  1. I doubt Onward sets will happen, specially with Troll sets coming.
  2. The thing is that I actually liked the Megabloks minions design (but never bought any) but their builds were meh. Since this will probably a LEGO 4+ wave, the builds will be meh too.
  3. What other license Illumination holds? I can remember none. And it is actually strange that LEGO went for both Trolls and Minions license at the same year, since both targets the same demographics.
  4. As Lego rules, they still have the rights for 2 years after rejecting the Idea. I am not sure about distributing instructions for free, but there is always a potential for non-related donations to the creator.
  5. Pieces from Legoland exclusive set 40346 are available too.
  6. Sorry I wasn’t clear: mainly I see it having a color monotony in the walls. Sure it isn’t a designers fault, it is based on a cartoon, so its palette mimics the show. While the builds seems to be interesting/engaging but it always have room for improvement. It is my opinion anyway, not a fact. But I am glad it made it to 10.000 supports, I really want to see it as s set.
  7. Support this project, people. Really good.
  8. This is a great idea and I sure want it. But also hope Lego designers can improve the model a little bit (like OFS) to break the monotony of its external walls (not coming from the design but from the source material itself).
  9. Some things changed in Billind really. But Wetwired Project isn’t even the only X-files project on Ideas right now. But I am sure want it to become a set.
  10. You are right, that technic piece is quite old (2004) and was only used in 6 sets. Only colors are blue and medium stone gray, an old color that is different form modern LBG, which would be make very hard to complete the roof in one color. Of course one can make the roof white or LBG and just that piece in medium stone gray (I think it would work just right). I wonder how Bricked1980 will handle the matter in his upcoming instructions.
  11. My order had 2 itens. The second one was already shipped. The ST set is still “in process”. And I should have been one of the first US orders since I was caught in the middle of the not available - backordered - available process.
  12. I wonder if I should cancel that order and make a new one....
  13. After some research, It seems that is a common problem when the LEGO site switches a product to available. It becomes “backordered” than “available” and I got caught in the middle of the process... But now the ST set says “in process” at my order history page, while another set that I bought together says “in warehouse “. Maybe it goes through . What your order status states?
  14. Shit! After hours trying to buy the ST sets and the website never allowing me now it is back ordered! And the site charged me instantly and not when the set ships! Awesome service as usual, LEGO Backordered since it was up.
  15. I am experiencing the same problem, trying since midnight to buy the set. Some time between the night the set changed from “Coming June 1st” to “ Available May 25th for VIP members”, but still does not allow me to buy. US website. Have you solved your problem?
  16. Simpsons had two yearly D2C large sets (which I can see Lego doing for ST if this set sells week) and a minifig series (which is pretty common to be released with a large D2C set as a way to populate it - see Disney Castle) but I do not see they releasing a minifig series for ST due to the adult nature of the IP and the fact that minifig blind bags are impulse buys at stores. There weren’t smaller sets for Simpsons outside the Dimensions ones.
  17. As someone already said, if this leads to a How to Train Your Dragon theme it would be amazing. Just think about Vikings+dragons (old Viking theme has some but this have a potential to be better). But Playmobil had the license for the 3rd movie, not sure how it could be played out.
  18. I think nerdsforprez got the right idea to easy your mindset. It is not about avoiding thieves (as they are unavoidable) but how/if you get enough benefits from your work. It could be enough for just knowing the community praises you and your builds or it could be you make enough money to cover your costs by selling your work or getting donations to support it. Of course you can try to shut down some thief operations you may come across but do not loose your sleep over it. It should be enough that at least the community knows you are the creator of such projects. also trying to implement features to difficult the access of your content usually only hurts your fans/customers since thieves will always get around them.
  19. While I don’t throw away the idea of another D2C Stranger Things set, it would be very unlikely that smaller sets will be done. While the series has potential smaller builds, there are reasons not to do them: 1 - smaller sets are usually “play” sets in opposite of display sets. As the theme is targeting a mature audience it would focus the display side. 2 - keeping the sets D2C it is an escuse to not have them on stores, where it would be more difficult to distinguish them as “mature” and probably mixed with other sets. D2C sets are usually large sets and there was never a D2C “wave”.
  20. Missed the pictures. If anyone has them, please PM me.
  21. This. It is 16+ here. Yes it tries to capture the nostalgia for goonies, gremlins, etc, but for the adult that grew watching those movies, adding a further level of gore. It is not like those kids adventure movies from the 80s that while having a level of violence/suspense/terror that is not acceptable for kids today, mostly those themes were handled in a comical way. There is nothing comical on ST, it is straight King’s stuff. Lego may justify the release of the set on the nostalgia and light elements of the 80s movies but at the same time they are ignoring the modern elementar added the the series (or more precisely, to removal of the comical side of such movies). The limits have being stretched further yes (and I am happy with that).
  22. Simpsons got two D2C sets because it also had two minifigures series. There is usually a D2C set released together with a minifig series to serve as a display piece for the minis. Not the case with Stranger Things. I really doubt we will get another set.
  23. If it is Joyce’s house, half of the set pieces will be Xmas lights.
  24. That was exactly my point. LEGO breaks it’s line between minifigs and minidolls, saying that the later appeal more girls, targeting girls as the demographic of those sets. While such toys or properties should not be gender specific. LEGO is actually labeling minidolls as develop for girls. Ok, they had problems with girls and minifigs and ended developing minidolls, which themselves became a gender problem. If the system was broken to one side (not appealing enough girls) fix the system and don’t create another line. Make something inclusive for all. Don’t tell me some boys also like those sets. It is true of course, but everything on them are targeting only girls.
  25. I don’t think minidolls are suitable to encompass all Disney properties. Minidolls design lacks short legs (and now minifigs have 3 different heights). If I remember right, minidolls cannot move each leg individually, right? It is not that minifigs do not have troubles to represent every character, but to me it seems that minidolls are more limiting to represent them, outside Princess and a bunch of girls.
