  1. Consistent? The Lego Group? They also change their plans on a whim, or because their beautifully crafted theme that had countless hours and money ploughed into it turned out to be a poor seller. There have also been topics that polarize that have received no reaction other than to reinforce their choices.
  2. So what, Lego would rather admit that their incompetence lay with the failure to adhere to their own in-house ethics, and not their ability to confidently present a finished product? Frankly neither is a good look and I'm glad that choice wasn't my problem. This whole debacle is brilliant, because several people are adamant that it couldn't possibly be X or Y but can't come up with a logical reason why it would be Z, and all the while we'll most likely never find out the real answer because Lego has no obligation to tell anyone.
  3. Depends upon your use of the word fear, but well done for going for the immediate insult. The Technic Osprey was 11 days away from official release when they announced its cancellation after petitioning from the German Peace Society. Was it cancelled because at that same moment Lego coincidentally realised, in a palm-to-forehead eureka moment, that it went against their brand values, or for fear of repercussion? They set themselves a standard. They breached that standard. Someone pulled them up on it. They stopped before things got worse.
  4. Unless you have very specific insight into the situation, I would suggest that no one will know the truth outside of Lego. If the set is indeed cancelled then someone was responsible for that decision, and if it was because something about the set went against their brand values, then it was for fear of upsetting at least one person. So the offendee might not be aware of it, but they might have inadvertently had something cancelled in their behalf. If they don’t release it, they don’t have to release a press statement that says they almost/did put out a set that goes against their core values, again.
  5. Punk rocker, Cave woman, Crazy scientist. I suspect there are others.
  6. It's a vintage handbag made from the fur of something, which looking at the tails I'd guess at ermine/stoat.
  7. Jarro showed a new layer of Batman's character, and nuance to the starfish. Loved it.
  8. Sometimes the best stories are the most outlandish ones. There were some great moments in Dark Knights: Death Metal. Batmansaurus Rex, Castle Bat and Batmobeast were mental, but the the paths of Sgt Rock, Jonah Hex and Detective Chimp were really, really good. Another nuts one is DCesased, particularly Unkillables.
  9. It’s a robot dinosaur from Dinosaur Island, kept as a trophy. It’s also programmed to attack on command - most notably the Talons when they infiltrated the cave, and has been inhabited by a variant Batman’s psyche.
  10. Is this what the drought has been for? With that price it better have all of the hallmarks. I look forward to seeing more details.
  11. I find it intriguing that the actor who played Prime Minister Chattar Also described the controversial dining scene as a satirical jab at Western views on Indian food, and the actor who played Mola Ram called the whole controversy silly as the film was clearly a fantasy. I also find it intriguing that a company like Lego can let a product get this far before concluding that it breaches their own guidelines, whilst simultaneously letting at least one other breach in the same theme slide.
  12. Why would any of it get landfilled? Non specific parts can be instantly recycled into other sets and specific parts, instructions, boxes and anything else can be actually recycled.
  13. Wow. I’m pleased that we’re getting a set, it’s about time, but with that price I kinda hope that I don’t want it. That’s a lot to blow in one hit.
  14. My 5 year old daughter loves the show and had the house for Christmas. The premise of the toys is that you get a sparsely decorated house and buy the various cats and their rooms separately, in a sort of modular arrangement. The house is cat-shaped, greenish (closest colour I can think of is dark turquoise) with a pink roof and different colour ears/windows. The cats are pretty far out in their designs, so I’d be surprised to see them as regular cat moulds with individual printing, I would have thought that they would be new moulds and/or brick built. The set with the name Lakotek is called Cakey in English. Certainly an interesting choice of theme.
  15. If the Lego gods are feeling particularly benevolent, I would very much like this set to get past the preliminary stage. Even with the watermarks it looks to capture the aesthetic really well.
  16. And where can I buy this reverse underwear from Armani? Asking for a friend obviously.
  17. Maybe he is. Who are we to judge?
  18. If ever there was a Lego friendly character, Midnighter is there front and centre. We can't expect Lego friendly sets from the off, that wouldn't have been Gunn or Safran's key points for getting the story told. However we've got some good building blocks here.
  19. Man I’m stoked for the liineup, and would love to see the Commandos in Lego. And any of it, really. Come on Lego, get cracking!
  20. Very nice! Some cool ideas here in the cross-promotional theme What If… Lego Made DC Sets Again? line. I like the idea of bringing Grid, Rayner and Doomsday to the fore. Well done, and worth the effort certainly.
  21. I think that you are allowed to lose interest in a franchise that is due to be reset. If everything had to be a single entity to be consumed on its own merits only there wouldn’t be DC and MCU franchises to get excited about.
  22. Having seen that hasn’t improved my lack of interest in this film. Whoever conceived that needs to be taken aside and given a big slap. Miller isn’t right for the Flash, and certainly doesn’t deserve three roles in one film given the circumstances.
  23. Sorry that was me, I meant cinema and theatre. Doesn't make it any less of a medium though. Mate, we all got Scrooge'd.
