But there are only about 10 Snowtroopers total shown on-screen in Empire Strikes Back. Honestly, I think Hoth characters are pretty well covered at this point, unless they decide to release a cheaper set with rare characters, a la the "Bounty Hunter Battle Pack" and "Darth Vader Transformation". I apologize if I or someone else has said this before--I honestly don't remember --but I could see LEGO doing an amazing job with a $40-ish set consisting of the Command Center and Bacta Tank room of Echo Base. Minifigures: Updated General Rieekan, Hoth Leia, Luke in a diaper, and a sturdier 2-1B (I hate those Battle Droid legs; they're so flimsy). As far as other sets I'd like, it's all been said before: Rogue One updated X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Star Destroyer, AT-ACT, Cargo Shuttle, Saw's catacombs, Eadu flight station. The main OT ships are perennial classics, so I'm positive we'll see some of them again soon, especially given that the Empire will likely appear in some capacity in the new Han Solo movie. Now it's just a waiting game, and I'm trying not to break down and buy 9492, 75054, and 75055 on eBay or Bricklink.

200 Euro for the Quadjumper? That can't be possible, even with unjustly higher prices in Europe (I live in the US, but I follow the pricing discussions). I suppose the box shows Rey and Finn in the cockpit because no one knows or cares one bit about Unkar's Brute.

Scarif seems like a great set, especially for 40 USD. I would have gotten it if I hadn't gotten the Snowspeeder. And honestly, I think Rogue One is a better movie than Empire, so I don't think you'll be disappointed. Also, as I said above, R2 is amazing!

He's still in a background shot, isn't he? And yes, I agree with everyone that the Bounty Hunter Battle Pack is testing the waters for more diverse groups of characters. Of course, I'm pretty certain the Bounty Hunters will be the most popular battle pack ever!

Wait, you mean in addition to the double VIP points? Oh, well, I've got the Snowspeeder, I'm happy. Also, does anyone think the R4 domes from the UCS Jedi Starfighter are going to go up in price/become incredibly scarce now that people have started making their own droids in the style of the R2 polybag? -
Just got back from the LEGO Store with a UCS Snowspeeder, an R2-D2, and $20 in VIP credit (Bounty Hunter Battle Pack, I'm looking at you!). I feel incredibly thankful to be able to get the Snowspeeder; it's important for me to remember that it's a "first-world" luxury. It also happens to be my favorite Star Wars vehicle for some reason, and my second UCS set after Slave I. I won't build it until this weekend, though, because I have a long work shift tomorrow, and I want an incentive to perform well on the job. However, I did build R2 just now, and he's absolutely adorable. I never got any of the other May the Fourth promotions, so I can't judge, but I would think that this little guy ranks among the best. The set is chock-full of unusual pieces (for me, at least), including a 2x3 tile. The printed pieces are great, considering that R3-M2 got a sticker. Pictures really don't do justice to the R2 promotional minifigure. When you build him, you just want to spin his dome and slide him across the floor.

Make sure to call first, because May the Fourth weekend will probably be crazy. And good luck! Sorry, now I will get back on topic. Next time I will PM.

They were released at LEGOLAND Parks and Discovery Centers in the US. As of last Friday, the Schaumburg LDC (Chicago) said they still had some in stock. Can't vouch for any of the other locations. Unfortunately, it looks like resellers are being pretty merciless with this polybag, and it will only get worse...

Snap Wexley, even though I greatly prefer Rogue One to The Force Awakens.

I think this has been asked before, but does anyone know now whether there will be a second retailer exclusive (non-UCS) set this summer or fall? Is there any precedent for releasing one in the fall (i.e. with the Last Jedi wave)?

Looks excellent! The Lambda shuttle is one of my favorite original trilogy vehicles, and I love this MOC! Were you inspired by the LEGO Force Awakens videogame? I tried to reverse-engineer some of the Microfighters from game, but it was difficult to see the connections between pieces. Anyway, MOCs like this make me wish TLG would put out a range of $20 Microfighters (closer to midi-scale, but still including minifigures). EDIT: FBTB is having a Microfighter building contest. Not sure if that's why you built this, but if you haven't already, you should consider entering.

I don't think the discounts in the US have been revealed yet. All we US AFOLs know is double VIP points, R2-D2, and the Snowspeeder.

I'm sorry. I wasn't sure which forum was more appropriate. I see now what you mean. I am eagerly and patiently awaiting any news about 2018!

