  1. Absolutely, I don't like current tail lights either. There's a lot of work to do.
  2. Thank you, I resized all images in my posts to 1024x576.
  3. There's been over a month since first update. Sorry for delay. In this month I got my extension wire and finally connected all electric components. Other things are in photos. Front of the car is almost done. Hood is openable. Under it you can see black 5x11 panel that covers battery block. It's connected with 2 long red pins and easily removable. The hood was a very hard subassembly to design. You can see that I used system pieces and 2 short black outer cables to achieve required shape. You can see it on the bottom view: Now doors. Well, one door =) I don't like top section that much so I'll try to figure out what to do with it. Maybe angle it somehow, don't know yet. Opening geometry is weird. I'm not sure that it's authentic but at least it looks somewhat similar. Door is mounted on these two pieces: They have enough clutch power to hold the door at any angle. Back section is also looks nice already, but I'll redo it anyway. Or at least fill all gaps. Next thing is wire management. Not the finest looking arangement but it doesn't stick from the car. It's good enough. Last thing is the rear cover. It's unfinished prototype, but V shape looks nice and I'll probably keep it. I hope that next update will be sooner the Jule but we'll see.
  4. You can also use old-school differential as 24z clutch gear and make such gearbox on 2 axles only. There were examples of such gearboxes on previous page. Downside here is the length.
  5. Alright, I'm back on this topic. Had to run through 8 pages to know what's happening. Bought my Chiron at day one and don't regret it. Building experience was great and I loved numbered bags, but I constantly had the feeling that there are too many T and L shaped light grey beams, designer must be a big fan of those. As someone mentioned here, the model looks a bit too wide, but only if you look from the top. Suspension issue is there and it's not that bad in my case. Stepper mechanism is awesome, fixating axle in 90 degrees position with all that 24z gear contraption is pure genius in my opinion. Looking forward to reuse this thing in future MOCs. Now what I'd like to discuss is gears that are not secured on 1 side. That's a questionable technique, I would say it's a "desperate" one when you try to save as much space as possible (like I did in my LaFerrary MOC), and it comes with a price (not that stable, works bad in one of directions because of axle stress). Is it appropriate to see this approach in official sets? Do you use it in your MOCs?
  6. To they have transparent red plastic that bends? I know there's trans-blue like on Falcon, but red? EDIT: sorry, wasn't up to last page, I see it already answered.
  7. I'm going to build it before Jim's review, but also waiting for it. Because I want to see his magnificent photos!
  8. Chiron designers were way too restricted in size. So if we replace current W16 with something smaller then 7+R is achievable. But not with my version, it needs a lot of tuning and optimization.
  9. Listening to podcast now, part 4. Gearbox designer calls new orange piece "a wave selector gear". Should we stick to this name?
  10. I remember it, that's why I believe that instruction creator was especially careful in this particular aspect.
  11. It sure sounds like he made a mistake by not aligning knobs and gear selectors properly
  12. Why not ship it from Europe? I did the same thing with Porsche and it turned out much cheaper then in local stores. Right time to pause the podcast
  13. Too bad that new orange selector won't fit between driving rings, it will clash with differential
  14. I believe that it would be impossible to produce sticker for the fenders because their curvature is not "flat" and couldn't be "unrolled" into flat surface (like in regular panels), so you're right here.
  15. @Frantechnic can you read few pages before posting it? We're against the posting of these videos on the forum, they are stolen.
  16. This one is pretty obvious. It's a 4 speed gearbox for 4WD vehicles with central differential. Input is on any of 2 driving rings (they are coupled anyway), output is on the differential.
  17. You know who probably also want to know this? (TLG and Bugatti)
  18. Please do not publish it. I know everyone wants to see it but it's literally one day to reveal. We should respect LEGO and not spread it.
  19. Someone at BZP will be punished today This was a fast removal!
  20. Another question about steering - will the pivot point be in center of the wheel? Or there is still small offset like it was in Porsche?
  21. Alright, how did that leaked? BZPower have their agent in LEGO?
  22. Remember 42021 Snowmobile? Cool new parts, but quantity was so low
  23. Yes, that one. I'll never buy it for obvious reasons
  24. Ok, but "prototype" is a key word. This one is 7+R gearbox and it only uses one of new blue gears. Gear shifting mechanism is not ready, but I've been playing with some ideas to make this gearbox only 2 "layers" in hight. LDD file: https://bricksafe.com/files/ibessonov/misc/gearbox-prototype-1.lxf Top view: Bottom view: Describing all gears meshing would be hard but main idea is that new gear allows you to save a lot of space if you use it right! EDIT: ouch, I believe I messed up gear ratios in one place, give me 10 minutes to fix it No, it's all good!
