  1. Perhaps the news flash should just list the one link to the Train and City thread.
  2. The reason why is because on the Main/News page, the message says "Join the discussion here and here" under the image of the cafe/hotel. This is the first thing people are seeing, and just as I did, I clicked the first "here" which is this message. I prefer Lego keep their sets under $100. This is why I don't buy the large train sets. I hate spending $100 (USD) on a set, even when the value or price/piece is good. This will definately be an exception to my rule.
  3. Set of the year. Lego has a great line-up this year.
  4. Wow! This set is beautiful. I love it. The price is high, but it's gorgeous. It will make a great focal point for a town/city. I can't wait to see some close-up shots, esp. the interior. It may be just as detailed inside as the exterior. A great mystery can take place in a hotel of this kind. I can't help to wonder if Lego will be offering more of these types of city/town models if they are successful with this.
  5. First, find the dynamite. Once you do, a clue will tell you what to do next. Click the cell wall for a big surprise.
  6. If you mean the dynamite, you just find it and click the barrel. You may use it later.
  7. Great display of some fine sets Gads. I also like the background. It really adds to the Egyptian/Desert Adventure sets. I wish I had purchased all of the sets in your collection. I only own a few.
  8. I think friendly contests like this are fun.
  9. Very nice, and great imagery! I love the background.
  10. I've received a few questions regarding HOW to solve the mystery. I don't want to spoil it for those of you who have not solved it, but the final CLUE resides inside the Gold Mine. Find Sheriff McDonald within the Gold Mine, and he will provide you the last CLUE to solve the mystery. Thanks. I used my "not so-good camera" which is a Sony Cybershot T7. I purchased this because of the size. It fits in your pocket making it great when you're traveling. To tell you the truth though, I'm not impressed with the photo-qualityas much as my older Sony Cybershot which is just a 2.1 Megapixel. As far as tips go, I think it's all based on the camera you use, but I set mine on detail, but I only use Email/Tif size image which takes a lot less time to upload over the web. The detail is just as good, but the image not as large. 640x480 is the image size that I like. I tried to use a lamp for extra lighting, but I got a shadow no matter what I did. I do like to use the flash though which makes the color much more vivid (shadow is the only problem that you can see in some of the first few images). I have a tripod, but don't bother using. I just hold the camera and snap. In addition, these are all the original images with no photo-editing. Editing takes way too long when you have this many images. The 1st image or banner on the 1st screen has been edited though just to change the background. Not sure, I may make a better Part II to this (or) maybe make a Lego-themes mystery/adventure of some kind. Just not sure what I want to do yet. I need a lot of sets that I don't have built right now. I'll let you know when I start working on it though. Let me know if the final clue is what you needed.
  11. There's a person who will help you if you can find him. The "Esqueeze Me" joke was just something I heard several years ago in Mexico. Nothing dirty intended, but just something I had remembered that I thought was funny. You solved the mystery. Good job, but you never know... Perhaps a Part 2. Thanks, I wanted to do a pic review of the various sets, but thought this might be a little more fun to explore the WW Playmobil collection. My next one may be Lego-related. Now what makes you say that? Not really, it was intended to be more a western adventure, but as I started writing the story line, it quickly turned into a "Who-Dun-It". I suppose it just depends on the mood I'm in. Thanks for the feedback. If it's not too much trouble, would you try commenting on the page. Email address is not required.
  12. Excellent review. Very comprehensive and well done. I think my favorite part of the set is the little sub. I like how the crate fits inside. I'd love to see a set like this under real water.
  13. No, you're suppose to figure out who killed Molly. Clues are hidden in various places as well as instructions to solve the "who-dun-it".
  14. Ingenious Phes. Again, a simple, yet very effective design. Great colors. I like the red roof with the Imperial flag on top (although it's not a Eurobricks flag). Your images of the various perspectives gives it a real professional look. You're getting quite good with these pirate MOCs - if only these were real sets. Nice job!
  15. I'm not familiar with Mozilla, but I'm glad it works with IE.
  16. Very nice Phes. Simple, yet very effective. Great use of the pieces you selected. this would make a great small set.
  17. Thanks for the feedback BM. You know I had to include some "secret places" and clues within the various pages, otherwise, it would be too easy. If you don't know who the murderer is yet, you probably have not gone to all the places yet. I don't understand this error. Sounds like most have made it through. Try refreshing the screen when you get to it. Let me know exactly what the image is and what you are clicking before the error appears.
  18. Good question Phes. I'm in Playmobil Western mode right now. I broke out my WW Playmobil town awaiting a few new Playmobil western sets. My next one may be a Lego mystery in the same fashion. What I like about Playmobil is that I don't have to spend hours building each set plus the props are more abundant (hills/mountains, cacti, buildings, etc). See if you can solve the Who-Dun-It. Please don't share the solution on this thread though.
  19. I realize this is not a Lego topic, but I've been working on a Playmobil Western Adventure for a few weeks now, and wanted to share it with all of the Lego/Playmobil fans on Eurobricks. I'm not active on Playmobil forums. The adventure is called 5 Miles to Deadwood which is sort of a visual interactive "Who-Dun-It". I asked Brick Miner to be the first person to review it as he is a Western fan (thanks BM). I'm not the best Web Master, but this was my attempt to cross web design with pictures, story, and mystery. The CLUE is all about clicking in the right spot on the images. If you're interested, check out the site, and leave feedback if you will. This sort of thing could easily be incorporated with Lego images. Link here: 5 Miles to Deadwood. Enjoy!
  20. Very nice review Alex. Your pictures are very vivid- excellent color. This is my personal favorite of the Adventurers Desert theme. I enjoyed building it last year as part of my Port Adventure: The entire thread can be found here: Port Adventure In any case, nice review of an excellent set. I bought on clearance from KayBee's web site a few years ago. It's a classic. *y*
  21. The Blacksmith set was a "built by fans" set. I think that Lego will utilize the Train Factory to find these and perhaps choose among the better sets to design. This set looks awesome. But I would have also been just as happy to see the the old red crocodile engine return at half the price. On a side note BM, I know that you're a Western fan, but do you own many or at least a few train sets as well? For me, trains and WW go hand-in-hand. How's your train station coming along? I'm really looking forward to seeing it.
  22. I saw this yesterday afternoon on Brickshelf. Lookes great. Price is high for a single engine, but then again, the set makes 30 different models. I'm looking forward to March.
  23. I like the use of the magnet which is pretty clever. I've got mine on order from SAH.
  24. I esp. like the space and pirate graphic. Nice job BM. The two different colors for the Fellows and Ladies is pretty neat.
