Amazing battle scene! The ships look great! Can't believe you managed to build so many details on such small vessels, a big thumb up for the rigging and sails. But is it a good idea to begin to eat their rations of cookies when they just got on the rowboat, it may took weeks before someone finds them.

I like the houses, got some inspirations for the Weelond festival, nice minifigs posing too.

Thanks, Wellesley. Brackets are indeed very useful for shipbuilding, I got a lot of them from the bricks wall of the local store, they were available in white and black. It must be due to perspective, the poop is tilted and has a trapezoid shape, it's attached to the cabin with hinges. And I agree with the rigging and sails, I should work more on them but that was the best I could do 2 years ago. Yes, the photos were taken today. I usually refrain myself from demolishing my ships, except when I really need their parts to build newer ones. Nay sir, I'm in the right faction. Glad you like it, sir.

This is a ship I built 2 years ago and not posted yet till now. As you can see, it has a custom hull made from curved bricks and snot bricks, it's not a large ship but is parts intensive. The rigging and the sails are quite primitive, the ratlines are absent and the strips on the sails are barely visible, surely due to ageing. it has two bombards and two smaller guns. The hull built with plates looks not sturdy enough for a bomb ketch, which usually had reinforced hull to withstand the recoil of the bombard. Now I think the smaller prefab hull would be a better choice for ships of this type. A tiller instead of a steering wheel, seems that the steering wheels were mainly used by larger ships. The hull length is 55 studs, I intend to license it has a class 4 ship, if the ship committee sees no inconvenient. Vive le Roi!

A neat and clean build, great use of the statuette pieces. The Padre looks to be in bad mood, though he's free now, is he going to go after the Count?

Interesting story, and I like the idea of mounting a gun on a raft.

[COR-FB] The Oleander Prison Industrial Complex

What an affront to Oleon's culture, how dare you! Funny story, I'm just not convinced by Padre's reaction when the Count Mesabi threw the chamber pot on its bed, was he covering his face with his hands? Instead of summoning a sacred fire? -

Professor Thaum, Ross Fisher, Fraunces, Khorne and LM71Blackbird, thank you for you comments, I'm glad you like this build. Just hinge bricks for the walls and simple plates for the waves, no fancy tech here. Nope, it's a piece of paper with wooden pattern printed on it. The small tower is a kind of tribute to the Green dragon castle, I bought it back in the 90's and still all the pieces, including that red roof piece used here.

[COR] Prospecting on Gunpowder Island
Bodi replied to Legonaut's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
There are a couple of nice builds, the tower seems to be well defended, I just want to see how it would be look like when all guns fire at the same time. I like the all bricks built base and the greenery. -

What's a DBG car, Professor? Diesel propelled? -
As a contrast to la Royale's inactiveness during the last months, the landlubbers of the Oleon empire were actively engaged in all sorts of construction tasks, for example this fort newly built at Crecopia. A young soldier is keeping watch on the top of the fort. The artillerymen are getting the guns ready to fire on any suspicious target. Here's a stair allowing the men to descend to lower level. Vive le Roi!

Why are we talking drink in a piratey forum, there's nothing to discuss, everyone shall drink rum. Seriously, my favourite drink is monster and gatorade. -

Me is AKB48 lastly, a Japanese idol group, they have around 200+ members and hundreds of songs, so I have plenty of choices when I want to listen something. -
That's a very piratey banner, it's a good idea to include the symbols of the four factions, and I noticed it has exactly the same colour scheme than your profile picture.

Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Bodi replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
It's great to see your different interpretations of xebec here, I like all of them and among the four models, I have to say Kurigan's last hull, the one built with grey plates is the most promising one, too bad it hasn't been completed. An update of my frigate wip, it was left on shelf for nearly half a year, the photo doesn't show it but it's covered by a fine layer of dust, so the next step will be probably dust cleaning. I'm not happy with the rigging neither but considering the current progress, I think I'll leave it like that. -

Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Bodi replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A nice looking ship, black goes well with blue. Personally square masts don't pose a problem to me, I've also masts built from plates on larger mocs, and they look just fine. It's hard to say from this angle but it seems that the hull could have more curves, but this depends on parts availability. -
I missed this ship somehow, hope it's not too late to say that you've done a nice job here. Bregir has made some good points here, and I totally with him about the custom rigging and sails, they add to the realism of a ship moc. if you don't mind, me too I'd like to say few words about junks, in fact the word "junk" came from cantonese, which means simply "boat", but this pronunciation differs greatly from mandarin, so when you say "junk", most Chinese won't understand what you meant. Secondly, junks usually didn't have tumblehome, nor ratlines. But don't imagine the job will be easier, :Lego hasn't provided us with a junk prefab yet, all must be done from scratch, and I think the 70618 Destiny Bounty is a good rendition of Chinese junks, basically we can copy its hull technique when building our own version. Concerning the sails, as Bregir said, paper is a good choice than cloth, because most of Chinese junks used to have rigid sails, but there were exceptions too. That's all.

Looking good! I like the warehouse and the minifigs.

A nice little scene, the wood-masonry tower looks quite good and the simple and effective use of parts reminds those sets I used to play with 30 years ago. -

Interesting text, accompanied with a nice dock scene, and that man pointing a rifle behind the window illustrates well the hostility between the pirates pirates and free traders. -
A house built on water, the angled door and the plank road/balcony give more life to the build, and there are even some plants beneath the bridge, nice job.
