  1. They could use the R2-D2 head mold of 30611 poly bag from last May the 4th. Maybe it's accurate enough. Don't really know, though.
  2. Unless there is a scene with that pot in the cockpit worth to be remembered, I'd rather put the coffee machine in any other part of the ship, maybe in the main room with the playing table. The back of the cockpit should have some sort of emulated door and lights, given that the way it's built doesn't give many other options.
  3. Got another bounty hunter battle pack for my custom Jabba Palace. First one is devoted to a 75055 Star Destroyer. Indeed! I didn't like too much the Rebels' helmet design, but I saw them as a different squadrom to peace my mind. I got some before the new battle packs with classic storm troopers, which I like more. That set was much better than average and it had 155 pieces, which is still quite uncommon for a battle pack and, as the stormies held their value, the pieces alone were very cheap. I took several of those.
  4. Excelent MOCs! I like a lot the mix of colors to give a Jedha feeling and the different build techniques to obtain textures. I'll have to study the photos with great detail to learn for my MOCs...
  5. That's surprising. Never thought that this Freemaker thing would give us anything relevant, and it gave us the Bounty Hunter battle pack, one of the best battle packs ever! We all know that Dengar was in another Freemaker set, the eclipse fighter 75145, although it was way overpriced even with Dengar. But I won't have more prejudice with Freemakers, just in case .
  6. Yes, that X-Wing closer to the main door appears in the plans I posted earlier in this page. However, the small hangar bays in the plans contradict what appears in the film, which are big X-Wing sized bays. The scene gives the impression that there are more snowspeeders than those that actually fit in the studios, so in that extent the plans are more accurate to the desired base.
  7. That's very interesting. A realistic film-based Command Center has been usually overlooked in other MOCs, many of them excellent ones. It has close shots in the film, so difficult to get it right, I guess.
  8. I live in Madrid, I took it from Alcampo, which is a large hypermarket chain in Spain. Never understood the prices... during Christmas they were fluctuating, specially those with bigger prices, which I guess didn't sell so well. The FO destroyer I believe started at €129 but later on went down to €109, but the resistance bomber kept at €120 all Christmas. During some time in January they had both at €80, then the destroyer moved to €99 but the resistance bomber is still at €80.
  9. I've got a second FO star destroyer that was 50% off on sale. Couldn't resist. This way I'll save one Snoke minifig from my children and I could make a bigger Resurgent-class star destroyer that could be played with a 2014 imperial star destroyer I made with spare parts. It will be approximately one third bigger, but at the same time still small enough for them to play with.
  10. Some days away and now back to this page to see that your project has advanced a lot! The doors design looks very realistic and yet simple. And the hangar bays built upside down are just great. Some time ago I searched for an inverted corner white slope and didn't find anything useful. Not adding a bay close to the door at the right side from inside seem also more accurate to me. This page is great with all those different Echo Base plans. It can be seen how they are somewhat based on previous ones, but at the same time adding something on their own. I have scanned the plans in a PDF (three pages). Let me know how to send it to you.
  11. Ok, so I have searched in my old film collection books trying to find the Echo base plans and I found this one. It's from Star Wars Technical Journal, back from 1994-1996: Interesting enough, it seems that more people came into the same conclusion and they prepared a plan that fits better with the intended size. The falcon is way smaller overall compared to the width and length of the base. Note also how the entrance gets bigger after the doorway out and it's big enough for the falcon to escape. From the outside the shots give the impression of an even bigger base. It fits also more X-Wings and snow speeders. This layout appears to be closer to their original ideas, before they had to make compromises within the studios. I have used this book sometimes as reference material for some of my MOCs, but never realised the dimensions mismatch of Hoth Echo base until now.
  12. Wow! This MOC uses the system scale MF and it seems to be quite big anyway! The Ion cannon is impressive. Very nice work! Going back on topic... On the entrance side, from this shot the doors seems to be small, as it is from inside the studios. It's just a shot of a second or so. The rebels are almost running through the doors, which help to get the actual proportions in the studios. However, this shot from Han Solo coming back with his Taun-Taun, shows the big entrance we all remember. The funny part is that there is even an image composition of the interior of the base, albeit fairly inaccurate from a perspective and dimension points of view. This kind of things are barely noticed during the film, as the eyes follow the Taun-Taun. I think this is the impression they wanted to give, but they couldn't afford anything near that big in the studios.
