  1. I’ve got all of them bar the odd Juniors one, the one from the 60’s Batcave, and the two Batfleckmobiles. I quite like seeing the evolution of them. A lot have been inspired by Keaton’s, that much is true. It’s a shame that the theme is in a slump, especially now that we have the Speed Champions chassis. A crew cab Keaton Batmobile would be a nice addition.
  2. I don’t know what Honey Boo Boo is, but the name is enough to put me off. That’s kind of what I was implying, that despite everything that’s going on with the lead actor in The Flash, the guy’s concern was about a different film. I can understand your skepticism about future Lego sets, but there are a good few films on the horizon, and any plan is better than the previous ones.
  3. I reckon it’ll be a combination of the two things, and people will get that Battinson is in his own universe but will be confused about why he’s in his own one and why the other two now coexist. Is there a multiverse or isn’t there? And allegedly the CEO felt that Aquaman 2 would be the dud. I would like a Keaton Batmobile as I wasn’t in a position to get the now overinflated GWP. Oh I know that the extremely mature themes of TSS torpedoed any chance of minifigures or sets, but I would still have loved to have them. I stand by my long ago previous comments about how Lego bypassed some of the darker corners of DC and made minifigures anyway. In my multiverse, Lego made tie-in sets based on a different Suicide Squad, I have King Shark, Peacemaker, Rick Flag, Ratcatcher 2, and a great big Starro.
  4. I thought he’d pretty much been wiped from everything bar The Flash, although whether it was his decision or Warner’s I don’t know. I’m just as intrigued by how long Batfleck is going to stick around for. If Flash and Aquaman go ahead as suggested, we will have had three Bats on our screens in a very short space of time. It takes a lot less than that to confuse casual fans and turn them off. Three different Batmen, and apparently cinema goers got confused about the name of The Suicide Squad and it’s predecessor. Still bittersweet about that. Lego could made some boss figs loosely tied in but didn’t, but at least my PDM is worth more now.
  5. False equivalence. I have no beef with how others identify, however the same thing comes around every time the subject is mentioned: just respect their choice/life/other. I’m not going to go into why I don’t blindly respect everyone on the planet, but I’m also not going to respect someone who doesn’t do that themselves. I’m not disrespecting every non binary person just because I feel Ezra Miller is an irredeemable tool shirking responsibility and jettisoning blame onto his poor mental health, nor because you say I am. My grievance is with him alone. He’s not giving any DC fans or HP fans any respect, so yes, I’m going to reciprocate that because he doesn’t deserve said respect. I’m going to cease on the subject because this is way off topic, despite the theme being dormant.
  6. Ezra Miller’s apology to the world avoided any actual accountability and instead blamed his mental health. Now he’s seeking help, only after he’s done a ton of appalling things. As someone who comes from a long line of neurodiverse people, many of whom have struggled with it, I can’t respect someone who treats it like an excuse to be an awful person.
  7. Quite a few reassurances coming out of the DC camp, post Batgirl. BB safe, as is anything to do with James Gunn. There is an actual plan, and it involves Dwayne Johnson in a producer role. Sounds like Discovery needed to steady the ship, and the best way to do that was jettison something. With any luck it will instill confidence in partners such as Lego, and we might eventually see sets that aren’t batcentric.
  8. Minifigure scale isn’t a fixed measurement though, is it? Look it up and it’s anywhere between 1:25 and 1:48, which is pretty broad. When City and Speed Champions for example field different sized cars, there’s no conformity. It’s a concept of something that a minifigure can fit into and exist in, and this train hits the brief. The point of it is a display piece anyway, if you want an engine with carriages then buy 75955. Some of the most significant moments in the story occur on the train, so it makes sense to make a Moments set based on them. The best way to convey those moments is evidently to make the vehicle bigger.
  9. Indeed, it would appear that this is the official line. However I've only stated my skepticism and not climbed a hill to die on, so don't worry. Incidentally it wouldn't have been pulled just to be a tax write off, other factors would have been taken into account first. What documents?
  10. There’s been a change of leadership, I’m guessing to someone who watched both of those and didn’t want another one.
  11. It’s not an intentional dog pile, but having watched TSS and put it squarely at #1 on my current favourite DC films list, and then anticipated and finally seen Peacemaker, I genuinely can’t fathom how you can place nihilism as the overarching theme. I would struggle to see it at all really. Now Rick and Morty, that IS about nihilism. It’s DC vs Marvel because it’s always been between them. They fought off or bought out the rest of the competition, and have had more staff jumping from one to the other ship than most other companies. That and the long line of crossovers.
