  1. I like this new line. Not all the sets, but about the half of them. My favorites are the sets with the Velociraptor, the one with the triceratops and the headquarters. I like the new dinosaurs (exept for the red ? T-Rex) and think they are much better than the ones of Dino 2010. Also I like the vehicles of the Raptor and triceratops sets. So I think I like the $30, $50 and $100 sets the most. I wonder if I can afford to buy any of these larger sets. I think the lamest sets are the two for $10 and $20 price point, which is really sad. This whole new line has an interesting design. The color scheme and stickers of the vehicles and aircraft remind me of the Exoforce Assault Tiger. They look good. I would bet that some of the Alien Conquest designers were involved here too. Some of the vehicles have a very similar building style and design. I think there is some kind of retro style in these vehicles too.
  2. Just wait until you see my bigger sets. Thanks very much for your feedback, -zenn. And thanks for your advices about taking and correcting pics. I don't have a good equipment like a lightbox and better lamps. So it's hard for me to make so good pics, as most of you guys do. But I'll try to do better next time.
  3. Thanks very much, Artanis I. Now I understand.
  4. Thanks for your feedback. What does "greeply" mean? Me and my dictonary don't know this word. I'm not very satisfied with those pics. I should try it again in bright daylight. This colour scheme may not be the easiest to make pics of, but trust me it looks real cool and evil in person, matching the Blacktron Space Villain from minifigs series 3.
  5. Hi folks! Right now I'm in the process of building my own Neo Blacktron Series. First I'd like to show you my alienator version, which is an updated and modernized version of the classic Blacktron set, which is one of my alltime favorits. I loved the fact that he was one of the first walkers. I hope you like it. Please leave some feedback and critisicm. Next one of my Neo Blacktron soon, when I have pictures of it.
  6. I like it. Esspecially how you build the legs. Its a simple but harmonic design. I only miss a tiny little bid of color. Maybe some red or blue tiny stripes at the sides of the head? All the rest is really nice.
  7. I just wanted to say the same. I love your Neo Blacktron Creation and your minifig too. It's a small creation, but I love the style of it. It's funny, I'm thinking about creating some Neo Blacktron stuff myself, just thought about yesterday which color scheme to use and how the minifig should look. Now I see your Hoverboard plus minifigure and see you've made the same decission that I did. Even to the smallest detail like the neon green visor instead of the yellow one. I bounch of people here really should stick together and make a Neo Blacktron line of our own.
  8. I grew up with the classic space toys. I think my parents started buying some of the first lego space toys for me in 1979. From this time to about 1988 I collected most of the Space sets lego released. But, to be honest, when I got older I thought most of the "Explorian Space Sets" were pretty boring. Most other toy lines like Star Wars and Masters of the universe had two factions fighting eachother. So I thought those early space sets were a little boring, with all those smiling, colorful, peaceful space explorians. When Space Police I and Blacktron I were released, those were the best space sets for me and are still today. The color schemes and minifigs were beautiful and the story around the cool blacktron space pirates gave me a lot of ideas what storys to play with them. I was very disapointed when I found out that the beautiful Space Police III toyline would be cancelled, without a return of blacktron. But I think Alien Conquest isn't a bad line. Pros: - Two fractions with Invaders and Protectors of earth had a lot of play value for kids. - I really like those ADU figs. Just like the Space Police III figures, they simply look damn cool. - Those alien ships and aliens all have classic sci-fi-looks. They look like action, but cute, retro and kid friendly at the same time. - I think Alien Conquest is a fresh idea and a welcomed exception to the rule. Story, design and colors are a new chapter in the lego book, instead of just repeating the old stuff over and over again. Cons: - I simply don't like those color schemes. Blue and yellow on the ADU stuff isn't a good mix. It makes the sets more colorful and kid friendly than the Space Police III line did. I think SPIII apealed to more mature collectors and kids at the same time, while Alien Conquest seems to appeal more to kids. So I think Alien Conquest is a nicely done and fresh line and I would prefer it over the mars mission line. It's not exactly a Space line, but I think it is fun and a nice idea for a new line. My biggest problem with it is, that I think it came much to early. I would have prefered to see (lets say 2 more years) with Space Police III and a revival of Blacktron as their enemys.
  9. I have this feeling, Lego tries to satisfy these two groups of customers: - kids, who still buy most of all lego sets, from city to star wars. - adult collectors, that are interested in building technical stuff - and are buying mainly Lego technic. I see a third group of collectors that doesn't get much attention from Lego: Adult collectors who are not in technic stuff and collect toys from their childhood out of nostalgic reasons. These group of fans are in large number in other fandoms like Star Wars, Star Trek, GI Joe or Masters of the universe. Companys like Hasbro and Mattel found ways to earn a lot of money by producing toys for those nostalgic collectors. But Lego doesn't care much about them. I wonder why? Maybe there simply aren't enough collectors who would buy Blacktron, Ice Planet or other classic space products?
  10. I'm happy that Blacktron is a clear No.1 at this poll. Great! But at the same time I wonder why Robo Force has receives so little votes. I liked this line. Esspecially the robo raptor. If Lego would revive this line, I imagine it could be really cool. Cool dinosaur-like Mechs with blasters and some military style figures. I think this could be fabulous.
