  1. But taming and riding bears on the other hand...
  2. From what I’ve seen real world religious discussion is frowned upon but the fantasy religions are fine. I included Neptune the sea god in a shrine in one of my builds and no one seemed to care. I haven’t seen much in the way of a cohesive story for Historica though. I could be wrong so I would wait for the guild leaders’ replies.
  3. You have to be willing to have all your parts held up. They tell you if they backorder one part, all the parts will wait to ship until the one part is available. If you're awaiting several parts to come back in stock and can back order all of them (and don't need the other parts right away), it's usually worth it. Most of my orders are backordered in this way due to the unavailability of parts at a given time, and because I'm not in a hurry to get any of my parts.
  4. Great job building a complex story, as usual! I applaud you for tackling a darker, more serious subject in a mature manner. I think it is interesting to read more of the realistic, more complex story that deals with character development that is probably very much life like and yet something many people don't like to talk about. I like reading about each of the members of Conrad's crew, too. Great idea to develop each of them individually with different stories. I really like the dungeon build with the juxtaposition of the wooden columns against the stone, and your wonderful furnishings are highly detailed. Are the torsos for Scarlet custom stickers? I don't recall seeing anything like that before, and they work perfectly for what they are. The sack on the head is great, as mentioned before, even if it's a reuse! Love the outdoor build! The rounded rooftops are great, and I love the irregular base and change in elevation. The weather vane is awesome! The craziness in the street with the foot traffic and animals is exactly what I would imagine for a medieval build. Very cool. The room where he's chained up is hilarious. Love him chained up to the wall. Great builds and entertaining story. Nice job!
  5. The nice thing about ordering on the phone is the ability to back order. You can order the olive plants that are out of stock and just wait for them to ship when back in stock.
  6. Yeah, that, the goblin torso and head and something else that I can’t remember were called in. That was in May, however, so more of them may have become available since then.
  7. Ooh! This is awesome. Love the HP wands on the rooftop corners. You do a great job at keeping your Mophet builds consistent and yet keeping them interesting. I think it would be a lot of fun to see them all connected in one huge display! The guy pulling all the junk in the wagon is hilarious. Your SNOT use of the mosaic in the closest wall looks great and is very middle east feeling to me. Just the right touch of gold decoration, and the pigs eating the vine is hilarious! Great job!
  8. Interesting group of characters. What's the family business again? You planning on building some vignettes for each? I loved those from the other families.
  9. Ha! Nice take on an old set. I like the layered roof, and the use of the burgundy cape. The red/dark red go well together, too. Nice job!
  10. Very beautiful! I really like the frozen lake in the first picture because of the glare off the ice. The big evergreen is great, and I like the scraggly trees. If I were to offer suggestions, I would try to avoid the square corners of the snow plates in the path and in the green patches. It seems kind of minecrafty. I know it's difficult to get the right wedges, but you can sometimes cover these corners up with wedges on top if you layer them. Unless it's nighttime, I would not use a black background either. I know there's use in contrast against the white leaves, but it makes the build seem much smaller and closed in. White would be useful, but in this case, grey may be better. Great work, though, and I love seeing your builds!
  11. Really beautiful work. Love the use of the purple for the trees. The ice and water look awesome! The birch tree may be a little too straight for my tastes, but it looks good. The tower is really the standout here, and that's saying something since getting a straight tower to look detailed like that is tough to do. I really like the texture you get with all those masonry bricks and yet have the lines still clean. The olive green plates there are tasteful and well done, as are the decorations with the inverted 1x1 plates. The snow looks great, and I love the little blue flowers at the edge. The ornamented roof is great, and I like your incorporation of the lion heads, which are harder to make look seamless than people think. Love seeing you build in Mitgardia!
  12. The numbers above are correct. Oddly, though you have to order them separately, they arrive together, as the bags are joined.
  13. This is two orders combined, but missing 18 elements due to an error (they are reshipping). First order still not here, probably is lost in the mail. Sorry some of the bricks are overlapping, I'm short on time for pictures.
  14. I did Friday. Hopefully this shipment won't be problematic. I understand about the virus, but when I have already received my B&P order that I made a week after that first one... probably lost in shipping. One good piece of news: according to the rep I spoke to on the phone, all new B&P orders now have tracking! After all the ordering I have done over B&P over the years, I have only had one element missing from any of my orders. I have had a box crushed and a few elements destroyed, which TLG promptly replaced, and I may now have my first lost package, but I have been very impressed overall. I also usually receive some free pieces (this happens most often when you purchase 200 of a given element). Calling vs. online ordering: Calling has a limit of 15 element types here in the US. However, if you call in, you can order pieces that are currently out of stock. It essentially puts your entire order on backorder until all of the elements are back in stock, but, if you're like me and have little time coinciding with the hours that TLG is open, it's easier to backorder and wait than it is to keep placing multiple orders. If you order elements this way, you won't get a screen shot, and the prices can change, so be careful.