  12. About three rumours for it came through along with WB dancing around the outside of it. Whatever it is makes DC as an IP to license as much of a liability as Ezra Miller. As @TheBatstansaid Peacemaker isn’t nihilistic, if anything it gives him purpose and hope to be a better person. Plus the soundtrack is amazing and the opening credits are worth watching just for the sake of it. Harley might be goofy but it’s doing what DC animated series do well and rolling out the characters that don’t get a regular airing. Doom Patrol is something else entirely. Hopefully not, but I wouldn’t blame him if he did.
  13. See I don’t think that one is true either. They also pulled Scoob 2, dropped a load of home brand films, announced a 70% drop in staffing levels and a step away from scripted content. Discovery+ are baking a cake and eggs are getting cracked. The sad part is those eggs include Peacemaker, Harley Quinn, and Doom Patrol. We’ve had confirmation of the first being renewed, seen a trailer for the second, and nothing new for the third. It looks like a hard reset with a few safe spots.
  14. Not BB! It would seem that there really was a plan with the brief Comic Con panel. Flash I can understand, Miller is a total liability and if Keaton isn’t going to be in Aquaman 2 or Batgirl, then the multiverse idea is on dodgy ground. Have you seen the latest that suggests it was canned as a tax dodge? I think that if Lego pulled the pin on DC right now, I would understand.
  15. Is it any wonder they threw their weight behind Shazam 2 and Black Adam at SDCC? At least those two haven’t got any controversial cast members or anything else that puts them on dodgy ground. Come on Lego, you don’t need to make film tie-in sets all the time, stick to comics based ones.
  16. That’s how we got Aquaman, Black Manta, and Ocean Master, through the ongoing ‘Batman meets… ‘ sets.
  17. What I mean is that with the existence of pieces that illustrate the larger ear, then the standard size ear must exist by proxy, even if we can’t see them or they aren’t illustrated. Incidentally there are several hair pieces that have shaping for ears, or have the hair tucked behind the ear. If minifigures don’t have ears, why are larger ears added on and what do they think of the animal costumes? It’s no different than the lack of nose; if they don’t have noses, what is the clown doing and what’s with the carrot on snowmen? Likewise toes and sandals/jika-tabi.
  18. There are 34 hair-with-ears pieces, including four previous recolours of the piece in that set, and 17 headgear pieces not including animal heads and costumes. I think it's safe to say minifigures do have ears, just not obvious ones.
  19. Those are two films that I would really like to see some love for, and really easy to conceive sets for too.
  20. At first I thought the Jake figure had a massive stain on his shirt, like he’d spilled greasy food down it and was cool with it. Turns out it’s the silhouette of a Samson rotorcopter. That’s the only thing that’s caught my attention so far, a stain that’s not a stain.
  21. In one episode the villain Dollmaker had a Vader doll in his workshop. It’s not written or confirmed anywhere, but that’s as big a wink as you’re going to get.
  22. Mana from heaven. If they did this with the pictured roster (or at least a decent chunk of it, got to have heroes to create that jeopardy), my list of demands would go quiet for a while.
  23. Hey, we’re optimistically discussing totally plausible if imaginary DC sets in the gaping absence of tangible ones. We’ve even covered the evils of convention exclusives. At the moment - at least to me - it beats recycling the hope of more and better sets than we are in all probability not getting. There’s only so much that can be gained from saying the same thing over and over, plus it’s more fun. In seriousness, the Snyderverse has deeply affected the rate of DC sets, be it the fan reactions and toxicity or the studio interference and knee jerk reaction to the success of Marvel. We had a good film in Aquaman and had a set and a tie-in set. Shazam had to be crowbarred into a set with absolutely no logical justification, and a posthumous polybag. At that point the writing was on the wall. The best years since the relaunch have been 2012, 2015, and 2018. By that trend we should have seen a good wave last year, but I can understand why that never happened. Maybe there is one on the horizon, but by the same token Marvel has had a far better yield in the same timeframe.
  24. Oh yeah, I needed reminding of that one. Perhaps I blotted it out because there’s one on BL for £1000. Oh man, it’s like the writers were trying to make it as bad taste as possible. https://comicsalliance.com/rise-of-arsenal-justice-league-worst/
  25. I'll have you know I've been fantasising about obscure and unlikely DC sets for a while now the trouble with ADHD is I can't always plan these things out for myself, otherwise I'd have MOCs and purist figs to show for it.