Nice! I hadn't thought of using that head. So now I guess there are quite a few chin strap options: -the standard Rebel Scout Trooper (with/without pupils) -Skyhopper pilot -AT-ST Driver/Death Star Trooper -AT-ST Driver from Planet set (although that guy looks so mean, I don't think he would make a good Rebel ) -Hoth Luke from 2013 (alternate face without visor) -I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of any right now.

Is it normal for this many (stolen?) UCS sets to end up on eBay a week before release? And why would anyone pay inflated prices to a dodgy seller when you can go the LEGO Store and buy the set...next week?
-
No word yet, I guess, nor in the US. Here's hoping!

Well, I would like to see "Battle on Scarif" discounted, because that's the only Rogue One set I don't have yet, and my birthday is on May the third. Realistically, I think "Encounter on Jakku" and "Battle on Takodana" are likely candidates. They have been heavily discounted elsewhere, and they still seem to clutter shelves. They both seem like good sets, but both are overpriced in the United States (and elsewhere, I would assume). -
Jedda? Do you mean Jedha from Rogue One? I'm confused. And yeah, sets are out of sequence all the time, due to retail exclusives, release delays, etc. There's no reason to believe that the Jedi Starfighter will be more expensive than the largest TLJ set. But 75178 is the Jakku Quadjumper. Did you mean 75179? For what it's worth, that was the set that was originally rumored to be the "Rebel Hangar" set. But I guess the rumored minifigures kind of rule out Yavin IV!

The Best 2016 LEGO Star Wars Minifigure Round 1
RogueTwo replied to VaderFan2187's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Princess Leia. RIP. :( That figure from the Death Star set is a perfect representation of the character. Too bad the minifigures from that set have such prohibitive costs on Bricklink.- 506 replies

What I don't understand from the trailer: What are those Either way, I think they would make a suitable set, especially with an enemy vehicle in the same wave.

Kafrene assassination, lol. The secondary protagonist killing his ally in cold blood to prevent him from cracking under interrogation. Not exactly LEGO set material. Still, I wouldn't complain if it got us a Cassian minifigure that actually somewhat resembles Diego Luna. All the other ideas would be theoretically possible (and awesome), but I agree that it they may not happen. The initial Rogue One wave was smaller than the initial Force Awakens wave. Okay, fair enough...Force Awakens had slightly more hype. The January wave both included a mid-sized playset and a mid-sized vehicle. Rogue One actually got MORE Microfighters! To me, the warning sign is that there are no Rogue One sets in this summer's wave. Just more Freemakers, Prequels, and Force Awakens. The only ray of hope I can see is that TLG didn't anticipate the popularity of Rogue One among fans (especially older fans), and they will create some more detailed sets somewhere down the line. Unfortunately, by next Spring, they will also have to cover The Last Jedi and the Han Solo movie, meaning that slots for Rogue One sets, particularly large ones, like a Cargo Shuttle, will be limited. Luckily, TIEs, X-Wings, and Star Destroyers are evergreen sets that we're sure to see again in some form. I saw your minifig-scale U-Wing. I'm sorry if I didn't respond; it's an amazing MOC, and perhaps what TLG should have done in the first place, compared to the scaled-down version we got. However, there's no reason why it couldn't be UCS. The X-Wing, Y-Wing, TIE Fighters, this year's Snowspeeder...they are all way bigger than minifigure-scale, but they work nicely as detailed display pieces.

Do you know, or are you allowed to confirm, whether it has a "UCS price tag"? Meaning, I don't know, 180 USD or above? Thanks so much for all the information! (And that goes for Stash and DeltaCustoms as well!) Do you mean it's a regular retail set in the September wave, that just happens to be UCS-ish? Or do you mean that it will just be released concurrently with the Last Jedi wave?

I would love to get the Profundity (a far more interesting ship than Home One, IMO). The only problem is that the "bridge" of the ship is suspended from a long strut on the bottom. So, just like the Medical Frigate, it would have to have a stand, which means it would probably have to be UCS. Honestly, in that case, I would prefer a UCS U-Wing. I think a new T-65 X-Wing is all but certain. The only question is "when" and I would not be surprised if we get one January or June 2018. People have talked about a Red Leader/Blue Leader combo pack, and that would be amazing. I don't see TLG including all the pieces to build two alternate color schemes, but they could easily put both minifigures in one set. Let's face it, Red Leader is about 18 years overdue. And Blue Leader is quickly becoming a fan favorite, I think.
