations it Mesabi Landing and contribute to it reaching city status! I licensed it last night, so I'll mention this one and the plantation in the Mesabi Landing thread. Thanks again! -
ML tents by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr (IC) As the Brickford Plantation was being built at Mesabi Landing, Ralph Clutchington's main residence was a small campsite just outside of the town. Two cozy tents with a warm fire pit. (OOC) After I built my plantation, I realized that I needed a residence to claim my WTC reward. So here it is, a medium (32x32) residence! Thanks again, and I hope I submitted this in accordance to the rules! C&C welcome!
