  1. Fun and silly freebuild, but freebuild nonetheless!
  2. Not to be outshone by their northern ursine cavalry brethren, the elves of the Dragon Clan in the Enchanted Forest in Avalonia had long maintained their fleet footed stag cavalry. Or, if you like, the generic stag unit.
  3. If true, it would make feeling for figures more difficult. May be a way to try and sell more full boxes, especially now that they're smaller.
  4. Are there non-licensed pigs that are to come available soon? All the pink ones from the pirate ship and HP were marked as Licensed earlier.
  5. They do have Satruday hours, at least here in the US, unless of course you work Saturdays.
  6. This is obviously speculation but I think there is some price point problems. The new HP series has sold out on the first day in neighboring towns, but in our town, the retailer marked up the CMFs to $6 each. There's a full box, untouched, sitting on the shelf. And the neighboring towns are almost an hour away, so it's unlikely that people are making that drive just for CMFs. There are some good points made in this thread. I wonder why the licensed and unlicensed themes are both $5? And why does the unlicensed themes, which theoretically make more money due to lower costs, always seem to include a 'throw-away' city-clone themed figure like the firefighter?
  7. My VIP points are coming in weird. If I have a $100 purchase, it shows up as four unequal amounts on the same day that add up to the right points. I have heard there are some issues with folks not getting the right points right now. Make sure to check your double VIP points and stuff you order on B&P, too, to make sure you get them, because sometimes they don't show up. Sorry you are having trouble with an order. I had trouble with one earlier this summer. They've been fairly fast recently for me, but I'm in the US. They supposedly have tracking on B&P and PAB now, although the B&P tracking is supposed to be on their end only. I have yet to see any of it. Glad they resent it! They're usually good about that.
  8. Finally got pieces from my last 8 orders together since July and got a picture.
  9. Very nice! You have a lot of great techniques here: the hammers as large stones on the porch, the not-fully-engaged roof tiles, the beautiful fall colors, the big fig arms as dirt at the corner... very well done. The door to the cabin with the slingshot handle and iron hinges is great. The woodpile looks good, with the potential exception of the cookies. I see what you were going for but I can't see anything but a giant log of frozen cookie dough stuck in with the logs! The color choices here are great, and you've managed to incorporate a lot of rare and unusual parts, particularly minifig parts, quite well. Does the cabin have an interior? Thanks for sharing!
  10. The colors here are a little daring but they pop well. I like the decoration around the stone archway and the use of the blue nexo shields for the market stand. I like the expression on Folwin, too! The produce stand is well made and has great use of SNOT on the front in such a small space. My only question when I look at it is how the lime green, which I associate with new growth and spring, goes with the dark red, which I associate with fall. Could it be that the first spring grass is rising and the winter was so mild that not all the leaves got knocked off the trees?
  11. Your color choice is excellent and the upside down build is great. The dark blue and white go well together.
  12. I just received six orders within 2 days. All ordered between the end of July and September 29th! Yes, I had an order take NINE DAYS from purchase to arrival. That is the fastest I have ever had one show up. Of course, the one that came the day before was ordered July 28th...
  13. If it were realistic, half the set would be pigeons and 1x1 white round plates.
  14. Very nice. I always wondered why TLG never made brown back in the day as much as they do now. It looks good. You have updated the set but preserved the classic feel, without making the set overly detailed. You have included some nice details such as the bird and owl, and updated the gold from yellow studs to actual gold pieces. It would be cool to see the original stag shields, but I understand these are in somewhat short supply. I particularly like your elegant take on the roof.
  15. Or, if you're like me, I'd never buy the set anyway, so they're just missing out on sales by not selling me the parts. I have, in fact, bought more of a specific part from a set than the set was worth. I may not be in the majority, but there are people like me out there.
  16. I thought there were much more interesting projects that could have been chosen compared to the one that was. That is an excellent point. Many of the Ideas projects that have been produced are more display pieces rather than playsets. I'm happy for detailed playsets like the Barracuda Bay and the Treehouse, but the Ship in a Bottle, the piano, the globe.... meh. I realize that this probably appeals to more of a non-Lego enthusiast and probably sells well, but I have little interest in these 'on the shelf' items. I am quite enthusiastic about the Blacksmith set coming out in the somewhat near future, however.
  17. I have seen some of his previous predictions based on his 'source' and they have turned out to be good, so I suspect this is credible. How did he forget the name of the other building though? He needs a script too.
  18. No, that was before my time on here, but here's the original EB Thread on Tigelfah Castle.
  19. Ha! Good point. Platypuses (platypi?) are weird critters, and the niffler definitely looks like one.
  20. Very pretty use of the dark orange leaves with the bright orange flowers that make the scene very autumn like. I like how they are tilted at various angles. The plants in rows at a diagonal give some nice spacing, too. While the lime green is artistically very pretty, it seems realistically somewhat incongruous with the rest of the scene, since, to my mind, the lime green is a bright color of new growth, something that would be unlikely in the fall during harvest. It would be interesting to see what this would look like with olive or tan instead (although with tan you'd have to change the base to something else like dark brown or stone grey), perhaps giving it a more 'fall' feel. Of course, this is a fantasy setting, so it could be that the lime green is quite normal for plants near to dormancy in this part of the world, in which case, this would fit well, or even the fall tree colors may be indicative of spring! Nice work, as always!
  21. Really cute little vignette! I love how much detail you pack into each of these little things. The SNOT use of the slope pieces for carved stone on the fireplace is great as are the technic table legs. Nice job!
  22. Very nice to see a large scale castle! I look forward to seeing the progress. I like the stained glass and the detail on the gate so far! To post pictures, use the img BBcode like this, but without the line breaks inbetween: [img] URL [/img] It's a little like HTML but with brackets. There is an obnoxious auto-formatting feature on these forums, however, so you should check the preview to make sure that it didn't format it incorrectly (I had to edit this post three times to make this show correctly, and it still won't if I paste it in, so I had to use line breaks). Usually copying and pasting from the 'share' links Flickr or Imgur will make it show correctly. For example, I have added one of your above pictures here so that it displays the picture and not the link: If you're looking for some inspiration, a few builders on here collaborated on a historic-inspired UK castle that they named Tigelfah Castle a few years back.
  23. Very nice work. I like the way you added texture while keeping the light grey color largely. I think that it helps lend itself to the classic castle vibe while still adding texture. The brick work that emulates the wattle and daub of the original large printed pieces also looks fantastic. I particularly like your color choices that hearken to the classic castle while still adding a few new colors, such as the browns and the great use of the new goldenrod tree elements. You may want to raise the fence between the lists. I think they were generally higher so the horses didn't trip on them. This would make a really nice set, or group of sets that one could purchase modularly. I would love to see TLG let you design a new castle theme!
  24. Yeah, I’ve gotten them before. They usually fall apart on me.