  11. This mini figure and a lot of cool fan MOCs have proven how cool a blacktron revival could look like.
  12. When I was a kid, I started with the first Classic Space Sets of the 80s. I like and had a lot of the 80s and 90s space sets, but in my opinion there were only two lines that were the coolest of them all. Space Police II and Blacktron I. I liked the color combinations of those lines and esspecially the mini figures. I've always liked the bad guys more than the good guys, doesn't matter if it was the 80s star wars, masters of the universe or Lego lines. Black with a little yellow is simply a damn cool looking color combination. And the Blacktron minifigures are some of the coolest, if not the coolest minifigures Lego has ever done. My wish for the future is simple. Please Lego, bring Blacktron back.
  13. I visit the Frontpage of Eurobricks everyday to read the news, but I only knew about the new superheros line. If there is news about a Dino 2012 and even a LotR line, why don't they put that on the front page? Now I have to search the whole forum. @Topic: I would love to see some real space or even new blacktron sets. I'm not the biggest fan of Alien conquest and was very disapointed when I learned they would would stop the Space Police III line, without bringing blacktron back. The Rench figure seemed to be a good first sign of this idea.
  14. I can't find any error, Flare - I'm sorry. The links work for me, the picture album is public. Is there anyone else who can't see the pictures?
  15. Of course. http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j15/Rattlor/Colonial%20Marines%20project/SaleVersion.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j15/Rattlor/Colonial%20Marines%20project/Saleversionback.jpg
  16. I've made a small amount of 5 generic troopers for sale. If anyone of you is interested, I've made a thread to offer them. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58464
  17. Hi! I did a small series of colonial marines from the second aliens movie. I did a run of all the prominent characters like Hicks, Hudson, Apone etc. for myself. Now I'd like to offer some of the spare figures to you. These figures are generic colonial marines, with a standart face and no personal markings on their armor. This is what you get: - each figure is hand painted and comes with: - removable helmet with neck flap on the back - removable body armor - shoulder lamp at the back with a light spot, that glows in the dark - painted pulse rifle I offer these for 13,95 Euro per figure. Also available now: Smartgunner "Vasquez": - hand painted and hand made - removable body armor with shoulder lamp - custom made Smartgun - removable head wear 1 got 1 Vasquez available for 15,95 Euro Please keep in mind, that these figures are not mass produced parts. They are not as accurate and clean as mass produced, new lego parts - so please no nitpickers. The custom made pieces are made out of resin. They are durable and a little flexible, so don't be afraid that they could break easily. If you are interested, please send me a PM. I will ship internationally to people who love the colonial marines as much as I do.
  18. I love the Liberty statue. It's simply a real good idea for a minifig. I think the choise of sandgreen for her is perfect. The pink space lady, the scater girl, the highlander and the alien also belong to my favorites. It seems this will become a really great wave. I was so disapointed when I first saw pics of series 5. I'm glad this series looks a lot less boring than the privious one.
  19. Okay guys, latest update. I have 14 of these guys now. Painted, with shoulder lamps and weapons. What's left to do is finishing all 20 and then personalizing them. The only one almost finished is Apone on the right.
  20. Don't take a to close look at the pulse rifle details, Paladin Hicks. I few days after I painted about 20 of them, I realized that the red counter display is on the wrong side of the gun. That means correcting all of them... When I took a look at my private hudson yesterday, I asked myself: How far should I play this game of painting details on his chest armor and helmet? I sculpeted some helmets with a cover (you can see it on the latest picture, second marine from the right) As far as I can tell, Hudson, Frost and Dietrich had covers on their helmets. Thats okay to do with the lego figure. But when I take a close look at the orignal armor of Hudson, all those smallest details. The calendar at the top of his helmet, the eight ball on the back. "Contents under Pressure", "Louise" etc. I'ts almost impossible to paint this on the small lego custom. I really should stick to the motto of keeping it simple.
  21. Thanks very much for your feedback, guys. I'm wating for a bricklink order for the figure parts and I think in about a week I can post some pictures of the final figures.
  22. Thanks for your interest. Right now I'm in the process of making chest armors. Also I've made a shoulder lamp and the mentioned neck protector. I don't need much more time. I only need some basic figure parts from bricklink and then I can assemble and paint everything. @Paladin Hicks: Thanks very much! It's great to see, there are some people out there who love the Colonial marines as much as I do. Maybe I can help you when this wave of figures is complete. Right now I'm building about 20 colonial marines and if they turn out to be okay, I might make the half of them available. Thats why I've made molds for every part.
  23. Beautiful figures. I esspecially love the soldiers. Where did you buy the vests?
  24. Thanks very much for your comments. I'm very exited about this custom project and your feedback gives me a good feeling, that I'm going in the right direction with them. Sure! I agree with you. This face really reminds me of Hudson, who always was my favorite marine. To be honest, I don't think every creative decision of TLG has been a clever one in the past. I would prefer a dark skinned Apone and Frost. Do you know in which Lego Line these two heads have been released? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpb212 and http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=91&itemID=48740 I like them, but it seems the one with beard is almost impossible to find in my country. I know what you mean. My intension was from beginning to avoid overloading the figures with smallest details. But I'm not sure if I can keep this balance. Right now I'm thinking about a shoulder lamp for the marines and I'm not sure if I can resist painting all those tiny details like the names and logos on their armors.
  25. Okay, time for a quick and dirty update. It's still work in progress. I've made casting molds for the front and backside of the armor and for the neck protector. The molds work fine. I've painted the first, newly made armor parts, just to see how they would look like. Please excuse the bad picture quality. The pics of the next update will be better.
