  1. Not sure how I missed this the first time around, but it's great! I like the dark pallette for it. The roof is great, and the texture with all the brick pattern 1x2 bricks is awesome. Really well done!
  2. There are too many things that I love about this to list. The roof color and texture, the overall color pallette, the doors, the stone floor... all awesome. My favorite part of the build is the dark and light contrasting areas of the wall near the door that incorporates plates. It really looks like the plaster has fallen off the wall. I am going to try and incorporate that design into some of my builds. The photography is also killer, especially with the blacklight. This whole build is phenomenal. Excellent work! Keep it up!
  3. Again, great scene of common people in a common scene really says volumes. I love the canal with the green in contrast with the sparse earth around it. The boards across the ditch are a nice touch. If there is anything I don't care for, it's the pirate face on the mini in front. That's my own preference, though, as I have never liked that face and don't think it goes well with anything but a pirate. Overall, very well done!
  4. What a neat idea! I like the scene of a person getting building materials for a structure. So many times the finished product is focused on and the journey there is lost. I really like the hole and the bricks drying in the sun of darker (presumably due to higher moisture content) color. Very nice!
  5. I like the sparse textures on the trees and the detail on the spire with the flags, showing wind direction. The ground looks kind of sparse, which one might say needs more detail, but I tend to think it lends to the bleakness of the whole scene. Nice work!
  6. Absolutely fantastic! I like the light grey tiles on dark grey stone. The whole thing gives me the feel of a revamped, more detailed, castle set from the 1980s. It reminds me a lot of Daniel Siskind's Blacksmith Shop. I love the interior and the opening features. I think the playability of the set makes this way above and beyond a model that is just a façade. Fantastic work!
  7. Excellent tiny vignette! I don't think I've ever seen the 1x2 tile before. What's that from? Love the figs. Good job!
  8. Really creative use of the translucent boulders and crystals! The whole scene gives me an evil, almost fantasy sci-fi feel to it. Very nice work!
  9. I like the overall color scheme. It lends to the idea of a war machine being built, I think. The dead tree and scaffolding are awesome. Great work!
  10. Very nice! The whole scene has a great feel, and the tower is very nice. I really like the mix of new light bley and old light grey pieces. The upside down 75° slope corners are great, too. Very well done.
  11. Very nice! I like the light purple and white leaves mixed. I think my favorite is the addition of flowers and white pieces to the light brown brush. Great job!
  12. LOL! The camel is awesome. I love it. The humor is great. The cliffs look really good, too! Nice job!
  13. Although a recent arrival to Avalonia, feel free to use Lady Gwenllian for the Alliance. She will not fight for the Spire side. She's a pretty simple mini; the only defining features are the red hair and traditional smiley face. She will likely be wearing armor, as she doesn't care for dresses much, so her hair could even be covered up. She likes the dark green colors, so those work well. Her actual figure uses the dragon armor, large dragon shield, dark green helmet with steel visor, dark green feather, and the body from the CMF evil knight. Her horse is also pictured below.
  14. I really like the way the horse is up to its shoulders in the swamp. Really neat idea! The whole setting is cool. The venus flytrap thing kind of reminds me of the remade sarlac in Star Wars. Nice job!
  15. Gorgeous build! I love the lines and think that the elven style really comes through with the graceful curves. I find that this style of building is one of the most difficult to capture with Lego and you did a great job. I also like the natural color pallette. The ton of green reminds me of many of the hardwood forests in the midwest of the US--lush and green. Great job!
  16. The giant eagle is pretty cool! It looks a little forced into the space required because of the angle, but I like the eagle when it's on its own. The wall and the texture there is nice, especially with the gilding along the bottom. Nice build!
  17. I really like the birds and the carrion horse. The build on the birds makes them look like vultures. Nice work!
  18. Really cool! I love the asymmetric design to the house and the texture of the wooden planks. The snow and vegetation on the roof is awesome, and the small little brick build pines are cool, too. I'm not 100% convinced on the smoke, but I think it's an excellent idea at building it (smoke is probably the most difficult thing I have seen to build with Lego). I love the attention to detail, too--like the firewood being under a sheltered portico and the slightly recessed paneling between frames of the structure. I think the minis were well-chosen as well and make the scene lively and believable. Awesome job!
  19. Fantastic! I really like the color scheme and the inclusion of plants growing over the entire structure with the olive green leaves. I like the whole base, too, as the dark bley works well. I would agree with Henjin that the satellite dishes make an odd smoke, but then again, I have not seen any smoke on any build that has particularly jumped out at me as "perfect". I think one of my favorite parts is the black roof made from slopes. I think that the slopes work really well for roofing and it seems like a lot of folks shun them in favor of brick built roofs. While each have their place, I think that your choice of slopes here is outstanding!
  20. I like the mix of greens and the plant on the corner. Nice little vignette!
  21. I found Nordana Castle via Flickr some months back, and it is one of my favorite castle MOCs. I think you really hit the right mixture of textured bricks, light and dark grey for the walls. The roof colors, the stream around the castle... it's everything that I would want out of a castle MOC. My hat's off to you. I would count you among the masters here. Awesome!
  22. Gorgeous! I really like the way everything looks like it's well-maintained. The stream winding through looks fantastic, and the entire build really captures what my imagination of Avalonia looks like. I love it!
  23. Thanks a bunch! I try to keep things funny if I can. More's the pity that there aren't whole regiments of dire sheep! Thanks on the tree, too. I spent some time messing with it to get it looking right. I'm glad that you like the rockwork! I want to spend some more time working on it, as something seems off to me about it... seems like it was a good first attempt, though, and I'm glad that everyone seems to be able to recognize it for what it was meant to be! Thanks a bunch! I am not an artist, but I am slowly figuring out how to make the colors work! Thanks! I'm still learning, but I appreciate the comments! The lamb is probably my favorite part. Thanks! Glad everyone seems to be enjoying the humor. Still learning, and I agree, more leaves = better. I just got another 300 of the leaf pieces, so they will show up in future builds.
  24. Great job! The base on this is cool with all the shields. The poodle also cracks me up! Are the orange and brown plant pieces meant to be straw or growth on the dungeon floor? Great use of Ariel's hair!
  25. I always look forward to your builds. This one does not disappoint! I love the creative use of the barrels, and the SNOT Tudor style works well. I think I'll experiment with that technique in some of my future builds. The overall color scheme is really nice, too, with the dark red and dark blue. Awesome!
