  1. it fits but doesnt stay in Funnily enough, in 2011 I was the first person to think of using just the outside hub so I had no choice but to break the inner hub in order to remove it then again for another one so I had 2 for the front wheels. I then put the subpart on bricklink after admin approval. I wanted to put 3L UV joints in it, which worked but the whole thing was very flimsy. Now, technic has evolved much more thankfully.
  2. OK here is what I mean: I kinda was able to replicate the new parts using shock 6L absorber ends with a few caveats:
  3. I think the diagonal thing will be too bendy to make much difference... also diagonals waste a lot of space but Yeah, I meant that I will use it like a 2L pin with pinhole (but with axle at least 1 axle hole Here is why this 3L axle part will be awesome: normally to attach a mini turn table to a 5x7 frame you use 2 3L axles going thru the turn tables 2 pinholes and then you use purpendicular axle connectors along with 4 vertical 3L axles to clamp it all in place , but you dont have any room for other stuff so bummer. With this part you still have 1L of free axle space on either side of the turntables pinhole, how AMAZING IS THAT¡¿!?¡¿!?¡¿!?¡¿!!
  4. the pinhole with axle 3 will be a game changer, 2L friction pin with bar hole would have been better but oh well
  5. 42145 would be certainly possible but a bit of a challenge (but possible)
  6. you need another differential for example a 4L diff, where the manual knob drives the yellow axle going into the diff, the motorized axle is going to either the 24 or 16 tooth gears on the diff case, and the black output axle is going to be going into the other side of the diff. The cool thing is that the motor OR the manual knob can drive the output but not both at once, but the motor cant spin the manual knob and the manual knob cant spin the motor. The output of this "tristate buffer" as I like to call it is going to go to the input of your multiplexer.
  7. I got 2 of 3803 recently and they are one of the most impressive parts ive seen in a while, only downside is that 2L axle pins dont fit over the bars all the way which makes them "out of system" however, system pieces, axle holes, and pin bar holes fit over the 4 bars just fine while staying in system and the pinhole is just awesome for making custom connectors
  8. tested and working, very clever, thanks! EDIT: oh wait, there is too much play inbetween the groove in the clutch ring and the ice skate piece
  9. dang I just got the minifig microphones and unfortunatley they fit fine with the blue selector, infact its very smooth But they are slightly too long to fit inside of the semi-hollow stud of the plate with bar on underside (short stem version) Soo idk what to do now...
  10. I think I burnt my F1 car🙄 Larger phtos here WIP photos here Now to put some disc brake wheel hubs on, which requires using the 42110/42125 wheels to counteract the 1L extra width that the disc brakes add However this does mean that the wheel hub caps stick out further...oh well. I also bought some black minifig microphones so I might be able to replace the LBG axle-ball joints with those, if not then I would need to use the belville microphones, which fit into a ball joint just fine I could also make it look better by using: Black 12 tooth tan gears Black 8 tooth gears (the old, non reinforced version) Black 3L axle with stud( but the DBG ones i used are not visible anyhow Black half bushes instead of black 2L thin beams More 5.5 black axles (I only had 3 or 5) More black 7L axles (I only had 3) but those are bloody expensive But I would have to do a bricklink parts order and I've already spent a lot on lego so.. Hope yall like it!
  11. Oh I have too many WIPs: 1:6 supercar: Ultimate 42110 mod (with swappable white or yellow body, and swappable tan or blue trim) This was my old 3 door chassis which is now just a parts donor: (it was a combination of the "pimp my 42110", gamayuns v5 42110 mod, and my own mods) Here is the current version of my 42110, it now has 5 doors as per the white bodywork , the project is on hold until the 42177 mercadees 4x4 comes out, but it was a combination of gamayuns v6 42110, the pimp my 42110, and my own mods Next up is my modded version of set 42180, I wanted to add diffs, suspension, and steering on all axles as well as have the vehicle elonation Next up is my ultimate 42131: And lastly, here's my modded 42171 (i'm modding it as a build it): Regards, Snipe
  12. But remember that some racers set had almost no technic parts. So its a little weird indeed but no different to say, lego city in some ways
  13. uh I meant 2 shocks per wheel , like on the 42110
  14. Huh? the set is not released or leaked yet
  15. I would say that it should have fully independent suspension with 2 extra hard shocks per wheel because having something like a pendulum axle or a live axle uses up way more space, and this model will probably be jam packed with mechanisms/structures. Yeah, I can't wait until someone motirizes this set *cough cough* @gamayun since his land rover v6 is awesome, this could be even better since we now have more connectors and flip flop beams. Portal hubs wouldnt fit in rims such as 49294 (IIRC) unless you use a spacer but then the scrub radius and the pivot offset would be very weird so maybe it will just use audi or planetary hubs (3468c01) but i really hope it has fake disc brakes too, maybe they can somehow fit a new disc brake part over the planetary hubs/ 3468c01 hubs without having to redesign a new inner half which cant be removed anyhow.
  16. The supercar is a different set that will also be released this year, (it's a McLaren), this is a secondary set and its quite bit too! :)
  17. So, we now know that the next 4x4 set will be the 42177 MercDees G500 4X4 Releasing August 1st for $250 and the set contains 2891 pieces. This thread is probably going to be quite long so I didnt append it to the '2024 technic set disgussion thread' Here are my speculations as to what it will have: A 4 speed gearbox using the new gearbox parts from set 42159 A fake V8 engine using the new parts from set 42170 Differentials from set 42143 (because its 4x4 :P) Maybe a center differental Working steering with HOG Working suspension Portal hubs or planetary hubs (the real car has portal gear axles) Maybe a winch. maybe not. -----Even better would be:----- 7 speed gearbox, 3 lockable differentials Adjustable ride height Flappy paddle gearbox Fake disc brakes I think the color will be black or neon yellow but it is unconfirmed so far. Go nuts! (And it looks like 2h 2024 will be good!)
  18. Ohh, the surface space loader has 1 , I see now :), well, this set is certainly better than 42180 at least. could you do me a favor if possible, and show the 42145 set but with the dune orthcopter blades attached ? I really wanna see that (!badly!). regards, Snipe
  19. I built a replica of this set ysing the only speedbuild on youtuve at the time, this was on on the 29/2/2024 I didnt add much of the system stuff because I cba and theres too much stuff that isnt functional. But i'll add diffs, steering and suspension on all axles as well as put worm gears on the mechanism which shortens/lenthens the entire vehicle. But then I'm done because im not a fan of this set.
  20. I hope it has a proper mechanical hardtop. Please lego: Don't cock it up.
  21. Yes, I Wonder if anyone has those new blades as well as this set built so we can test it out. (I opted not to buy the dune orthocopter)
  22. I' checked the set inventory on rebrickable and on lego instructions, and this "new small beam" is no where to be seen, but in the press release video he said that the space ship has a new small beam that wehave to find ourselves... There isn't even the new connector that comes in the john deere combine harvester This is the stupidest bunch of 1H sets I have ever seen!! and here is the bar:
