  1. Yeah, I think you should gear it up, the pullbacks have lots of torque
  2. Well, I decided that those Ryobi drills would be something good to replicate and... I did this project whilst I was waiting for parts for my supercar. I might cancel the supercar project :3
  3. Ah, yes i have just found one, anyways thanks for bringing the boost to my attention.
  4. Lower the whole thing, remove the outriggers, use independent suspension on all wheels and swap out the bed for 4 XL motors and a W16 engine. Maybe, we can call it a dakar truck or something. (basically a fast version without all the tow truck functions :3)
  5. Wow! I'm looking to join the first lego FLL, which kit do you reccomend me get? Education or Personal home? Which is cheaper?
  6. Awesome job! I really like the idea of linear actuators but i only have one :3
  7. Project update: Cancelled... :( There are delivery issues with the servo motor which i believe will make the project very disadvantaged... The project may be revived if the motor does not arrive in 3 weeks... RIP
  8. I don't think it'll work because the shifter has a half stuf offset. I'm planning to make an fix so that the frames are closer together and the half stud offset sticks out of the 4 tooth gears a little.
  9. Okay, seems risky but i'll try to partially disassemble the gearbox and reposition some parts and change some design factors. Tomorrow will be a risky day...
  10. It seems like it's the axles that are messing up, maybe I should lower the gap size between the gears? I thought the gearbox was already really well reinforced?
  11. VERY IMPORTANT PROJECT UPDATE... I messed up really badly. The gearbox couldn't handle the torque because I had it designed specially to only have half studs fit in due to the weird design of the old gearbox pieces (2 studs long, half a stud for the shifter). The input to the connector to the 20 tooth gear was half stud. And in high torque, the drivetrain messed up terribly... I'm really desperate for help as this may have just ruined my project :( http://bricksafe.com/files/MattL600/project-panther-r4/VID_20170715_205613473.mp4 ^^^ please watch the clip
  12. Oh sorry, didn't realise it was a year old. Man, it feels like 42056 was only released during December...
  13. I shortened the wheelbase! Removed the M motor section and inverted the worm gear. Then I took this output and used 2 pairs of 4 tooth gears to allow the M motor on the left. It looks really good and fits well, but the problem is that I wanted the battery boxes in the side compartments so i need to find out a work around.
  14. I might try to move the position of the M motor backwards to make a shorter wheelbase... hopefully it works!
