Unless I’ve misread it I took it to mean that we are unlikely to get dedicated sets based upon race or disability, rather than their inclusion in licensed or in house sets. On their own diversity and inclusion page they only show the wheelchair bound minifigure from the City pack which came out five years ago, and a cartoon brick depicted in a wheelchair. On the same site are the EiA and QE sets, as well as various rainbow coloured figs. Additionally the title image depicts all able bodied yellow figures and the rainbow flag. Now as has been mentioned sexuality isn’t visible, and the issue of skin tone in non licensed sets is it’s own topic, and not all disabilities are visible, but many are. Lego has been making ye olde worlde disabled minifigures since the dawn of the Pirates theme, but there’s none here and they weren’t created because they were disabled or to show solidarity. You could argue that those in the image are all current era, but Redbeard was in the 2020 Ideas set. It’s a prison of Mr Ashton’s own device, as by creating these two sets on the bounce and by stating in an interview that the diversity he’s referring to is ultimately based upon where one sits under the LGBT+ umbrella, and not much else. So unless he’s got some sets based on racial identity and disability then he’s not being very inclusive. https://www.lego.com/en-gb/sustainability/people/diversity-and-inclusion/

Having just finished the ‘66 Batmobile, I’m now thinking that I might have to acquire the ‘89 GWP set, and am hoping that the Tumbler comes with a stand as well. I’m not sure that the newly leaked one will, but it’ll be nice to have a good run of them. Here’s hoping it will be 8 wide, otherwise it’ll look out of place. -

Get on, I’m really looking forward to seeing how these come out. Outside of TLBM it’s nice to see sets that go together. Come on reveal day! -
I’m not feuding with anyone, I like the set, I understand that it’s colour isn’t entirely right and I’m ok with it. When talking about a flip of the coin I was referring to colour, not the image on the side of the box. I’ve not even argued about it, I like the question mark because as you say it’s the more iconic. The colour is what would have been discussed. It had to have been, it was a design meeting.

It’s not ? vs !, it’s red vs yellow. Yellow isn’t Mario 64 accurate, but I can see greater appeal in it. I’m sure they went through the options during the early design process, and I’m sure there’s a valid reason for it. They have similar properties in design terms, so it may have been a flip of the coin in the end.

Jeez, that first one kills you in your sleep, doesn’t he? -
This set is bold, interesting, and different, and I like that. It would seem that Nintendo wanted to do something different from the typical minifigure based lines, and they carried it out. With any luck this will pave the way for other interesting builds.

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

It’s all part of Bruce/Batman’s plan to seemingly appear in two places at once, he just got carried away like with everything else and foolishly asked Lex to help with the cloning. I’ve just looked and it’s worse than that, one Bruce has the same head as several SW, JW, and Marvel guys and Lucius Malfoy. The newest Bruce is also Draco Malfoy and Shang Chi. This is what really goes on in Wayne Enterprises R&D department! -

@CNF some of the characters were put in because they haven’t had a sensible place for them in a set, and the variants were there because they wanted to include the character, but not as they regularly appear. Having said that, the series was an opportunity to complete the OG lineup of the Legion of Super Heroes, and with the existence of the Darkseid bigfig and Parademons, they’ve had plenty of time to conceive a Fourth World set. I am glad that they’ve started the JSA, but I’m enough of a realist to know that they are unlikely to complete it. -

Well I’m glad that I can pass on the larger Tumbler, possibly BLing the figs, but that minifigure scale one is coming home with me! Demon Bats and Scarecrow? It’s a triple crown set for me, love it. It doesn’t look that way, which is odd but I’ll cope. -

They’ve made the central driving position with windows for a start. Then there’s the rear tyres. Lots of little changes as well. If they have made it more stable to pick up and move I’ll be happy. I was asking for the ’66 version to be fair. -
Warwick Davis has reduced his appearance fee?

Hall of Doom. Arkham has been done a couple of times now but I would love a Belle Reve build with dedicated Task Force X facility. There’s S.T.A.R. Labs, D.E.O., the Planet, Hall of Justice, Titans Tower, Iceberg Lounge, the Lexcorps building, Danny the Street, the Houses of Secrets and Mystery, Doctor Fate’s Sanctum to name a few. -

I can’t see the Hydra Stomper on anything other than the Lego site, but John Lewis and Smyth’s show the Shang Chi sets in stock. -
Well I think that set is outstanding and all of the Potterheads in our house would be delighted to own it.

They can do a character pack with Harley, Digger and Polka Dot Man, and a small build, some guns, dynamite and starfish, and nothing new other than the printed packaging. That’s minimal effort. What are there, 15 or so named characters? Don’t spoil anything… -

I think part of the decision to go down to 12 figures a series was the ability to make boxes of 36 with an even spread, likewise the bigger boxes. Kills off the notion of a chase figure as well. -

Oh yeah, and I don’t blame Gunn for ramping up the er, excitement levels at all. The name is also a roadblock, unless it was marketed under the Task Force X name. A big, balls to the wall set with the Squad up against the big bad would be the jewel in my collection though. I used to work in an auction and once I came across a 1979 Kenner action figure of the alien from Alien. Apparently no one at Kenner wondered why the toy rights to this particular franchise were so cheap, and were ultimately disappointed that sales were very low. They’re pricey things now. I digress. -

You need somewhere for Peacemaker seriously though this would have been such a good relaunch pad. What’s more disappointing is that this film is going to be better than the first, which spawned tie-in sets. The trouble is I’ve seen the Funkos for this film now, so I know what I want. -

DC Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I came out of my dark age when the line was rebooted ten years ago, and read that there were earlier sets. The prices were obscene then, one of the worst in terms of price per piece was the Bat Buggy and Mr Freeze set. The Brick Link prices for a “new” set right now are up in the £140 area for a 66 piece set, and it hasn’t really changed much in that time.
