  1. I would be gutted if the very first Lego Swamp Thing was the dying, burnt out husk from DN:DM. The monster truck yes, but primarily I would love a Hellbat-cycle.
  2. I’d quite like to have seen Penguin get a car, but honestly with the Speed Champion chassis I can moc something. These sets generally fit the tone of the film really well, which is a) pretty full on for kids and b) nice to see Batman actually beating the snot out of various henchmen.
  3. Well they’ve shot themselves in the foot with this one, because I seem to recall during a Q&A about the Bugle they equated the lack of DC sets/vast quantity of Marvel sets to how many films were out. Five films, I want sets for all.
  4. Both he and Etrigan appeared in an episode of the follow up The New Batman Adventures. So DCAU but not BTAS
  5. At $15 it’s a steal. The timing is what screwed it’s release. The build is great, all those lovely printed gold tiles, Diana’s Golden Eagle armour, and another Cheetah variant. The only letdown is the figbarf excuse for a third figure.
  6. Given how they allocate slots to Marvel film sets, it would have to be an incredible turn of events for Aquaman to get that much love. Or any character who doesn’t wear the cowl and cape. Don’t get me wrong, I loved how Atlantis came across on the screen and would love to have seen more characters, but it was never going to happen. I will be very happy to see Aquaman, Flash, and Black Adam sets, should they come.
  7. The Batman Batmobile gets a polybag, meaning it’s available in three scales. That’s a pretty exclusive club with just the Tumbler as a fellow member, unless I’m mistaken.
  8. Klarion wasn’t in the running to be with the book but mentioned in the blurb of the book which has led to speculation about him being in an upcoming set. If anything that silhouette was a shoe-in for Guy Gardner, still MIA. As DC has pretty chaotic form when it comes to this theme, it’s fitting that Klarion Lord of Chaos gets a mention.
  9. I genuinely can’t remember without going to look Inflation hasn’t affected them if that’s the case. I’ll have to see if John Stewart works with the hair. If Klarion turns out to genuinely be on his way, I really hope that Lego see fit to provide a suitable foe who isn’t Batman with some brick built magical contraption. The first choice is obviously the Demon (with Jason Blood), but honestly I’d be happy with any homo magi or member of the JLD. Come on Lego, do this one thing, make a set where Batman doesn’t save the day or the other character is an afterthought.
  10. It’s not as long as the previous one, but length doesn’t always dictate content. Right now it’s £14.99 on Amazon preorder, so I might get that sorted soon.
  11. Klarion wasn’t touted as the exclusive, but teased in the blurb of the book which led to speculation about a future set. With this announcement the rumour hasn’t gone away. The book is due out in May I believe, so logic dictates that we should know about it by then.
  12. Essentially no one got their own set until the first Avengers film, and even then Cap’s first set is for Civil War, Iron Man’s is from 3, Thor’s is also 3. You have to wait for Ant-Man and Guardians before you get characters who get sets from their self-titled debuts. If you go onto Bricklink or Brickset and look for lists of sets, they both have comprehensive lists. Other search methods are available, I’m sure.
  13. That Val-Zod looks brilliant. I’m going to buy it anyway, but I’m very happy with that. I felt the JSA needed boosting the other day.
  14. Man, the scope for a System scale DC set is vast. Assuming that’s what it is, for the price it would have to be immense in size, or more than one building. There's also the possibility of padding out any of the superhero ‘families’ as well as rogues galleries. If the Bugle is any reflection, there’s also room for some non-powered peeps as well. At that price there’s room for a big fig. Of course it could be some blah Marvel build, but I’m not giving up just yet.
  15. Ditto. Maybe if we send positive thoughts it might actually go our (the inhabitants of the DC thread) way for once. The equivalent of the Daily Bugle would be great. Something like the Planet under attack and a handful of new faces, like the Superman Revenge Squad.
  16. Well courtesy of one of the new City sets, I can see Egghead’s mech getting an upgrade. That eggsplat appears to be a modified Nexo shield.
  17. I really like the set. The vibrancy of the new uniforms fits the setting and the brief. It’s for kids, there’s no guarantee that they are a permanent fixture, and I can honestly say that in my fourteen years of formal education, I can’t remember a time when every single aspect of the various uniforms matched exactly. Talk about storm in a teacup.
  18. Let’s face it, the list of possibilities and so far missed opportunities for DC builds is pretty long. I’m currently rocking the idea of a Death Metal Batcycle, not that it would stand a chance during the ‘can we sell this to kids’ stage of the process.
  19. Well that’s quite dull. Damnit Lego, show DC some love!
  20. I would like it to be, and I would also like it to be something minifigure scale. And awesome. I live in hope.
  21. Well it does resemble the hats from the Durmstrang set, but the hats seen in the film look more like ushankas with the flaps up. We’ve got the mould with flaps down.
  22. You’ll find that this discussion will not be officially opened until January 1st, and it’ll be by a mod.
  23. I seem to remember some thirty years ago that when I was brazenly modding my Pirates as a child, that there isn’t a left/right/wrong aspect to the peg leg. I wanted variation in my crew, and figured that not everyone who lost a leg would have lost the same one. Having said that Moody Mk 1 has the peg leg and it doesn’t look right.
  24. Surely the rest of the band has to follow. I know Lego has an equality quota to fill, but you gotta have the rest of the Teeth, right?
  25. Oh totally, we live in south Devon so just popping in the car and heading for Cardiff to do a treasure hunt isn’t something we can do on a whim. At least it’s something that can be achieved here, not like trying to win anything from the NY or SD comic cons.
