  1. Um, who's we? AFOLs? You do know that AFOLs want to see many different things from City, and not all of them come away empty-handed.
  2. A most perfect design in every way, even being mindful in giving him a three brick-high slope for that extra height... ...that's something that would've slipped my own mind had I designed a figure based upon such.
  3. For as fun as this may look, I still would've rather had a sequel set during WWII instead, just to see Wonder Woman kick Nazi butt!
  4. ...hence why Eurobricks catalogs it that way under the Town subforum here.
  5. Huh, heck, I guess I can see that...
  6. I don't think they can afford to do that right now. Town is a subtheme under the City theme for right now. Um, I'm pretty sure City is rather a subtheme of "Town" if anything. Put another way, City is a part of the "Town" family of playthemes. 4+ is the exact same thing as Juniors. While they may have changed the name, the theme isn't discontinued. To me, 4+ is a downgrading of Juniors from umbrella theme to mere designation. Not the same thing in my book. With 4+ now, you can never expect to see sets based upon themes and genres that are no longer or ever have been like Juniors could've easily done... At the moment, the only bridle City seems to be restrained by is unfantastical modernity.
  7. There's already a pretty well-established topic for this sorta discussion...
  8. Just bringing it on here... ...thanks for the heads-up! Brickonaute - Ferrari F8 Tributo (LEGO Speed Champions 76895) Review
  9. Yeah, I have to agree, as the skirt piece never seems to work on figures that lack an oversized, specialized head like Minnie and Daisy.
  10. To me, I think of Robot Chicken's Nerd...
  11. Has anyone here yet seen the leg printing and head printing for First Appearance Wonder Woman and Batman (respectively)?
  12. That hairpiece design is awesome, and I love how you made her face "glow" like that...
  13. Though they haven't yet published the textual article on their site to accompany, Brickset's Flickr has prematurely shared images from their review of the CMS... Flickr | Albums - 71026 DC Super Heroes Collectable Minifigures
  14. Heh, no kidding...
  15. Are you referring to this composer's cover of it?
  16. Well, on a different note, I'm personally hoping that orchestral rendition of Reflection makes its way into the film in some form.
  17. As seen in the 2003 adaptation of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? Sure, that's a pretty good analogy for what I was trying to convey...
  18. Unlike Disney, the way I'd want Lego to aesthetically approach a theme that blends Eighteenth Century pirate lore with space fantasy is to infuse modern sci-fi space freighters and spacesuits with the stylistic sentiments of the Eighteenth Century rather than just slapping thrusters onto a sailing vessel and calling it a day.
  19. Simple, at the very least, you'd gain the potential assurance that there'll be limitless supply of 1920's/1930's/1940's-inspired minifigure designs that can only come from an evergreen playtheme. For me, it's not about further adventures for Johnny Thunder & Company as much as it's maintaining a consistent time period setting and spirit, because a new "Adventurers" theme shouldn't necessarily be about bringing back the old characters. I really don't see why Ninjago would be any more flexible than an evergreen Adventurers theme could be... Well, a "mining" subtheme under the Adventurers umbrella wouldn't involve resource harvesting and rock monsters like Rock Raiders and Power Miners, as it'd be more like Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth and Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
  20. As modeled after previous years' discussion topics, share and discuss your thoughts on this year's best and worst offerings from The Lego Group, as according to the below posted criteria: Best Theme: Best Minifigure/Figure: Best Set: Worst Theme: Worst Minifigure/Figure: Worst Set: Most Anticipated for 2020: If you'd like to discuss the best and worst of recent years past, here are each of their respective discussion topics: The Best and Worst of 2018 by @Digger of Bricks The Best and Worst of 2017 by @Khscarymovie4 Best (and worst) of 2016 by @BlockLogo Best (and worst?) of 2015 by @BlockLogo Best and worst of 2014 by @Robert8
  21. Though it's likely not as relevant to this topic anymore than it would've been earlier, I figured I might as well share it here anyway...
  22. I'm loving the torso and skirt print designs on the Caroler Girl, and you've really nailed-down Scrooge's facial expression right there!!!
  23. If I hadn't known better, I would've thought I was staring at one of @Giacinto Consiglio latest modular creations... Besides being a most welcome return to quainter form, this has to be the most adorable-looking modular building yet, thanks in no small part to its smaller size and color choices! I actually really dig the pairing of Dark Turquoise and Earth Blue for the townhome in particular, and I love the macaroni tiling work crowning the bookstore. Plus, though it doesn't share much with it architecturally, bookstores always make me think of the Shop Around the Corner from the '98 rom-com You've Got Mail...
