  1. Oh absolutely either of those guys, always appreciate a Lantern. And then also the opportunity to make an Australian wildlife set/series would be too good to give up I’ve acquired a couple of them over the years but not completed the series for the very reason you mentioned.
  2. Well that’s a feasible set in itself. Two of the characters have already been made, and a cat mould exists. This really would be a left field way to get a kangaroo!
  3. It would be unfair, not least because other themes have been celebrated. I’m really hoping the next raft of DC films will be well enough received that the increasingly reactionary Lego will do something positive.
  4. If they do something for this I really hope they go for something a bit different and not a remake. Or conversely remakes of the original line so we can have updated Penguin subs and Scarecrow biplane etc.
  5. If this turns into a Batmobile collection thing then a different villain or Bat family member would be grand, and if it’s a repeated character then the balance should be struck by having an exclusive Batsuit. I mean if they want to do this then they can at least put the effort in, as the potential is there for it to be quite the standout line.
  6. We’ll have to hold them to that then!
  7. I must be missing something here because the only image I have seen is Wanda with printing on her tiara.
  8. The Shazam Family would be so easy for them to make as well.
  9. Granted on some of those but it’s widely accepted that those dinos are from JW, especially as Lego makes them. The Kong ownership story is incredibly muddy and in this case confusing as Legendary, who split from Warner, announced that they would be making Skull Island with Universal in 2014, only to announce in 2015 that they would now be making it with Warner in order to make the Godzilla film series. It took two and a half years to make TLBM, which means there was the briefest period of crossover time, and I reckon anyone would be hard pressed to find the exact date when Kong was approved for the film. Also the only thing PD about Jason and the Argonauts is the trailer, because for whatever reason all trailers from before 1964 are PD.
  10. Sauron is courtesy of NewLine, the Wicked Witch, Flying Monkeys and Kraken from MGM, dinosaurs and King Kong from Universal, the skeleton army from Columbia, and Jerry Maguire (not minifigure form but would still have required licensing) from Tri-Star.
  11. I don’t know, unlike live action films where certain characters can’t appear because they’ve got a role in this TV show or that film, or they don’t want to use them to avoid confusion, TLBM directors were essentially given carte blanche as to who they wanted in the story. There wasn’t anyone off limits from above, they chose the ones that fit the story. Unless the Disney Marvel execs are so tight they could be used to manufacture copper wire, I don’t think such a deal would be unachievable.
  12. Surely that’s worse. If the crossover was in the pitch and it got turned down, or approved but with changes, that’s a room full of out of touch executives.
  13. If the suggested crossover was with Marvel, it would have been a pretty dull meeting to have pulled the pin from that.
  14. Nothing for anything SDCC seems to have popped up. On the strength of that I’m going to say something CW inspired with will leave equal parts uninterested and annoyed that a comic book counterpart won’t get made.
  15. I think I’d rather they just said nope, there were no sequel plans, instead of dangling a fake carrot on a stick. I would have bought the entire wave without question.
  16. My hopes are here. If they can make a whole wave of sets for the Eternals on the pretext that it’s Marvel so it should be good, then they can take a risk and make a Shazam Family. There’s such a rich vein of characters coming in cinematic form, I’d be really pleased to see them in Lego.
  17. One of the promotional photos for the Hulkbuster makes it look like it’s passing gas. Is that an emissions/exhaust feature? Christmas Iron Man looks unfinished.
  18. Even if it was intended as a swastik, it’s not canted ie on the diagonal, so it would be more representative of its true, original use. That and it’s a somewhat half arsed swastik.
  19. I like that cowl a lot better than the first. Still not sure if they’re for me, but I appreciate the input.
  20. Welcome to the dark side, try not to get sucked into the lack of joy regarding number of sets. That’s an interesting question, and I’d honestly struggle to answer definitively because I think everyone has their own favourite Batmobile, and discussion on the best/definitive/most iconic can prove endless. Batman has Batmobiles like society darlings have evening dresses, and he really has one for every event, much like his Batsuits. My personal favourite - the 1940s version with the red stripe and the massive fin - hasn’t been officially Legofied yet, but I do quite like the BvS and Beware the Batman cars. My favourite Batsuits are the ones that veer off the track somewhat, in particular the Knightmare suit. A Grayson favourite for me is the one that came in the Deathstroke set. Joker has needed a revamp for the best part of a decade, so I have a bashed version that uses the standard outfit and head with TLBM hair and coattails. Further than that, enjoy the surprising variety that the same characters and vehicles can provide.
  21. My primary interest was how you got the five sided shape, and I am impressed with Lego for making those Nexo pieces capable of doing it and with you for finding that and for creating this. Still love it.
  22. I agree, it does seem like an odd idea, one that I don’t see the point of. Give the brand a chance to show the current direction, not scrap it to fit with one film. That would make it no different from the Snyderverse.
  23. The mods will most likely close this as the threads run on a year by year basis, and the 2021 one is still going.
  24. Acid as in lemony or sour, specifically citric acid. Outdates the drug reference by a few decades.
  25. Being a bit of a specky nerd when it comes to stickers, I use the sharp end of a brick separator for most of them and a 2x6 or 2x8 plate to help keep the bigger ones as flat as possible. It’s not flawless, but it does a decent job. If it’s one that has to line up with another one I try and line it up and apply it straight on. Curved pieces are devils though, there’s no denying that. Enjoying your reviews, this wave is shaping up nicely. Will you do the giant figures if they come your way?
