Let's just hope we actually get the Bat-Family (I need a new Nightwing). If it's just Batman and reused villains then we've truly lost. At least we're getting a D2C that's not another Batvehicle. So already a huge win. I just hope it's on the level of the Marvel modulars, but hopefully more like the previous one than the X-Mansion (in terms of price and the number of minifigures). It's a set that you should be able to fill with villains, and hopefully some more obscure ones too (this is our chance to get Pyg, Zsasz, and Mad Hatter).

If the leak proves to be accurate, then I truly have no words. 2025 is supposed be the beginning of the renaissance of DC, starting with a Superman movie... and all LEGO would do is a three-set wave in January? Plus a D2C? If we don't get a single set for Superman I am so done with this. I mean it, this will truly break me. Just the idea of getting a set for Gunn's Superman was the highlight of my thoughts about 2025 LEGO sets. We're getting more Andor, How to Train Your Dragon, Lilo & Stitch, Spider-Verse, Fantastic Four, and amazing Ninjago sets, all of which are some of my favourite projects, and somehow Superman was still the one I was anticipating the most.

LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I've never read anything from the EU. What I just described was literally George's story for the Original Trilogy. The whole third movie is about Luke winning with the Emperor because he's attached to his friends and his father with the power of friendship and forgiveness. I don't want to tell people how to interpret movies, but I don't think you really understand the meaning of Anakin's and Jedi Order's relationship in the Prequels. He didn't get corrupted because of his attachement to Padmé—he got corrupted because the Jedi Order told him to suppress those emotions and attachments, leading to him blowing up like a growing time-bomb. I've no idea how you got the impression that the point of those movies is that the Jedi were right, and you shouldn't be attached to others or you'll become a Sith Lord. The whole philosophy of the Order was wrong in its core, and that's what the Original Trilogy (retroactively) builds upon. Luke gets stronger because of his attachments and emotions, not weaker. -

In terms of Luke's arc and talking about the "Jedi code," I think people forget that thr whole point of the Prequels and The Last Jedi is that the Order was flawed in its core, destined to fall. The whole point of all those movies is how "values" (derogatory) such as "no emotions," "No attachments," and "no passion" aren't actually values, but the things that led to the fall of the Jedi Order. Suppressing them doesn't lead to a higher form of existence, it only makes you weaker and hurting in the long-term. Hell, the only reason Luke wins in the Original Trilogy is because he has emotions, because he has attachments, and because he has passion. Do people watch those movies with their eyes closed and ears covered? -

If it has 131 pages and starts like this... EXT. SPACE A rich tapestry of stars, reaching beyond all we know. Two sharp points of a space station enclose the sides of the frame as we drift backwards into the glowing rectangular entrance of a DOCKING BAY. ...then yeah, it's real. I've had it saved for quite some time (I love collecting and reading unrealised scripts). -

Since we're all doing rankings, I don't see why I shouldn't do one (or two). But beware, dear nerds—controversial opinions ahead... (!): 1. The Last Jedi 2. Return of the Jedi 3. A New Hope 4. Rogue One 5. Empire Strikes Back 6. The Force Awakens 7. Revenge of the Sith 8. Solo 9. The Phantom Menace 10. The Rise of Skywalker 11. Attack of the Clones 1. Andor 2. Visions 3. The Clone Wars 4. The Acolyte 5. The Mandalorian 6. Tales of the Jedi 7. The Book of Boba Fett 8. Obi-Wan Kenobi I won't elaborate on most of those in this post, since it'd take at least a few more paragraphs. Although I have to say that Andor is my favourite series of all time (along with Ted Lasso), and The Last Jedi is easily my favourite movie out of those (none of them come close for me). Oh, and I haven't seen all the other series. -