  15. Gorgeous! I didn't know the quarter circle tiles were out in dark green yet... I'll have to get some! Love the leaf weaving on the tree. It looks very natural. As usual, the flowers are great! I like the sunflower looking ones, and I think the mandrakes are fantastic. The well is well done (lol) and the stone wall looks good, especially with the cat on top. Love the little snail hiding in the back, too. Great job!
  16. Ordered May 20th. Shipped May 27th. Still not here.
  17. Ha ha! Glad you liked it. I always like blowing off some steam with a silly build at the end. Thank you! Bob has been very sad to enter the medieval world when no one knows what OT is. Thanks! I like incorporating everyday life for us when we can. It always makes a humorous juxtaposition with the distinctly medieval period. As for Bob, he's usually left cleaning up the plumbing messes because no one else wants to do it! Thank you! I enjoy throwing in those little anachronisms for the joke builds. Thanks! Yeah, the plant pieces came in olive in the bookstore modular, but I ordered them (and the black ones) off B&P (element 6285465). They were $0.15 USD each back in January. Thank you! I had a lot of fun building it and working with my conspirators collaborators! You can get some more pics at our collab build thread. You are correct, the curved ornamented fence pieces (I bought these off B&P) are the landings for the spirals. I wasn't sure how the spirals would look for a railing, but I think they did OK! I enjoy writing Bob after the challenges. He seems so out of place it's hilarious. I love the idea of Epic Voice Guy reading it. That would be hilarious! Thank you! I got the idea for the olive green plants from @LittleJohn. Thanks! You can see the plants on fire over at the full thread. I wanted to make some scorch marks on the wall but ran out of time. C'est la vie!
  18. I'm usually ho-hum on microscale builds, but you really killed this one. The layered water is great, the horns over the doorway, and the golden snitch is awesome. I don't know how you had the patience to balance those three leaf plants. I don't even have a table in my house steady enough to do that!
  19. Wow! What a great choice for the three colors to use as a temple! It makes the whole thing look very clean. The mosiac in the floor is awesome, too. Great job!
  20. I really love watching Mophet grow. The colors you have here are great, especially that green tilework and the light blue flowers. The photo makes the water look like it has a lot of depth, which is great. I didn't know that oil lamp came in blue, but it looks good! The tilework in the covered hallway is very nice, and I like the tea saucer ornamentation. I haven't made up my mind about the salmon tiles near the fountain, if they make it look too busy or not, but you did a good job keeping them subtle, so I think they work. As usual, very well done!
  21. Yeah, super random. I had two orders: both had B&P and PAB. Order #1 PAB arrived today with Order #2's B&P. Usually PAB shows up later. Order #1 B&P is now 19 days and counting from shipping only, so I'm getting a little worried about it. Too bad there's no tracking on B&P, at least here in the US. I've got to go through some of my stuff and make sure it's all there, then I'll try and get a loot shot!
  22. The "s-word" is considered impolite in formal English. It may be a translation error, too, since that word can be used in other languages and does not have the same impolite connotation in those languages, so a direct translation may not be intentional. For anyone who wants to know words you should probably avoid in English, go to YouTube and Google "George Carlin Seven Dirty Words You Can't Say on Television", but be warned, it is explicit (obviously). He presents all the words banned on public television in the US in a very humorous way.
  23. Seems that we're in an unusual time here in the US for delays. We are having longer shipping than warehouse times now. I had an order that spent 7 days in warehouse and has now taken 18 days for shipping and isn't due in until sometime next week, but the delivery date keeps getting pushed back 1-2 days each day I check. I assume this is due to the virus. I have two more B&P orders that I have placed after that which have shipped but don't even have a scheduled delivery date yet.
  24. Welcome to the guilds! You have a great story and the scene is well-described. It really sparks the imagination and you get the sense of being there in the mountains. I love the little details like the missing hand still clutching the sabre in the brush. Good job posing the minis and showing the action there. Good job limiting the colors of the build and making the vegetation seem sparse up in the mountains. If I were to suggest something, it would be to add some more lighting, particularly from the sides, as it helps to eliminate shadows. If the side lighting is too harsh, you can filter it through a thin white sheet or translucent white/clear piece of plastic. Great intro, and I look forward to more!
  25. Welcome! Love Keira's backstory, well done!
