I love watching Mophet grow. You have a great eye for the architectural lines of Kali, and your attention to detail really unify the builds into one city, even if we can't see it all at once. I like the incorporation of the new BAM shields, and the simple and elegant lines of the decorations at the top. I like the planters, too, but there is somewhat of a slight feeling of incongruity that I couldn't place until I looked at it several times, and I think that the curved edges of the planters are somewhat at odds with the angular trim on the top of the building. Of course, if this was a remodel of an old building, it's exactly what you'd expect, since buildings get remodeled all the time and have varying architectures running together. I really like the use of the large copper swords as door handles, too. As always, the whip trees are great! Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing more of Mophet!

HSS is the Historican Settlements thread in which you build to certain categories and get your town on the map! -
[MOC] Jörmungandr, the Sea Serpent

Awesome build! Love the dark background and the juxtaposition of the dark blue with the white of the snow. The light blue tiles are perfect for the cold sea, and I really like the plate built path up to the cliff. Those things take a while to build and yours looks good. I really like the story that goes along with the build. Great theme of sacrifice and tradition. Keep up the good work! If you're doing HSS and this is near Valnötstrad, I'd count it as a holy site under Religion. -
OMG those are expensive! Well, no flying monkeys for me!

Brilliant work as usual! You have such an amazing sense of color. It really brings each creation to life! I love them all! The fire dancer, shaman, mermaid, and queen area really amazing. The colors on the mermaid are really eye catching. The fire dancer is exactly what I would have imagined. I love the use of the tattooed face and aquaman's printed hair for the shaman. The queen looks very regal in a formal, but not ornate garb. The elf hair looks great on the necromancer. I would have never thought to use the wonderwoman torso, but it looks great on the swashbuckler. Great us of the patronus on the illusionist, and tying it all together with the trans light blue. The groot doll is hysterical and perfect, too! I have a few questions for you: 1. Where are the harpy's legs from? I don't remember the goat legs in that color. 2. How do you manage to take the arms out and put them on again without getting them loose? Mine are always sloppy after I swap them. 3. How do you design the minis? Do you get inspired by a part, or do you have an idea of what you want before starting? Or do you simply go in and randomly grab pieces until you are happy with something? It's always very good, and I don't think I'll ever get that inspired, but it would be interesting to know your process.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Don't worry about the warehouse part of it. Once it's shipped is when you need to start keeping track. I had an order that shipped May 27th and it still hasn't arrived. That one is lost. I have some others that are still in warehouse, no big deal. -
Yes, and as far as I know, yes. These came pre-packaged from the BAM stations from what I was told.

[MOC]Under the Guidance of the Ancients

What a fun MOC! I was curious how your brightly colored character would fit into his environment, and you have made some excellent color choices. I really like your use of the blue background, too, instead of the standard white. I think it really fits the build. The broken column is a great idea. Glad it wasn't load bearing! The sand green base is fairly simple, yet rather elegant with the plants, too. Well done!- 7 replies

Very nice work! I am always impressed when people are able to make a good looking LDD MOC. Mine look like a two year old made them! The castle has a great classic feel, but isn't a derivative of any one set, which is great. I can see inspiration from a number of different classic sets, and even some from the Lowenstein castle, too. The mini build within the castle is hilarious. I'd love to see more pictures of the interior. I really like the mix of the stone and tudor textures. Well done!

I guess I'm less picky. The white bird looks more like a pigeon than the seagull does!

Welcome to the guilds! Look forward to seeing your builds! -
It is true that ABS can discolor through oxidative degradation of the polymer. However, without knowing the material constituents, it's difficult to state exactly what is going on in the process.

It is licensed since it's in the Burrow set. -
I would assume that the pathway to bloom is likely thermal not UV. Sunlight puts out a tremendous amount of thermal energy, so the thermal process can be mistaken for UV. Attics can get notoriously warm, and it doesn't take much to cause bloom in some of the old parts. Some of the UV talk here is not about causing bloom but rather cleaning it off. In this the UV is needed for breaking down the hydrogen peroxide.

You're welcome! It's not a set I'd think of as a 'regular' place to find such a torso, so it's a little unusual. -

It's not yet. I just called yesterday and it hasn't been released for BnP yet. -
I am very excited. A friend of mine came by today to give me a set of minis he picked up on his travels. I've got a dachshund now! I have the best friends.

Wow! That is spectacular! I really love the face. It's hard to get eyes right, and you really nailed it. You and @Henjin_Quilones have some really spectacular dragons and brick built beasties! The color scheme is excellent, and I the use of the frost and blue tail is great. It looks pretty sturdy. Does it have good balance, too? Excellent work!

Halloween Hayride New B&P order arrived: Hard to tell, but the black hair is the black version of percival graves hair. I think it came from Fenrir. As for the pig being licensed, I was told it is going to be in a Harry Potter set. Looks like the burrow has it. -
[MOC] Sannhetens Fjell - The Mountain of Truth

Super cool use of the microscale. I want to see the full sized one now! The white dragon blending in with the clouds is great, and I like the use of the various colors signifying the layers of rocks making up the mountain. I bet the castle is very cold! Great job! -
I'll admit, I'm usually not the biggest fan of the cartoony asian builds, but you did a fantastic job here making this have a much more historic feel rather than cartoonish. Love the long stacks of bamboo leaves and their denseness flowing right into the stalks. Your use of the angled red pieces is visually stunning, and the stone stairs crumbling seals the deal. Very nice work!

If the VAT is applied to sellers in the EU, will the sellers pass this along to sellers in the US despite the US not requiring VAT? If so, it will be the end of my purchases from Europe, since postage, 20% VAT, and US sales tax, plus fees, will make ridiculously high charges from the EU (I wouldn't be surprised if this amounted to a 40-50% surcharge).

I am in the same boat as several others here. I don't have a lot of time anymore, so I buy more sets than I can build, keeping them to build until later. Most of these sets I wind up opening and dumping into bags, breaking down the boxes and saving the instructions and stickers, all just to save space. A few I keep unopened to build with my child when he gets old enough, and a very few I have bought exclusively as investments to sell later and keep them MISB on a shelf. For the most part I find that I can store more when they are broken down in Ziploc bags. I also tend to look up the boxes and see what they are worth. If they're not worth much I recycle them due to lack of space. I would love to keep them all but I'm so limited on space I would have to stack the boxes floor to ceiling. I do keep a few that have value or because I really like the box art though, such as all of the modulars.
