  1. It does say you can do it from home by solving clues online.
  2. The original series is the same number of episodes as Fawlty Towers, as Ricky Gervais saw that as the ultimate sitcom benchmark and stopped there.
  3. With a speculated Guy Gardner as well, could the Lanterns finally get a decent look in? Too many hopes being raised here. I want to be excited but I’m well aware of Lego’s history with DC and letdowns.
  4. I’m really stoked that they are tapping the mythological vein for the second film. If this and BA don’t get a second thought it’ll be a real shame. The potential here and the talk of non-movie figures is dangerously raising my hopes.
  5. LB3 was 2014. DCSV was 2018 but Beyond wasn’t a playable character. Would they keep a license on holdlike that for seven years?
  6. Farrell channeling his inner de Niro Capone, I like it. Pattinson looks like he can hold his own, even with the floppy hair. That trailer makes me want to see this and buy the sets.
  7. The Riddler fig is green, albeit olive green rather than bright or dark. Granted it’s not particularly vibrant, but it’s not grey.
  8. I’m a Charlton fan so Blue Beetle, Captain Atom, Question, Peacemaker, and Nightshade would be a nice start for me. There are so many, many more that I would be happy to see, though.
  9. I refer you to my earlier comment it looks to have a motorcycle helmet as well. The only thing that struck me as odd about this set was how easy it would be for a genius like Riddler to work out the Batman’s identity. The overpass has Wayne Terminus across it and the holding cell has a very stylised ‘W’ on the door.
  10. November for the US, January for the rest of us. The Technic car and the minifigure scale car don’t appear to be the same vehicle, which is odd.
  11. Wasn’t expecting it but can’t complain. It’s a bit of a mixed bag. The bikes are weird but I’ll wait to see them on screen properly before casting them aside. Nice to see another Batsignal. The cowl feels really dated now, I’m not sure how they would have portrayed his new one but rehashing something that’s already overused isn’t it. I really like the Penguin, it’s a nice rendition of him. The car doesn’t look how I remember, and it looks like it can seat two up. The Batcave set is good, with a Batcomputer that can be added to the collection. I like all the figures in that one, including the messed up Riddler. On further inspection, I see the ‘Drifter’ persona hiding under the stairs. I’m guessing that the ubiquitous jail cell is on the other side. Also there are three of the Riddler’s coded messages. Very nice.
  12. If that is the actual silhouette and not a placeholder, then it’s not going to be Klarion unless they’ve lost the plot. All the other encyclopaedias have space for the accessories in the blister. If it is Guy, then the first thing I’m doing is getting that derpy Ron hairpiece off and giving him something more contemporary. It’s also ironic that they are adding to the GLC at a time when it’s utterly depleted in the comics. Additionally, this potentially means that we will see Guy and Klarion.
  13. Looking again at the blurb for this book, it also mentions “all-new 2021 Super-Villains”. Were we meant to get new characters, or is “all-new” just a euphemism for “versions of existing”? 60’s Joker isn’t all-new, and Scarecrow is a version of the character. Or is that a reference to The Batman, seeing as that would have been out by now? Incidentally this one will be longer than the one with Sinestro Batman but shorter than the one with Pirate Batman.
  14. You’re welcome, no problem
  15. Another character encyclopaedia, the pre-release blurb is out in the world and it mentions characters like Bronze Tiger and Klarion the Witch Boy.
  16. I’m in favour of this hair piece, but I’d rather see his original look as the suit and tie is a bit blah. Having said that I wouldn’t want the unnecessary blue version seen from Grant Morrison. Assuming that Teekl is part of the deal, a new cat print would be appreciated.
  17. I’ve got to say that including him with the book is a weird choice, properly out of left field. But if it’s a set it should by rights be Etrigan. Having said that any JLD character would be cool. I just wonder if they are finally dipping into the Young Justice roster.
  18. He first appeared in The Demon #7, Etrigan’s first run by Jack Kirby in the 1970s. He has a cat familiar called Teekl, and he’s been in several story events in minor roles. I’m genuinely surprised by his inclusion. I’m tempted to ask what the point of updating the character encyclopaedia is, given Lego’s hesitance to give us more. Either they keep it the same length and squeeze the content, or add another double page and spread everything out. Or they are actually going to do something wild like expand the theme and put out more figures.

  20. As I said above, I brought the subject up because it has been used in this argument before and I felt it appropriate to cover my bases. And likewise they don’t represent me because my disabilities are invisible. I’m cool with being called disabled. Saying I’m someone with disabilities suggests that they can be taken away, and they cannot. However I’m not going to police how others refer to me as long as they are being cordial. Not everyone is the same, as this thread recently proved. Anyway I’m bowing out of this as I initially felt it necessary to say that Lego’s stance on disabilities is not as forthright as it is on identity and expression, and it’s gone wildly off topic.
  21. I get you. If Strange and Wong don’t change costumes/looks between NWH and MoM, then that set is potentially pointless.
  22. Would you then argue that while having crossovers in the films makes for interesting stories, it blights the marketing and merchandising? All they’ve done is create a set for completists.
  23. I’m reading from this that you haven’t clicked that link. As someone with more than one invisible disability, I’m never going to be visually represented in minifigure form. I might not be a minority, but that hasn’t prevented me from experiencing discrimination, bullying or exclusion in my lifetime. Neither has my being white, straight and male. The D&I website is, at best, tokenistic towards disability, given that despite limited visual representation there is in fact no mention of disability. I’m not for one moment suggesting that certain pirates are a fair representation of disability (not that their capabilities on board ship are dismissible), but I’m covering the ground because I know that they have been used in the argument before. Are you saying that their malevolence negates their disability, that they don’t count because that would be stereotypical, or something else? They’ve been representative of me for over 30 years because what I have can’t be depicted in Lego form.
