42083 - Bugatti Chiron
ibessonov replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That's plausible, but there has to be at least some difference. I'm sure they investigate MOCs to not repeat them. New pieces only support this idea, they basically revolutionize approach to gearboxes with this set. But... how is it even possible to put those orange pieces in other sets in the future? I guess we won't see them again until 2020 or so. Let's hope that we'll have new blue gears in 2019 sets, I need a lot of them, or at least 3 -

This is the most likely scenario. This means 8 speads instead of 7+R. What's really interesting is paddle shifters or any other mechanism that will change gears. There must be significant progress after Porshe, or maybe only slightly improved version. Axle connected to that mechanism is located right on the center of the car. -

For those who missed my post - I recreated gearbox in LDD as faithful as I could. Here's the link: https://bricksafe.com/files/ibessonov/misc/42083-gearbox-1.lxf -

Please read literally two massages above yours. "please don't post any leaked images in this thread!" -

I spent a few hours in LDD figuring out gearbox structure. Of course I cannot guarantee that my version is correct, but I'm sure that gear ratios and overall principles are there. So if you still want to be surprised then don't read my thoughts under the spoiler. -

I really hope that "color vomit" discussion will end soon and I don't like the term, it's disrespectful. I'm pretty sure that we all have a lot of black beams and connectors so having them in the variety of colors is a good thing. They won't be visible from outside anyway so what's the problem? LEGO gives us more orange connectors and we're complaining? And to be clear, people call it vomit because of: - about 10 blue pieces; - 5 orange pieces; - 1lime beam; - 2 yellow beams and a few connectors; - like a 100 gray and black pieces. I don't get it. -

Those new parts look very promising. New orange gear selector is awesome but it's like a cheat mode, I doubt that we'll stop using uld red selector in our gearboxes. "Color vomit" doesn't bother me, lime pieces are always welcomed. And blue gear - well, it's goig to be hidden anyway so who cares But the mould itself is somthing that I've been waiting for a long time.I'm more happy with new 20z gear then with orange thing to be honest. Shock absorbers are yellow btw, that's weird, I'd love to see red or blue ones. It's an exclusive set after all. -

So they built it and posted the process, what a shame... I'm ok with leakage of box art, but this is just ridiculous. -

It's been discussed already, check out previous pages. And please don't post leaked images, it's against the rules here. Answering your question - I think these hubs are awesome, but it's not clear yet how deep they fit in the rim. -

Axle on horseshoe is 16L. Maybe other light blue axles have the same length because it's easier for TLG to release only one type instead of two. -

They couldn't spend those 900 pieces on system grills so there must be some complex mechanism inside. -

Judging from the hole in the middle, new discs are compatible with old rims so we'll see them in other sets for sure. -

Sorry, misinterpreted it. Then I agree, disk is a part of new hub. Let's hope it won't be exclusive. -

The hub is most likely an old one. It is partially visible on the left side of the disk right where steering link is connected. -

I'm OK with them actually, it's a reasonable choice. What I don't like is the sticker on door's bottom. I get why it's in there but I hate stickers anyway. There's also sticker that imitates door handle, as far as I can tell. Maybe Bugatti logo on the grill is sticker as well, but that's fine. Calipers were discussed already. -

Did the same for myself but never published it Distortion on the original picture makes front of the car much uglier then it actually is. And I still think that even corrected picture doesn't make justice to the model, we need to see another angles. 8 days left. -

Not exactly, they are less flexible. So instead of bending they likely crack. But there are semi-transparent beams and connectors out there, just pretty rare. -

Doing a little bit of reverse engeneering now in LDD and I have too say WOW! There are much more complex angles then it seems at first sight. -

Because this is exactly what we've been asking for. It's cool to see something but we have no rear view and no specs, so june 1st will give us a lot more anyway. -

So it's dark blue after all. Not the most appealing angle, pretty sure that in real life it looks much better. Do you see any new moulds here (except for rims)? I don't. And disk brakes are not visible here -

I remember that I damaged this piece while proper play with Mindstorms NXT 2.0, crocodile build used them in a harsh way. But that was a while ago, I believe that rubber pieces are used with much more care now. -
