  1. You know storm, there was a Santa Fe passenger train that looks a fair bit like your moc called the Blue Goose: https://www.pinterest.com/heymistergeo/1937-santa-fe-blue-goose/ Honestly one of the cooler looking streamliners out there...
  2. Considering these are your first Train Mocs (you're just getting into this right?) they look really great! My first moc looked like a hamburger...
  3. Two words: Erie. Triplex. I just discovered this brute via a google search and it's crazy: 2-8-8-8-2 Steam engine with the last -8-2 being under the tender. No idea how the crap this thing will fit R40, so.... But if they made this I would die (not before buying and building one of course)
  4. These look amazing! Will be ordering 1/2 and 1/4 straights (would also order Crossover, but don't have room to add) As for other track pieces, maybe a 45-degree crossover?
  5. Honestly, I could get behind this idea. They have $600+ sets in stuff like the Star Wars category, so this wouldn't be anywhere near Lego's price "limit". Maybe a yard type thing, a relatively large oval with a yard in the center. For engines a SW-7 and a PA-2 with a dozen or so freight cars (12-15 range) plus a caboose. For structures, maybe a switching tower and an unloading deck. Also an End-of-Track Bumper for each siding. Likely cost? $324.99 USD I have a feeling that this thread is about to get really interesting. In a good way.
  6. Looking good! I really like it, lots of room available!
  7. Thanks!
  8. The main reason is that Train plates are relatively expensive, and that it was the main reason I entered the raffle in the first place. Hm, hadn't thought of that... I like it, especially the 4x4 idea....
  9. Hey guys, I recently got Lego City 60103 Airport Air Show in a raffle. Normally this wouldn't require me saying anything about it, but one thing in the hanger caught my eye... It's a 6x24 dark grey plate used for the hanger roof. I'm wondering if it's at all possible to somehow use these pieces as a base for a train car/engine. I realize that there's no holes for the top of the pivots, but I'm thinking that I can add a 2x2 plate with hole in center to serve that purpose? So thoughts on this and it's realisticness? -Burkus Oops, accidentally created 2. Admins can you merge them?
  10. Oops! Wasn't clear! Meant to say any tips for people who want to combine 2 Holiday Train Engines into 1...
  11. No, like a full out, big, devoted freight station. Almost the size of two of the new-and-now-retired passenger stations back to back...
  12. Rob - Don't give up on the Lego! My first train was in '12 with the Red Passenger train 7938, and right now my 3 trains (I've added the Horizon Express, the Holiday Train, and 60052 (great set btw!) and accidentally subtracted 7938 in what the people of Brickerington simply refer to as "The Incident") and can only have a 6' x 9' table that's shared with my Lionel stuff and I still have loads of fun! Also, if you have an Incident of your own, you can simply make your MOCs from the aftermath... As for the far left siding, have you considered simply turning it around? Stay brickin' - it's worth it! -Burkus
  13. Dang it man, you beat me to it! Any tips in retrospect if you were to do it again/for anyone else who wants to do that too? As for 2017 trains, I don't know of anything, and I do doubt we will get anything due to the Holiday Train. I'm fine with a freight station
  14. I was going to say my praises, but they've already been said! That things a beaut!
  15. Sorry, somehow missed that. I'm 17 and will be turning 18 in May, so hopefully that's close enough...
  16. *Edit by Burkus* This is why you should always follow read the instructions. Hm. Is it possible to be socially awkward in the internet? I think I am.... Can I just point out how awkwardly awkward is spelled? It has a double double-u! How do you spell "w"? Where was I? Oh, yes... My pseudo-name is Burkus Circus. But you can just call me Burkus. Please don't call me Circus. Or Butkus. That's what it tends to autocorrect to. I don't even know what "butkus" means! My real world name is Matt LastNameThatImNotComfortableRevealing. But call me Burkus. It sounds cooler. Soy de Columbus, Ohio, y yo hablo espanol! But I won't use it. In addition to Lego, my hobbies include playing Hockey and Ultimate Frisbee, collecting hockey cards and jerseys, getting excited every Saturday (I'm an Ohio State fan) and depressed the next day (Browns). I'm a TFOL (Teenage Fan Of Lego), not AFOL. This is the second Website I write on, the other being hockeyjerseyconcepts. See ya at Train Tech!
  17. Hello, Internet! So yeah, I'm on you now. Hm... Ask me questions!!!! (Also, if I don't respond quickly, it's because I check my email barely 2 times a week. Barely...) I'll be in the Train Tech forum if you need me......
  18. I'm in the same boat. :) or boxcar...