  13. Good choice! I got a second one some time ago. It's an obscure ship that I like more than the Republic counterparts. It was reasonably cheap and it has two good minifigs. The astromech is useful in any imperial scene and the pilot, with the ARC-170 pilot helmet variant, is strange enough. The pilot head could also be used for a custom Sith Lord. I still have to find time to figure out how to modify the ship to fit the whole astromech inside. I think that's the only drawback of the set.
  14. With RO I think we got some genuine OT sets, like the Y-Wing, the AT-ST and the battle packs with stormtroopers and rebels. To me, adding deathtroopers, K2-S0 and Director Krennic to the UCS Death Star is just a perfect complement! . On the PT, I would like to have a Geonosis set related to the arena battle or the Geonosis command center with the separatists. A Kamino set with Ben Kenobi, Jango Fett and Kaminoans would also be great. But at least we are getting now a Geonosis battlepack with phase I clones and two Jedis. Another one with geonosians and droids would be a cool companion.
  15. That's a great project! Hoth is one of my favourite places in all SW. The detail you put on the Service Gantry is fantastic!. Yes, the floorplan seems to be smaller in scale, specially on the doors side. The final base appears considerably bigger in the film.
  16. Yes, that would be cool, as far as the last one weren't yet another FO crew . Don't know how many of those I have, far too many, which have just a couple of seconds of accumulated screen time in TFA and TLJ. It would be even cooler to include two praetorian guards. This has happened lately with RO death troopers and with FO Executioners, rising up the interest and usefulness of those battlepacks.
  17. I don't like the new ones neither. Hopefully my last two FO battle packs I purchased yesterday have the original helmets. It doesn't really make sense to change the FO helmets given that there should be days or at most weeks from TFA to TLJ. This is not exactly a TLG fault, but they could have ignored that variant as well...
  18. And they still would have time to start designing a Bespin set given the excellent MOCs out there, if they wasn't started yet On the TLJ throne room rumors for August, I would be pleased to see it done. The last throne room was an excellent set with good minifigs, playability and reasonable price. It wouldn't work without Snoke, Kylo, Rey and two praetorian guards. The timing would be good as well, introducing the praetorian guards minifigs early enough. That would give time for a battlepack by the end of the year.
  19. The gray head may go with the new X-Wing, as the leaked pic shows a gray R unit. The white R unit could go with the Sandcrawler if the one shown in the leaked pic is a placeholder. The muddy R2 unit is great, just another excuse to avoid missing Yoda's Hut set if it's real .
  20. The medical and protocol droids are from the films, albeit the medical one appeared first in ESB. The yellow astromech droid seems to be a placeholder like the one of the Tatooine battlepack, which was blue/gray before, but there is a yellow head & body astromech droid hanging around in Mos Eisley when the Stormtroopers stopped Luke and Obi Wan with the Landspeeder.
  21. I really like the new Sandcrawler and, as many others here, I was greatly surprised. There are many sets now related to Tatooine, so it's a great time to collect them and for children to play with. The new one will reach more children, unless TLG wants to put another absurd price point on it. Let's hope this won't be the case.
  22. Sorry to come back from CC rumors to the impressive FO AT-ST 75201 set from TLG. We have now this set listed online with the incredible price range of €59,99-€66,99 depending on the country in the European continent. I have no words for a 370 pieces set with 4 minifigs and half an AT-ST under this price range... The cantina set, which has almost the same pieces count (376) and 4 minifigs is in the range of €49-99-€56-99. It isn't complete by far neither but, come on... the 75201 set price is insane
  23. Considering that it's only half an AT-ST, I got another two RO versions with discount (€32 each) to mod them as FO ones. The only interesting different piece is Rose's hair with the hat, Phasma is not that different and Finn is easy to replicate. I haven't seen the FO set yet here in Europe continent, let's see its price range...
  24. Oh, I didn't want to do that. I'm very sorry if I gave a wrong impression. I just wanted to show a funny color-scheme variant of the Sandspeeder color scheme. I actually like the 75204 set a lot, and the review btw.
  25. This is just another awesome speeder variant with a wonderful "review". Best minifig is the Mustafar-based FO gunner!
