There's also a rumoured Ninjago spin-off coming out in late 2025. It was reported by a reliable leaker yesterday. It's supposed to introduce new characters, but they don't know what kind of a project it is (possibly a video game).

I'm not that surprised by the live-action Ninjago movie. I'm glad they got the writers from the actual series. What I am curious about is how they'll handle the merchandise. Since it's a LEGO movie, basically only LEGO themselves will handle the toys. But they obviously can't make LEGO sets for it, since it's live-action... unless they will? With regular skin tones etc. Such a weird situation. Can't wait to see how it develops.

I really like this set. The word "Village" in the set name set up pretty different expectations, but I actually enjoy it for what it is—which is another mid-ranged location set focusing mostly on minifigures. Which, obviously, are incredible. The amount and exclusivity is amazing, just as in this year's Tournament Battle Arena. Nya and Zane are always great to see (which suits are they wearing though?; the one Lloyd wears in both dragon sets are visibly different variants), two Dragonians make sense, but it's the remaining two that are the standouts. Morro looks fantastic, and I'm excited to see how he fits into the new season. Hard to say who the last minifigure is—Jay or a Forbidden Five member. My money's on the former. It'd just be too big of a coincidence for one member to use the same colour scheme and weapons as Jay, not to mention the lightning element and the yellow head. Anyway, exactly half of the 1HY sets have leaked as of now. I'm most excited to see Zane's mech now, especially to see if we're getting a new Wyldfyre variant.

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
THELEGOBATMAN replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
From what I can tell, this set looks really bad. The build is an awful, clunky mess. It's also obviously overpriced. Hard to say anything about the minifigures at this point (Red Hulk looks like Red Hulk though). Also, and I can't emphasise this enough, I absolutely hate how the merchandise move for the first movie of the new, black Captain America is to... cover his face? -
Climber Jay is coming in the next Ninjago magazine (the one after Climber Nya). That actually completes the Climber suits in the magazine, each OG Ninja got one. Can't remember the last time that's happened. Hopefully, now they'll move onto the Tournament.

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
THELEGOBATMAN replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
What a terrible mentality to have. Consumerism at its worst. "You have to like everything. You can't criticsise anything. Otherwise, change your hobby." Just because you have low standards and won't complain about missing basic quality features in a 300€+ collectors' set, doesn't mean others should too. We know LEGO is capable of doing it, and acting like they aren't and just accepting worse versions of the product is not a solution. Same goes for the prices. Just because you may be happy to pay 200€ for measly 1327 pieces, absolutely does not mean others have to be happy with that deal. If people just blindly accepted anything a company served them, we'd end up in an awful reality business-wise. Criticising is a natural part of hobbies and human life. Just because we love something doesn't mean we have to accept and like every single aspect of it—it's unhealthy. -

No, I'm saying that leg printing, dual-moulding, arm printing etc. are crucial to a lot of character designs—yet we don't always get it. I was replying to you saying that Spot needs leg printing for his design. Well, a lot of characters do, but LEGO still usually chooses the cheap option of not doing that. (Also, Miles was a bad example—confused arm printing with side leg printing, which wouldn't look good.) -

One could argue then that arm printing is necessary for Miles' design, but you don't see him getting it. -

Which makes it all the more surprising when characters like the Spot or Lex Luthor get ones. You think they'd be easy to skip, but for some reason they managed to give it to them. -

Still, it'd open the doors to us getting more LotR sets. The D2Cs are amazing, but not everyone needs or wants huge sets that are bigger than a human body. -

Now there's one question left—is the Spider-Verse set a one-off, or will we be getting more? If so, I'll go bankrupt. Especially when the last movie comes out, should we be expecting a full wave now? Can't wait to find out. -

It would be insane if we'd end up getting at least two sets, because that would mean one of them isn't a 300€+ D2C. -

Finally seeing a Spider-Verse after all these years feels so surreal. Seeing Jefferson and his car is such a nice surprise, really makes this set much better—and his face print is spot-on (pun intended). Spot looks fantastic, Gwen looks like Gwen, Miles could use arm printing (and I have not idea why Spider-Verse toys insist on giving him very visible blue torso details). The builds, from what I can tell, look really nice and will make for a good display piece / playset. -

Three more sets have leaked—the Spider-Verse set, Venom's car, and Iron Man's car. The Spider-Verse set includes Miles, Gwen, Jefferson Davis, and the Spot with a bodega and a PDNY car. The Spider-Man set includes Peter, Anya Corazón, and Venom with Venom's car and a bank safe. The Iron Man set includes Iron Man, Black Panther, and Red-Hulk (minifig) with Iron Man's car and Black Panther's jet. -

This is actually insane, the amount of work put into this is admirable. Makes me even sadder that for the past years all we've been getting are two Batmobiles per year, and basically nothing more. You've managed to show the full potential of DC in LEGO, and you've barely used the most popular characters at all! Simply amazing. I also absolutely love the wedding that takes place in the LEGO DC Aslume Universe. (My love Dedra is there too. ) -

The thing with the mechs is, they'd be inherently more cool if they were for the villains, not the heroes. Think about it—Lex Luthor uses a Kryptonite mech to fight Superman. Anti-Venom gets enlarged due to the Symbiote. Ultron builds a mech to fight Stark more easily. But right now we have mechs for heroes who have no business having ones (except for Iron Man, but an Ultron one would be so much cooler). Unfortunately, LEGO doesn't do direct adaptations of comic books as sets. I've just started getting into the Ultimate Universe (and well, comics as a whole), and it'd be so cool. (Especially the X-Men Armor design, I love it so much.) -
I honestly like Fant4stic more. Or maybe like is a strong word—I don't like it as a movie, except for maybe the first act, which was much better than I remembered. I love it as a concept though. I really feel like Trank actually had a cool idea—focusing on body horror (which we can see glimpses of in some scenes). Then the studio came in and meddled with the movie until it was unrecognisable. I don't think it had any potential for a successful start of an all-new F4 movie series, but as a one-off? It would've/could've been so good. Green Lantern, on the other hand, is extremely bland and completely forgettable. Which, in my opinion, is the worst thing a movie can be.

It seems so weird that we got such a peak DC set only a few years ago. It had a lot of really niche characters that aren't popular with casual buyers, especially kids. Probably didn't sell well, but I am so happy we got it. Proudly displaying it on the wall, in a beautiful frame. Hopefully we get something even slightly as unique as this in the coming years.