Right? I know it might sound unappealing to some, but I'd love to get it just on the basis of how different it'd be from all the other Star Wars sets. And I agree about the Stormtrooper, although I included them just because LEGO loves to do so. I mean... wasn't the rule of two completely irrelevant to begin with? It feels like every single Sith always has their own secret trainee. And I don't feel him living in secret is any more of a retcon than Maul still being alive while Palpatine was fooling around with Dooku and Anakin. Joke's on you Mr. BrickBob, two people have already noticed this set and commented that it actually sounds really cool. (But in all seriousness, I don't think a set with a super cool, luxurious aircraft and an easter-eggy artifact display shop wouldn't catch anyone's eye. Only if for how different it was from other Star Wars sets. ) -

Not really, no. I'm obviously not using the word "iconic" in the same context as Darth Vader or a Stormtrooper. But it's the most iconic moment in the most well-received Star Wars project since... I don't know, the Original Trilogy? The amount of times I've seen people discussing Kino Loy and the Narkina 5 arc on Twitter, Reddit etc. is unprecedented. Even two days ago another Tweet with lots of likes popped up on my timeline. It's incredible, because people have already forgotten about Kenobi, Ahsoka, Boba Fett, and even most of the Mandalorian, but to this day they talk about Andor simply because of how good it is. It's not one or the other. Either we get the helmet, or we wouldn't get anything else. Another set wouldn't just pop up in its place. I do hope they continue the dioramas though. Easily my favourite LEGO Star Wars line. The Throne Room one might be my favourite LEGO Star Wars sets actually (kind of biased since it's also my favourite Star Wars scene in general, but whatever). I'm crying inside right now. These sound so good to me, I'd buy every single one of those in a heartbeat, but I know we'll never get them. Then again, this is why the Andor sets are so special to me—just one per season (so... two in total). -

It's certainly a controversial script, but I'll take something uniquely bad over generically bad any day. It's obvious it could've been another The Last Jedi case of controversy, so Disney shut the script down and called in good old Mr. Generic Fan-appeasing Star Wars Movie-maker. Also, Plagueis is never retconned, and Hux doesn't say anything like that (although the line is present in the script, but as a note, not dialogue—screenwriters do this, especially in drafts, simply to amuse themselves). -

At last, after all these years, we are finally getting Kylo Ren's helmet as a set. In May, 75415 (along with his midi-scale shuttle, 75406). Hopefully this means LEGO is more open to making more Sequel Trilogy set, I've become terribly tired of the constant Clone Wars and The Mandalorian content. -

That's true, but LEGO is known for scraping the bottom of every barrel when making Star Wars sets. So, to give you an idea (besides Luthen's Fondor, which looks incredible and is the obvious option): • Mon Mothma's limousine combined with Luthen's artifact gallery; includes Mon Mothma, Luthen Rael, Klera Marki, and Vel Sartha (I know it doesn't sound super exciting, but I think it'd be a really unique set with key Rebellion figures) • TIE Fighter; includes Vel Sartha, Cinta Kaz, Taramyn Barcona, and a TIE Fighter Pilot (we haven't had one of those for a while) • Aldhani Rono frighter; includes Cassian Andor, Karis Nemik, Arvel Skeen, Gorn, and Jayhold Beehaz (this could make for a really cool set actually, especially with the minifigures) • Narkina 5 console room; includes Cassian Andor, Kino Loy, and two Console Guards (again, I know this doesn't sound exciting, but the Narkina 5 outfits are very desirable, and we've gotten way more niche sets in the past) • Imperial repulsocraft from Ferrix; includes Brasso, B2EMO, Vanis Tigo, and a Stormtrooper (generic Imperial vehicle, LEGO loves those) • Ferrix riot breakout with an Imperial prison cell and a Ferrix structure; includes Cassian Andor, Bix Caleen, Dedra Meero, and a Death Trooper (I feel like Ferrix is cool enough to warrant a location set, the minifigures would also be desirable) So yeah, I might be stretching it a bit, but I think all of those would make pretty awesome, unique sets. Mothma's limousine would be really unique in contrast with all the other sets on the shelves, while Narkina 5 set would give people a very iconic outfit and character. I've deisgned the Aldhani heist sets in a way that they complete each other—a vehicle for both the Rebels and the Empire, and it includes all main Rebels from Aldhani spread across two sets. I've done the same with the Ferrix riot sets, where you can get a lot of key characters, but this time combining a location and a vehicle. Unfortunately, LEGO will probably never do any of those. Why make Andor sets when you can do another Clone Battle Pack or a Mandalorian speeder, eh? -

