Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
Given previous discussion of the enigmatic "Leaf" theme here, this just might be of some pertinence... P.S. Take note of the hashtags... -
Nice! I really love the color choices for this one, especially for that "Cardinal" recolor... ...plus, I dig that new beanie mold!

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Digger of Bricks replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I think this pretty much confirms that Hidden Side did well in terms of sales. If it wouldn't have done well, then they probably wouldn't have decided to keep the augmented reality thing going. So, apparently @Falconfan1414 had this to share over on Instagram... -
Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
You don't say... ...did your acquaintance say he outright described it as a Pirate theme? Any chance he was rather speaking of The Pirate Bay? -
This guy's hairpiece/headgear very much reminds me of The Beast as seen in Disney's 2017 remake of Beauty and the Beast... Come to think of it, there's an idea for a CMF archetype right there: a Cursed Prince!

Well, my preference for original, in-house Space lines is actually based more in principle, as it's not so much about what themes past have given us, but what they are capable of giving us. As you had put it... So yeah, I pretty much know what to expect from LEGO Star Wars; and for the most part, it just doesn't offer much that's up my alley aesthetically-speaking. With in-house Space themes though, I can actually hope and expect to see something that just could be closer to my likening...

Ah, thanks! Seems like I've actually never heard of that folkloric figure before after all...
-
Come to think it, maybe it'll instead be placed under the Speed Champions theme...

The Best and Worst of 2019
Digger of Bricks replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Huh, good point, perhaps I'll account for such for my own rankings... Best D2C Set: 75810 The Upside Down Best Non-D2C Playset: 70830 Sweet Mayhem's Systar Starship! Best Theme: Creator Expert Best Minifigure: Either Clutch Powers from 40342 or Michael Keaton's Batman from 76139 Best Collectable Minifigure (CMF): Series 19 Jungle Explorer Best Minidoll: Sweet Mayhem/General Mayhem Best Part: 42862 & 48165, Left & Right Roof Tiles 3X3, Deg. 45/18/45 Most Disappointing: Series 19's Galactic Bounty Hunter (final product had inferior printing compared to render) Most Anticipated for 2020: Series 20 (set no. 71027) and the mysterious "Leaf" theme (set no. 71360-71377) P.S. Later on, I might share my own "honorable mentions" for most of those categories.- 42 replies

I feel like I should know who this archetype's representing, yet I'm drawing a blank... Interesting... ...when was that?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Not my first choice out of the fifteen selected entries, but a very well-designed build nonetheless, quite fitting to complement the Modular line. I do hope though that the final product will retain most if not all of the original submission's NPU. -

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I've likely expressed this here earlier, but given the four year cycles we've seen for "Exploration" subthemes like Space and Arctic, I could see 2020's subtheme being a follow-up to both 2015's Deep Sea Explorers and 2016's Volcano Explorers, hypothetically with a premise revolving around deep-sea exploration of ocean floor volcanic vents. Huh, I've never thought of Cave Exploration before for City... ...not a bad idea! -
Action and Adventure Themes Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Not sure if this will be of interest to other fellow "Adventurers" here, but next year's 76150 Spiderjet vs. Venom Mech has an awfully nice legs & torso combo off of its Spider-Man Noir figure that looks generically reusable for a Pulp Era 1930's crimefighter like The Shadow or The Green Hornet...- 233 replies