The fact that people were analysing it frame by frame to find any mistakes just shows how well done it was overall, because they couldn't find anything else to complain about. A *second* Andor set? If it's true, I'm going absolutely bankrupt this year. -

I don't know why we're talking about The Last Jedi, but since we are I'll just say that (in my opinion) it's not just the best movie from the Sequel Trilogy, but one of the best Star Wars movie period—rivaled only by the Original Trilogy. It's so amazing that this is the movie that broke popculture discussion, and to this day we can feel its repercussions—especially in the context of Star Wars itself, where the executives are quaking in their boots, unable to take any kind of risk or produce another movie (except for a glorified Disney+ episode). -
How to Train Your Dragon - 2025 Rumors & Updates
THELEGOBATMAN replied to karrit's topic in LEGO Licensed
You're right, I did forget some of those—Wicked and Wednesday. The first one has three regular sets (at 30–100€), with another one at 55€ for buildable figures. Basically follows the same pattern of the Despicable Me 4 wave. Wednesday only has two sets, probably because it doesn't have much set potential, so I don't think it's as relevant. Fortnite I skipped because it's irrelevant. It focuses on buildable figures, with only one regular set, so I don't think it's useful to compare to. Zelda, on the other hand, has only one adult-oriented set. So again, not that useful. But the thing is, I think LEGO might realise that How to Train Your Dragon has more potential than any of those themes. Sure, the first movie might not warrant more than eight sets as I've shown, but when you go onto the next ones? That's years and years of waves guaranteed. Then again, they could also take the upcoming movie approach, like they did with Wicked and Despicable Me 4—so two sets at 20–50€, a buildable figure at 60€, and a bigger 100€ set. Well, only time will tell. -
How to Train Your Dragon - 2025 Rumors & Updates
THELEGOBATMAN replied to karrit's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, exactly. I feel like LEGO usually avoids making big sets when introducing new themes, but there are exceptions. For example, they first Avatar wave had four sets, proved between 45€ and 150€. No idea how well those sold, but it was still surprising seeing 100€ and 150€ set in such a small wave (but to be fair, I feel like those sets were targeted more towards the adults). For example the second wave was much more moderately priced, with five sets in a 25–100€ range. Then of course there's the Indiana Jones diorama, but again, it's an adult-oriented set. Animal Crossing focuses on 10–40€ sets, with only two proced above that (and no more than 80€). Despicable Me does the exact same thing, with slightly pricier (around 50€) buildable figures and a single 100€ set. Sonic the Hedgehog is similar, although most of the sets are in the 20–50€ range. There's a few costlier ones, but not many. So taking into account all of this data, I think it'll follow a similar route to most of those themes (or rather, the latter ones). Sonic and Animal Crossing had 5 sets in their first waves, while Despicable Me had 4 in its most recent one. I think that's the number of sets we should be expecting. Obviously we don't know what LEGO's approach is (maybe they want it to become an evergreen theme like Sonic), but I'd expect five sets in a 20–50€ price range, with a single buildable display-style dragon at 60€ and a bigger set at 80–100€. Focused on the dragons, without subtantial builds as you've mentioned. -

Absolutely. The upsized buildable minifigures were such an awesome, inspired idea. They looked so good. Now, they might be more detailed, but they not only lost their minifigure compatibility, but their charm as a whole.
